Slightly less manic day today and after IT managed to resolved yesterday's system issue about 4pm so we all escaped just after 5pm tonight 😁

I popped out at 7pm and had to de-ice the windscreen so looks like it will be a cold night

lunch was cheese, crackers and apple.  Dinner was portion of goat casserole from the freezer with root veg mash and broccoli nice and simple ping meal

You were right Brambling, it was a cold night with thick frost this morning but nice & sunny again

Out this afternoon to a volunteers' meeting otherwise I’d put something stew like in the oven. Had I planned a bit better I could’ve sorted out the slow cooker to leave simmering away, hey ho, have to be a freezer rummage once I’m back

Lunch, now the HM burgers have gone I’ll open up the pack of bacon & have BLT sarnie for lunch

Dinner, as above, freezer rummage, there’s a long lurking Sweet & Sour chicken in there so a likely candidate, it needs using and space clearing. It was bought last year when shelves were being cleared & it was get whatever is available, and this was one I was happy with at the time but not one I'de buy again, dubious sourced chicken :(

    Good afternoon everyone,
Dull and chilly but dry here today.
I've had a lazy morning after a lie in so need to catch up with myself. Virtual meeting with my voluntary job this afternoon and then a Zoom catch up with some friends early evening.
LO rice & beans for lunch with some added peas and cheese. Turkey, stuffing & leek pie from the freezer for dinner this evening, we'll have it with sprouts, green beans and baby spuds.
  • MIA yesterday, just forgot to post - went swimming so had a good sleep afterwards. Lunch was a tuna sandwich as I was at a meeting away from the office. Chicken and green bean pesto pasta after swimming.

Back in the office today (it’s one of those weeks, if you haven’t already guessed 😂). Spicy parsnip soup and toasted pitta for lunch. Just made a quick sweet chilli prawn and veg stir fry with noodles.

    Nearly the weekend 😜

I can relate to one of those weeks JKS :) there are only two of us in tomorrow and the other one is the boss so I don't expect it to be any better 🙄

I did spend lunch time making a cottage pie topped with mash cauliflower for dinner and a spicy kobocha squash soup.

lunch was a mug of the soup 😋 the squash has been in the basket since before Christmas.  Dinner was a portion of the cottage pie which I hadn't made in ages, I sprinkled the mashed cauliflower with cheese and reheated in the oven, I took out a portion of red cabbage and root veg mash from the freezer and cooked some purple sprouting to go with it 🙂 very tasty and LOs so tomorrow is a no cook day 😁

Amazing, sunshine again, that’s three days on the trot, nearly summertime

Out early to get the tootsies done, while there I popped into Co-op for bread / milk, and some FR large eggs, surprisingly the eggs are cheaper than Asda, £1 V £1.09, just goes to show how the reality can be different from perception. Somehow a packet of digestives fell into my basket while there, but bread was YS, mainly toasting it anyway so not a problem

    Lunch is another BLT sarnie

Dinner is pushing the boat out, FR lamb leg steaks out to defrost, and not before time, they are posh local lamb that has been in the freezer about a year. I intend grilling and having with boiled baby spuds, steamed fresh broccoli, carrots & some frozen veg, maybe green beans? Plenty of butter & mint sauce

    Good afternoon everyone,
Your lamb steaks sound delicious Farway, I'm cooking a small leg joint on Sunday with similar trimmings.
Tesco have been and no subs or missing items. Scotch egg and salad for lunch and usual Friday freezer rake for dinner. DS2 has spent most of his lunch break making a tikka marinade for chicken to cook tomorrow. I'm drooling at the lovely wafts of spice, ginger and garlic.  :)

A nice quiet day at work and the boss decided at 4.15pm that we could both go whilst it was quiet 🙂

Food has been a repeat of yesterday, soup for lunch and cottage pie for dinner. I've really enjoyed the cottage pie I mustn't leave it so long before I make it again

  • I had a quieter day too, not hard this week though, and was at home so got lots done. Also managed a lunchtime swim 😉

Posh (although only sainsburys TTD) fishfinger sandwich for lunch when I got back. Enjoyed the relaxing stirring and wine drinking rituals of making risotto tonight - smoked salmon, served with baby corn and mange tout.

Happy weekend, just seen that the beeb are showing Andy’s match tomorrow so that will keep me occupied when I inevitably wake up at stupid o’clock despite it being Saturday 🎾

Back to normal grey day weather, I knew once I mentioned summer it would end.

That smoked salmon etc sounds nice JKS, plus posh FF, really living the high life there

Last night’s lamb leg steak was excellent, I have its twin for tonight’s dinner because they were frozen in a pack of two and inseparable while frozen

Lunch is last of the B in a BLT sarnie

Dinner, the grilled lamb steak and probably use up the LO boiled baby spuds & veggies in some sort of frittata thing to accompany it

I’ll have a freezer dive later to see what is next for use up & defrosting
