Quietish day at work so we escaped on time at 5pm 🙂

Damp/wet today however when I went out at 8pm the car was covered in ice as it had rained then froze 🥶 worst to scrape than frost although the temperature was 1c according to the car.

His lordship is feeling the cold 😐 he was reluctant to get up this morning and seems a little stiff, he's eating well so I'll see how he goes over the weekend, I have some Yumove left for when he previously had joint issues.  He's 9 but came with a tender leg and had been mistreated so the vet thought maybe a old injury. It's just as well he's happy to sleep 22 hours a day

no cooking today 😁 LO chicken with salad for lunch and LO risotto for dinner 🙂 I did microwave a small bag of green veg from the freezer to go with it tonight

No surprise that it’s raining again. Very dank & dull morning

Last night’s M & S veg curry was a bit thin & watery, it was YS which is why it was in my basket. Shan’t get it again though unless it’s super YS giveaway

I’ve resisted temptation to fiddle around with my W8rose list just in case something drops off, I’ve already lost the on offer cheese triangles as I checked out and don’t want to risk others

Seeing the salmon pasta JKS has jogged me, it will soon appear on my menu..

Meanwhile today is looking like fried use up stale bread + fried eggs for lunch and defrosting a pre-Christmas YS M & S Steak & mash to nuke for dinner, giving some needed freezer space just in case for the fish I have arriving tomorrow, one lot is posh fish fingers so some will need to be frozen

Pate on toast for, lunch as I've a tub needing used. Cheese burgers, salad and AF sweet potato chips for dinner.

Wet and miserable here too 😐  so other than a trip out to the farm shop I stayed indoors. I stocked up on my F&V and picked up some 'proper' bacon and sausages for the freezer and a turkey drumstick for soup. There was a lot of water on the roads and a idiot trying to join me in the car via the boots 🙄 with four cars in front of me I'm not sure what he expected to do? TBH wet windy country roads I was quite happy with our speed

Lunch was a mug of soup made yesterday with the last of bendy veg and had with a egg and watercress crusty roll.  Dinner was puy lentils with lots of chopped veg, tenderstem broccoli and a piece of pan fried cod on top.  LO lentils so I may repeat but with salmon tomorrow

  • Wet and miserable everywhere by the sounds of it 🙄

I went for a swim late morning but other than that haven’t left the house, or done very much tbh. Did finish The Tourist on iPlayer - bit odd but worth a watch.

Lunch was smoked mackerel pate and toast with some carrot and cucumber sticks. More fish tonight - I topped a piece of smoked cod with mascarpone and cheddar and grilled it for a cheat mornay. Served with some mash from the freezer and frozen peas…can you tell I’m not really feeling it today 😂

Looking like a good day so far, sun’s out and my W8rose delivery is on the way for noon ish. One unavailable item, diced steak on offer, boo hoo :'( , it’s nice and normally well-trimmed with fat off and 1/3 rd off was good, I guess that’s why out of stock, and subbed cod for haddock posh fish fingers but that’s not a problem, otherwise all present & correct.

Apart from the delivery messing around, unpack etc.  Nothing else planned for the day

Food, depending how the delivery works out lunch may be grilled cheese on last of the stale bread toast + pickle or fresh bread in the delivery something sarnie

Dinner, again delivery dependant, plan is HM burger using mince & buns in the delivery plus fresh salad but may have to change if use by dates are short on other items, like the posh F Fingers

    Good afternoon everyone,
    Tipping it down here again.
I've had a fairly productive morning mainly chopping veg, could have done without slicing my thumb though!
pan of bacon, veg and yellow split pea soup is simmering, chopped two big leeks up to frozen and most of the veg for dinner is prepared. Lunch was bacon and tomatoes on toast. Dinner will be roast chicken legs, roast spuds, mashed swede, sprouts, green beans and gravy.

Ouch Caronc hopefully not too bad a cut 😬

Cold again today but not raining 🙂

pottering type day, with some sorting of drawers 🙂 my sister came around for a couple of hours for a gossip and a cuppa.

Lunch was a mug of veg soup and a egg and watercress salad.  I decided to leave the LO lentils until tomorrow night so dinner was AF breaded chicken (thigh fillets so nice and moist) AF chips and a 'Thai' type vegetable salad plenty of raw veg 🙂 LO salad for another day 🙄

    Sitting enjoying Vera now

  • Finally stopped raining here, was a lovely sunny but cold day. Walked to do my grocery shopping as don’t seem to have had any fresh air for days…also changed the bed, mopped floors and did some washing and ironing.

Lunch was poached eggs and avocado on toasted sourdough (very hipster 😂). Easy tea of reheated roast chicken & gravy and swede & carrot mash (both from the freezer), I roasted some new potatoes with garlic and oregano, and cooked the end of the cabbage. Also decluttered some 🍷…

Pottery throw down for me, must try Vera at some point.

I'm also a pottery watcher JKS so I picked up Vera on ITV +1  I ignore the fact the actress who plays Vera is 75  :D she doesn't look it.  I did catchup on it from the start during lockdown
