Good morning everyone,
Is anyone playing Wordl? I'm really enjoying it.
Dull and chilly here this morning but dry. I had two builder's bags of logs delivered yesterday so DS2 will stack them today.
Garlic, chilli chicken tikka for dinner this evening, DS2 is cooking so I'll be on clear up duties. He's been warned not to create chaos!

That smoked salmon etc sounds nice JKS, plus posh FF, really living the high life there
Cold, foggy and miserable here today. Stayed in the warm this morning and watched the tennis and then James Martin. Had lunch of scrambled eggs and avocado on toasted bagel and then ventured out to run a few errands. Popped into M&S food while out and picked up tapas/deli bits for tea, more high life…0 -
I had a look at wordle Caronc and fear it could be addictive 🙂
I'm not CFO this evening as my sister is staying over whilst my nephew has friends staying for the weekend. I went to Sainsburys lunch time to pick up dinner for us and ended up with more in the trolley than planned 🙄 so my Waitrose delivery has been moved to the 25th as that is when the offers finish. I may rethink nearer the time
Lunch was cheese, apple and crackers when I got home and dinner roast chicken followed by one of my nephew's chocolate chip cookies and some raspberries

Still grey with promis of brightness, wishing it would warm up a bit so I can clear some of the dead & soggy foliage before the daffs really get going, their green shoots are up already
A comedown on meals today, from posh FR lamb steaks to Asda bangers. I seem to have accumulated a lot of them during lockdowns all neatly CFO sized packed & frozen by me. I hereby declare today as Sausage Sunday!
Lunch, Sausage Sarnie. I’ll use the AF to cook them. Brown sauce or mustard will be decided nearer the time
Dinner, sausage, fried eggs & HM chips, maybe open some beans. Because I’ll be using the AF for HM chips the bangers will be fried, I’ve found in the past that if they go in AF with chips the chips finish up soggy. And if I grill them with the new style plastic [seaweed] skins they go yucky & sticky and fail to brown properly.
I really should buy real butcher bangers but unless I get to Farm Shop there are none readily available, Heck used to be fine but they’ve gone really downhill IMO since their small beginnings and no longer FR as they once were. Never mind, I’ve freezer stuffed with supermarket best bangers to use up before I start thinking about replacements

Good morning everyone,
I'm slowly working my way through a mound of assorted butcher's bangers so might need to join you in Sausage Sundays Farway!
DS1 & DIL-to-be joined us for curry last night. DS2 made a gorgeous meal and it was lovely to catch up with them.
It was late when they left so I'm trying to find some oomph to do the residual clearing up. More tea needed first I think.
I've defrosted a small joint of lamb to roast later and I want to make a pot of soup - probably leek & tattie as I've not made that for a while. Lunch will be LO rice & curry sauce.0 -
I don't eat a lot of sausages but I'm lucky that both the farmers market and farm shop sells posh sausages 🙂 the farmers market sales some 'award winning' sausages which are very good, I do miss the pre covid days when they sold them loose so you could pick and mix to make multiples of six and they always had tasters 😁 occasionally I would spilt 18 (cheapest way of buying) with my sister
My sister left just before lunch today, his lordship was not amused that she stayed the night 😁 it does him good to have his routine disrupted 🙄
lunch was cheese omelette, I had eggs which needed using so the rest were boiled. Dinner was LO chicken and AF chips with LO veg

Slightly more productive day today (the sun came out, which always helps) - grocery shopping, swimming, ironing, boot polishing.
Lunch was some more of the M&S picky bits and nice bread. Cheat roast tonight of M&S slow roast pork belly, roast new potatoes, swede/carrot mash from the freezer stash, broccoli and green beans. LOs for rinse and repeat after a long day tomorrow 😊0 -
Lovely frost & sunshine this morning, sort of day to wrap up warm and go for a walk and finishing up somewhere warm with a log fire
However that is not for me today, its change bedding & general tidy up day. There’s something niggling at the back of my mind that needs doing but just can’t think what it is for the moment so obviously it’s not obvious or stand out or trip over. I’ll remember in the middle of the night I expect
Meals today, probably toasted cheese sarnie for lunch
Dinner.Sunday roast on a Monday. One LO portion of roast chicken out defrosting, I’ll wrap in foil & reheat in the steamer whilst steaming the fresh broccoli & carrots. This time it’s with more frozen veg, sprouts and Aunt B’s roast potatoes.
The sprouts are frozen ones I bought from Asda before the 20p fresh ones arrived on offer, TBH they are not that nice, with very strong “sprouty” taste, but in MSE CFO Fashion, I’ve bought them & I’ll eat them, just won’t buy again. While I’m thinking of it I may add a review of them on the Asda shopping page, not something I normally do but this time I think it could help someone

Good morning everyone,
Much as I love sprouts I'm not keen on the frozen ones. I'm afraid they'd either be going in soup with lots of cream or ditched.
Dull but dry here this morning.
Leek & tattie soup for lunch using up leeks I chopped a froze over Christmas. Cannelloni for dinner tonight, some stuffed with LO spinach and ricotta from making lasagne the other week and some stuffed with spare broccoli cheese from yesterday.0 -
Early check in for me today, much better day at work but gosh I’m tired.
Office day so mug of HM mushroom soup with a bread roll for lunch. Nice, easy reheat of LO roast dinner tonight, just cooked some fresh green veg to go with.0
