Back to dull & grey again, even the pigeons sitting in the tree outside my window are grey :(

The W8rose delivery arrived spot on noon yesterday as scheduled. With plenty of BB dates left. I decided to use the fresh mince first for my burgers, mainly to use the burger buns before they started to go stale

The burgers turned out well, nothing exotic, just mince, onions, egg and seasoning. I had two yesterday with loads left for today

Lunch and dinner is thus HM burger, I have LO salad to go with them should I fancy it. Any surplus burger mix I think I’ll form into burgers & freeze

This week is a disjointed type of week, today is my only “day off” with something happening most days to divide the day, its blood test tomorrow, hospital phone call Wednesday, committee meeting Thursday, podiatry Friday, nearly as bad as working with all these disruptions

Is it a new Vera or repeats? I used to like watching but in the end she and the plots started to grate on my Grumpy Old Man nerve so I stopped watching

    Good morning everyone,
Cut isn't too bad just in an awkward place so keeps opening despite being well plastered.
Wet and windy here today, my sister's pooch came for a sleepover yesterday evening as she having electrical work done today so best he's not underfoot. He's snuggled on the couch now snoring away after a very reluctant visit to the garden. DS2 will walk him properly at lunch time.
HM soup for lunch and DS2 is making Dal for dinner which we'll have with pitta and poached eggs.

I was woken up this morning by the bin lorry and the realisation that I hadn't put my bin out 😐 I blame my sister as she distracted me, usually bin day is Friday.  Unfortunately it's my general bin so although it wouldn't be full with just me it will be smelly by the next collection as it will then be four weeks 🙄

Oh well first world problem 😐

lunch was LO 'Thai' vegetable salad with boiled egg and cheese with a small mug of veg soup. Dinner was LO lentil and vegetables, broccoli and pan fried salmon

I've mislaid my menu plan for the week 🙄 so currently no idea what to take out the freezer for dinner tomorrow, I wouldn't starve 😁 maybe mince for burgers a la Farway or I think I have a farm shop pork and apple one in the freezer 🤔  I think I'll decide in the morning

Farway it was a new Vera they only aired last year and these are the last two.

  • Well that’s Monday done and dusted, just a day really, wfh so got a fair bit done. Back to back in person meetings tomorrow so doubt I’ll be saying the same this time tomorrow…

Lunch was a portion of smoked mackerel pate from the freezer batch with toast and carrot/cucumber sticks. Made a sausage, new potato, cherry tomato and red pepper traybake tonight with some mango chutney stirred in, served with green beans.

I’ve just put the bin out, Brambling 😜

Bit of a change, it’s now foggy, damp & grey this morning.I have to go for a blood test later so it’ll give me chance to give the car  a warm up & the battery a bit of a boost; car’s not been used so far this year so a nice blast will do it good.

Meals are still consisting of burgers, amazing how far that mince stretches.

Lunch will be later than normal due to timing of my blood test, but it will still be a burger

Dinner, maybe burger if any left with eggs & HM AF chips or cod fillet in crumbs with HM AF chips + nuked frozen peas

    Good afternoon everyone,
Bins need to out today - two this week just to confuse things!
Dry and trying to be sunny here today.
I'm enjoying a much needed cuppa after sweeping through, I'll dust and mop after lunch and the floors can dry while I put my feet up for a bit.
Yesterday I cooked a pan of Italian sausage ragu so just need to heat some of that up and cook some pasta and that's dinner tonight sorted! HM soup again for lunch.

Busy day at work with a unplanned finish of nearly 7pm his lordship was not impressed by his late dinner and demanded attention when I was on a call 🙄 he was wet and wanted cuddles  :)

lunch was the last of the salad with tuna. Being unorganised I hadn't taken any dinner out of the freezer and didn't fancy sausage or bacon so dinner was nice and quick breaded haddock and chips in the AF with frozen veg

  • Snap on a long, busy day Brambling, is it really only Tuesday?!

Office day of many meetings so lunch was a hurriedly eaten mug of butternut and sage soup with a chunk of sourdough for dunking. Really CBA tonight so beans and fried egg with toast. I’ve had a bath and am in bed, feel exhausted 🥱

    Good afternoon everyone,
Back to dull and damp here today.
I've had a fairly productive morning giving the bathroom a good scrub and changing my bed. Time now for feet up for a couple of hours before prepping dinner and tidying the kitchen.
Lunch was the last of the HM soup. Tonight it's slow roasted belly pork with a bbq glaze, rice & beans and salad very loosely based on the JO "Bejewelled pork" recipe in the 7 ways book.

At last sun arrived this morning so I took the opportunity and went out with my camera to nearby village church, some mist was forecast and I hoped for bit of moody / misty among the grave stones, but just sunshine today. Never mind made a nice morning, and the snowdrops were opening up as well

Back in time for lunch of the very last HM beef burger while waiting phone follow up with hospital consultant, had the call but not with him, from hospital Admin, he’s just gone off with Covid so my call will have to wait on his return from sick.

Dinner will be W8rose posh fingers, HM chips and nuked frozen peas. I’ll then freeze the remaining FF
