  • Wind, rain, hail, sun, everything today. Only went as far as the swimming pool and I drove!

Busy domestic chores day on account of visitors this evening. Nothing like having people round to spur me into action 😂. Watched some Winter Olympics in between times, find the curling oddly fascinating, what a strange sport…

Lunch after swimming was my old favourite of scrambled eggs and mushrooms on toast. Tonight’s feast was roast chicken, roast potatoes, cabbage, honey glazed carrots and gravy. There was also a bought tart for pudding 😉

Frost and a bright sunny morning, nice to look at but not yet one to go outside

Hope it sticks around because I hope to get out tomorrow, prescription & maybe venture into Home Bargains if they have some compost, what a thrill

Umming & ahhing about meals today, initially took a rump steak out to defrost, but then decided to use up the last LO roast chicken bits and remains of yesterday’s cauliflower cheese, steak back in the freezer and it’s LO Monday Meals

I may have some frozen hash browns lurking which need to go, if they are there I’ll add them to the LO dinner, if not a few frozen chips will be on the LO plate

Lunch, another CBA fried egg sarnie

    Good afternoon everyone,
Weather is still manky here, it's apparently milder but it doesn't feel it.
Tidied out the "shelf of doom" in one of the larder cupboards this morning :D . DS2 has been warned that random things have not to gravitate there now there's some space!
Trying the the potato and cauliflower back from last week's Guardian for dinner tonight https://www.theguardian.com/food/2022/jan/31/rachel-roddys-recipe-cauliflower-and-potato-bake-sformato
Lunch will be a bowl of the bacon and leek broth I made yesterday.
  • Gosh, I’m tired tonight 🥱

Combination of a late night and a relatively easy day (without the adrenaline keeping me going one of my colleagues suggested).

Was glad of my easy reheat roast dinner LOs tonight. But then made chicken stock and a few days worth of chicken and peanut noodle salad for lunches, cleared up, remembered to put the rubbish out, and have collapsed in bed 😴

    Is it really only Monday???

The weekend goes by far too fast 😐  it was with great reluctance I got out of bed this morning  :)

lunch was a chicken salad wrap.  It's my nephew's birthday today so I went to my sister for a Chinese takeaway for dinner followed by birthday cake 😋  and a slice made its way room with me for tomorrow 😁

having offloaded some books to charity shop last week I came back with a carrier bag full from my sister 🙂

    Good morning everyone,
The weather is much better this morning and is actually trying to be sunny.
DIL-to-be has tested positive for COVID, so far DS1 is negative but will no doubt succumb. DS2 saw them on Saturday afternoon, he's no symptoms and is testing negative so fingers crossed he's avoided it. She thinks she probably caught when they went out for dinner and drinks with friends on Saturday evening.
The cauli and potato bake was very good but lots of LOs even though I reduced the recipe quantities. I think it should freeze okay if we don't use it up.
HM soup again for lunch and DS2 is making chicken chasni for dinner which we'll have with rice & salad.

Back to dull, grey & mild but went out on prescription pick up plus some compost and YS mooch in Costcutter

A satisfactory outcome all round, managed to get the compost into the car, I was wondering if I could lift it with my lack of puff & general droopiness but managed just fine

Costcutter was successful with YS as well, mince, bangers & bread all YS, plus some bananas non YS. The mince is use by right now so it was HM burger blob sarnie for lunch with rest of the burger mix resting and I’ll use it for a meat loaf thing later

With eh ex burger mix meatloaf I’ll do some frozen chips in the AF, plus open tin of beans + couple of fried eggs

Caron, shame about the Covid coming around again, hope it is just a mild one

    Hope it's a mild case Caronc 🙂

Work wasn't too manic today, other than the frustration of a 90 minute team call where the end result was the solution I said it was in the first 5 minutes 🙄 I'm afraid I did say I told you so 🤨 although the boss did get his own back by saying we will be starting work at 7.30am on Saturday and it's my turn to work  :s

lunch was jacket potato with cheese and coleslaw. Dinner LO chicken roast dinner so a nice and easy ping meal

  • Love those kind of meetings, Brambling 🙄

I’ve had another non manic day, no idea what’s going on…

Lunch was some of the chicken noodle salad, and it was early of tea beans with toast before swimming tonight. Very little cooking or clearing up tonight but I had left last night’s pans to do, and have also portioned and frozen the chicken stock.

Bright start to the day after a very red sky this morning, there is a front coming my way so maybe there’s some truth in it?

Yesterday’s YS mince turned into a very tasty meat loaf with LOs.

Today is YS bangers day, so it’s back to 1960s

Lunch will be the traditional sausage sarnie with brown sauce on high alert

Dinner, bangers, frozen AF chips, fried eggs & LO baked beans

Hope to have a bit of a tidy up in the garden later, if the Red Sky in Morning proves to be false alarm

I’ve just read on the MSE newsletter that old postage stamps will cease to be valid once new bar coded style comes along. I have a few books of old ones so will have to get them exchanged once the method of doing so is available, one to watch if like me buying booklets and only use them maybe at Christmas
