Light rain first thing, just enough to water in the planting I did the other day, sun due out later but I’m indoors today

Regarding L & P and dates, isn’t L & P one of those things that’s matured for a million years in barrels before it gets bottled, similar to whisky or even Parma ham?

Yesterday’s frozen readymade mash, unlike L & P, is not a good keeper. It had freezer burned dry bits and was not that pleasant. Half went in the bin and the frozen bag left over will be binned come bin day. It was one of the lockdown, empty shelves items bought when beggars were not able to choose and even frozen chips were but a memory. It will not be replaced

The YS M & S pie was one of those fine at YS price but not full price, the YS chicken cooked up well and awaits disposal by mouth  today, starting with lunch

Lunch, YS sliced roast chicken + salad bits sarnie

Dinner, more YS chick, HM AF chips + salad

I pay as much attention to dates on L&P as I do to mustard  and vinegar 🙂

It's been a typical Friday but luckily only the one brief conference call 🙂  I remembered to finally put out a charity bag for collection today which has been sitting in my spare room for months 🙄 unfortunately they wouldn't take books so I'll have to take them in a few at a time

lunch was Minestrone soup, I've frozen the last portion 🙂 dinner was  bubble & squeak aka LO colcannon, French beans and lambs liver 😋

My L&P was way older than before lockdown 😂
    .
It's just as well we all ignore BB dates 😁
Absolutely! Some things live forever…May 2016 for the L&P by the way 😂

And much prefer it to whisky, Farway!

Nice wfh day today, not one meeting so pretty much completed the day’s to do list (the everything to do list is another matter).

Really enjoyed posh fishfingers in flatbread for lunch, and made courgette and lemon orzo with garlic prawns tonight 😋

Back to frost this morning, with weak sunshine and what looks like a very cold wind but I’m not going to sample it

Ideal day for using the LO roast chicken, plenty left on for today at least

Lunch, LO chicken + salady sarnie, again!

Dinner, LO chicken plus I’m fancying roast veggies with all the recent tray bake talk, I have spuds, tough tree trunk type carrots [thanks Asda!! ] + the YS parsnips. And found half used packet of Asda Christmas stuffing BB 05 Jan, so really fresh in CFO land

I’ll pop stuffing in same oven as the veggies, spot of Bisto instant gravy & dinner is done

    Good morning everyone,
Sounds like a plan Farway, I do love an oven bung in.  :)
The weather is still horrible here and very windy. Not a day for venturing far unless you have no choice. I'm trying to persuade pooch that trip out to the garden might be a good idea but he's having none of it!
BLT probably for lunch and tonight it's JO Jerk chicken and pineapple sandwich, coleslaw and AF HM skinny fries.

A nice cold but dry day which I'll take over rain any day 🙂

The car needed a drive, my radio needed retuning when I went out Wednesday which could mean the battery so I took it too the farm shop 🙂 I tried to avoid the butcher but was drawn in by a big turkey drumstick 😁 theyy don't always have them and they are £1.50 whatever the size so I grab when I see them especially if they are a good size, the last one made six good size portions so MSE just need a bit of veg.  It has been frozen as I have two portions of the last soup in the freezer.

i parked in town on the way back to drop off a couple of big bags full of books, typical the charity shop closest to the car park wasn't taking donations today 🙄 the cancer research shop had a sign asking for books so they were grabbed out of my hands 😁 I popped into M&S for they washing capsules as they don't make me wheeze and got a half price small gammon joint YS for £3 so that is also in the freezer 🙂

Home via my sister for a cuppa and catch up and we booked a AirBnB cottage for a few days Feb half term, not far only across the county border right on the coast as she doesn't want to go far at the moment. My nephew will cat sit which will keep his lordship happy.

late breakfast of porridge and fruit meant no need for lunch.  Dinner was the last of the LO colcannon made into bubble and squeak with FS bacon and sausage, mushrooms and a fried egg on top

  • Ooh, yummy dinner, Brambling 😋

Sunny at times here today but such a cold wind, and squally showers this afternoon. Pottering sort of day, bit of sink shining, caught up with the ironing and did a sainsburys shop.

Used up half a courgette, half a pepper and the end of a block of halloumi with couscous for lunch. Made a variation of Jamie’s sausage gnocchi for dinner, which has broccoli in so keeping my green intake up 🙃

I think you’re out of luck with rain today Brambling, it’s chucked it down here and now on its way to you I think. Never mind, blue sky appearing to the West so perhaps we can dry out later?

Good YS haul there as well, food always tasted better once the YS label is added to ingredients

Yesterday’s roast veggies turned out well, as they always do, if it wasn’t for the faffing I’d make them more often, it was only the YS parsnips that tipped me over the edge this time. The half packet of Asda stuffing was rank, I don’t think its packet date / age related. As I was eating it I remembered why there was half a packet left in the cupboard. Another item on my never again list

Meals today, lunch will be CBA fried egg sarnie

Dinner, the yummy M & S cauli in a cauli cheese, possibly with last of the roast chicken. I still use PN nuke cheese sauce recipe / method, and I have mustard powder as well so maybe spoonful of that? And L & P splash?

    Good afternoon everyone,
Horrible weather here, heavy squalls of hail and sleet and very windy. Blooming baltic as well. Pooch was not impressed at having to go out when it was time him to go home!
Not much planned for today apart from cooking roast pork dinner though might make a pot of soup. Scrambled egg and mushrooms on toast planned for brunch.

We had our own rain first thing today Farway I woke at 7 and listened to the wind and rain, we then had yours after lunch 😐 a good excuse not to go out 😁

I needed to use some eggs so lunch was a egg salad wrap.

My sister came around for dinner as it's my nephew's birthday tomorrow and he had mates around tonight.  I roasted the large chicken I had frozen with usual trimming, I did take my eyes off the ball and the parsnips and potatoes were a little on the dark side  :s at least the Yorkshire puddings appreciated the temperature 🙄
