I'm not fond of boiled sprouts but do like then stirred fried with bacon, onion and garlic (fresh not frozen sprouts) or raw in a slaw
Work wise it was another manic day with system issues reported by the Middle East yesterday meaning we started work to loads of emails and two IT teams having no idea of what was causing it so they rebooted servers - yep if in doubt switch off and back on againsurprise surprise it didn't completely work 🙄 we all escaped at 5pm passing it on to our USA colleagues 😁
lunch was a chicken and salad roll. Dinner a venison steak from the freezer with new potatoes and green veg. I AF the steak and it was surprisingly ok, I did sit it I oiled tin foil and did manage to cook it medium.Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -
Brrr, a very frosty morning, it was a clear night last night with a very full & bright moon, I tried taking a photo but although it worked they are not that sharp, can’t see Elvis’ face or the double decker bus up there
I’ve just turned the heating back on, it timed out but much too cold to right now, ideal cuppa soup day.
Lunch, I think given the weather open a tin of soup and make some AF croutons. I’ve just found a tin of kipper fillets, BBE June 2020 and was going to have them but another day won’t do any more harm to them
Dinner, I’ll join Brambling with steak [part of 3 for tenner W8rose offer] except mine will be sirloin and probaly pan fried, with HM AF chips & a side salad for a bit of healthy greenery

Good morning everyone,
Dull and damp here.
Steaks sound delicious.
Cannelloni yesterday ended up as lasagne, should have checked I had the correct pasta lol!
Adminy day today, at least it's my own stuff fir a change!
HM soup for lunch and tonight I'm making a JO recipe - garlic, ginger minced beef with black bean sauce which we'll have with rice and cucumber salad.0 -
The frost was pretty to look at this morning, not having to scrape the car does help
Most of the day was spent on a call but at least we finished off the work by the end of day deadline and finished by 5.15pm which was unexpected 😁
lunch was a egg and cress roll using up the eggs I boiled at the weekend. Dinner was the last of the LO chicken stir fried with veg and a 'Chinese' type sauce with noodles

I was glad of a non-scraping day too Brambling. By the time I nipped out for a swim at lunchtime, car was defrosted. First meeting only lasted half the scheduled time and the next one got rescheduled…so got a few other bits done but also took the chance to finish nearly on time.
Lunch was smoked mackerel pate on toast with cherry tomatoes and cucumber sticks. HM pizza tonight (used a readymade base) - mozzarella from the freezer, orange pepper, mushroom, spring onion and last of the artichoke hearts from the M&S deli selection. Had with rocket, cucumber, cherry tomatoes and coleslaw 😋0 -
Back to dull & grey again this morning
My bit of sirloin yesterday was very tasty, first time I’ve had it from W8rose. Not the thickest cut but I’ll certainly buy that again. I’m gradually assembling a new shopping list on line, mixed between W8rose & Asda; my mind is not yet decided where to jump this time now I’m paying per delivery & not a pass
While sorting out the salad for last night I found there was just too much celery lurking, so this morning I have made a pot of celery soup and will follow Caron by having a bowl of that for lunch
My intentions were also having that soup plus make some soda bread, for dinner. But seeing the JKS mention of smoked mackerel pate has set me pondering the feasibility of using my OOD tinned kippers as base for pate? I have everything required and will give it some thought before dinner time
All these CFO decisions but at least it’s fresh & HM

Good morning everyone,
Dry and trying to be sunny here this morning. It's chilly but much nicer than the wet and gloom.
Domestics beckon today as I need to rearrange some dust and debris lol!
HM soup again for lunch and tonight it's salmon with HM wedges and salad.0 -
Dreary day here as well but meant to be dry but colder for the next few days
all this talk of smoke mackerel pate reminded me I brought some smoke mackerel on Saturday, will need to see what I fancy tomorrow lunch
Lunch was Brie and crackers with tomato and cucumber salad. The Brie was brought for Christmas but hid at the back of the fridge. Dinner was a FS pork and apple burger in a PB roll with chilli jam and fried onions and a small saladLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -
Cold, bright and sunny here today. Nice productive day, mostly in off-site meetings. Did mean lunch was a slightly average bought ploughman’s sandwich 🙄
Made a nice prawn and green bean Thai curry tonight, served with noodles.0 -
Out early to collect my prescription, frosty but sunny, bit of a heart stopping moment as I turned the ignition key, just the dreadful engine slowly turning but not firing noises, gulp!. Stopped and let it rest a moment while a silent prayer was thought, Bingo, fired up at next try. I then had a zoom down the motorway to give it a nice warm up & recharge
Being a diesel and weather having been so cold & freezing the fuel must be like mud by now despite being in a garage
Prescription was hunt the package by chemist, seems they were waiting for one more pack, eventually got sorted. Into adjacent Costcutter for bread, milk & YS mooch, turned up trumps with YS chicken + black bean + rice MFO, dinner sorted but even there this morning’s jinx followed me, it was rung up at full price and I had to get refund, luckily I checked & spotted before I’d left the shop
Yesterday’s celery soup turned out very well, I have one serving LO which was going to be lunch but I also found YS baps in Costcutter, thus lunch is first time trying new brand of veg burger, brand forgotten but supposed to be good.
Dinner, ping the YS MFO chicken + black bean
