Hard frost here this morning but by the time I got the bins in at 9am the car was defrosted in the sun.A quiet Friday work wise so time to get some outstanding items crossed off the to do list
I'm working tomorrow so didn't argue when the boss let us go at 4.30pm
lunch was a mug of vegetable soup with a couple of crackers with cheese. Dinner was the second pork chop defrosted yesterday, sliced into strips and stirred fried with veg and a black bean sauce and noodlesLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -
Cold here today but haven’t actually left the house. Finished the week with another completely manic day 🙄
Did manage to get a load of washing done.
Lunch was half of a RTC mozzarella flatbread that was in the freezer, with added peppers and mushrooms. Used up a carrot, some of the cabbage and spring onions to make coleslaw to go with it. Took prawns out to defrost last night - was going to make prawn saganaki but couldn’t be bothered by dinner time so made a quick sweet chilli stir fry with them instead.
So ready for the weekend!0 -
Beautiful sunrise but now back to dull grey with rain on the way.
Very busy morning so far, I had a loaf in the Panny overnight, all baked & out cooling now, that’s lunch sarnie sorted
Because of weather forecast I had diced steak out defrosting ready for this morning, today is slow cooker casserole / stew thing. All done with last donkey carrots used up and now it's blobbing away on low, and this time I remembered I had ready frozen chopped mixed peppers & sliced mushrooms in the freezer. I bought them just for such a meal but mostly forget them until it’s too late
Meals, lunch, the fresh bread and maybe the last of the LO meat loaf inside, sort of burger style. Not sure whether to nuke to warm it or fry it to heat it, fry is more burgerish so I’ll probably do that. I know ML can be eaten cold but I don't fancy that, especailly with my ML
Dinner, the slow cooked beef thing, plus dumplings to go in later. Should be at least two meals there. I'm going to attempt adding some L & P to the dumplings as I mix them, fingers crossed it works

Good morning everyone,
Cold, wet and windy here today. Some housework beckons but apart from that a quiet day until DS2 returns later this evening, though I suspect he may decide to head up tomorrow morning.
Ended up making a chicken & veg traybake last night so LOs of that for lunch. Dinner tonight is tbc, possibly fish fingers though Farway's stew has tempted me so might make some savoury mince. I'll see what my CBA levels are like after the chores are done.0 -
Typical nice day here and other than popping out to the chemist I was working until nearly 5pm 🙄 although we finished two hours ahead and no hiccups causing us to work really late 🙂
I raided my freezer for meals so a no cook day. Lunch was a mug of minestrone soup with some melon to follow. Dinner beef casserole (no dumplings) braised red cabbage and root veg mash, I cooked some HG rhubarb also from the freezer yesterday and being good decided against crumble but did have a small pot of custard with it after dinner 😋

Lovely and bright here today but the wind is so cold. As I didn’t need much, I walked to sainsburys this morning to get some fresh air.
Main meal at lunchtime as I have been to the pictures this evening to see Death on the Nile. Fresh pappardelle with a creamy chicken and mushroom sauce, served with green beans.
Finished off the other half of the pimped up flatbread and coleslaw when I got home this evening.
Looks set to rain all day tomorrow 🙄0 -
Very dull with rain currently over Dorset , and JKS I think, looking out of the window due here any minute and Brambling to follow, good job I have my LO beef stew + dumpling to keep me warm
The L & P in yesterday’s dumplings worked, I’ll add a splash more next time because not quite enough L & P taste for me. I don’t know if it was some magic ingredient in the L & P but the dumplings puffed up nicely, I have made some dense stodge in the past so maybe this was one of my better efforts? All very tasty with LOs as forecast
Lunch, still using the pork luncheon meat, so some of that + Branston sarnie
Dinner, nuke one of the LO stew & dumpling from yesterday, and sorely tempted to defrost some of my stewed HG apples, perhaps a crumble later? We’ll see

Good morning everyone,
DS2 returned just after midnight after a productive day packing. My conservatory area is full of boxes that will need to be shifted today.
Absolutely tipping it down this morning, forecast is for it to be like this all day. I've no plans to venture further than the bins and fancy an afternoon in the kitchen getting organised for a houseful next week.
I made a pan of savoury mince yesterday and had some with a baked spud and peas for dinner. Just need to decide what to do with the rest of it now. Bacon and egg for lunch and steak dinner this evening.0 -
Snap on the steak dinner, caronc! Didn’t fancy a roast so rump steak with Stilton sauce, paprika potato wedges and stir fried vegetable selection tonight.
A wet, miserable day so caught up on some tv and ironing. Other than that, a swim and some food prep for the week. Scrambled eggs and mushrooms on toasted bagel for lunch after swimming. Also decluttered 1.5 double chocolate cookies during the afternoon 😜0 -
The rain got here about lunchtime, I've told you before Farway you don't have to share 🙂
The weather meant I was shut in with a grumpy cat 😾 I hoovered and turn over his cushion and it was too wet for him to go out 🙄 he had a manic ten minutes whilst I was in the kitchen and managed to knock over a large plantplants in my house manage to survive neglect by me they don't need his lordship
I spent time this afternoon tidying the kitchen, cleaning fridge etc and rummaged through the veg containers and dicing up all the odds and sods like the 1 stick of celery etc half went into a mince ragu and the other half was softened and added to put lentils. The ragu will be dinner / lunches for a couple of days. Dinner tonight was half the lentils with fresh tuna from the freezer which needed using and a hard boiled egg, followed by rhubarb and custard. Lunch was a portion of turkey soup from the freezer and some melon.Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0
