Like everyone else, once the rain started yesterday morning it never stopped, back to sun this morning anyway

I never had the LO stew yesterday, CBA and fresh bread meant just slice of bread with pate, jam, soft cheese, dripping, not in that order or at same time, unsurprisingly the thought of nuked beef stew & dumplings had passed by dinner time

Today should be better but there is a fresh loaf in the Panny so not guaranteed

Lunch, grilled cheese on last crust toast

Dinner, try again on nuking LO beef stew & dumplings

    Good morning everyone,
Dryish here this morning after a non-stop deluge yesterday.
Made a mince round (plate pie) with the spare mince which I've popped in the freezer.
I have some of my steak LO so that will be going in a sandwich with lettuce and horseradish for lunch.
Feeding four tonight, I've a large chook defrosted to roast. I'll make a salad, coleslaw and baby hasselback spuds to go with it.
  • Cooler and drier again here today, not that I saw much of it from the office - a day of lots of staff type meetings, team meetings, 121s etc, am exhausted!

Butternut squash and feta couscous for lunch. Quick Thai green curry tonight, used up the last of the roast chicken from the freezer, added baby corn and mange tout and served with noodles.

That time of year JKS I hate 121s I always think they know what you have done and TBH we have spent the year fire fighting after a major system upgrade last year.  My boss is nagging us all for paperwork so we can arrange ours, not much point the % they offer 🙄

it was surprisingly quiet today considering we had system changes at the weekend which usually causes loads of questions where people haven't read release notes 🤔

food wise was nice and easy.  Lunch was LO veg and lentils with a hard boiled egg, it's maturing nicely and spicier than last night. Dinner was the ragu I made yesterday with pasta and a side of French beans

Looking like another dull & damp day ahead, drizzle just started. But at least the Tete a Tete daffs out the front are opening now so looking brighter already

Compiling the W8rose shopping list, I need to get it in before next week when offers expire but tempted to leave it and see how the Valentines ones do or are replaced now it’s all over. Not in hurry because I hope to go to M & S tomorrow or Thursday, just a YS mooch, bit of salad + milk

Food today, fresh Panny loaf so lunch is cheese & last of salad before M & S top up sarnie

Dinner, the remaining LO beef stew & dumplings, nuked. Last night’s was good after festering maturing overnight, hopefully the same will apply to these remains

    Good morning everyone,
It's dry just now after some really torrential rain overnight. More to come later
My family are gannets, yesterday I roasted a 2.2kg chicken expecting enough leftovers for a pie. The carcass is only fit for stock making. I only had a normal sized portion but DS2, sis and nephew cleared the decks! There was ample sides and they're gone too, bar a scape of coleslaw!  I'll need to defrost some thighs for tomorrow's promised pie. Thankfully DS2 has made a huge vat of aubergine & potato curry for tonight.

I also have hollow legged nephews Caronc the last time I fed one of mine there was not the LOs I expected from the chicken 😁

I did see Waitrose offers finished on the 22nd Farway I was thinking of a delivery after then so will wait and see what's in offer or may go to Sainsbobs for a change

Today was busy enough for time to go quickly but not manic until just after 4pm when a load of emails came in and we ended up with a hour Skype call

another day of LO 🙂 lunch was the last of the lentil and vegetables with sweet chilli sauce and LO French beans.  Dinner was LO ragu and pasta with purple sprouting

  • Another day of “people” stuff, seem to be finding it exhausting at the moment.

Lunch was the last of the spicy carrot and lentil soup from the freezer with a toasted pitta. Early tea of posh fishfinger sandwich before swimming. Decluttered the last chocolate cookie with a cuppa afterwards 😉

    Good morning everyone,

Wet and wild here already today with public transport due to stop by 4pm. Hatches are battened as far as possible. Sister's pooch is unimpressed with a full "dead dog" impression protest when she tried to take him out earlier. :smiley
Pie and mash for dinner, just the kind of weather for it. I'm taking the easy option and using bought pastry but need to stir my stumps after my cuppa and get the filling sorted out. HM soup from the freezer lunch.

Out early in the sun, went to Marks for milk + YS browsing & general odds & ends, it was quite a good haul, still 50p salad stuff + monster cauli, a lovely Savoy, so much better seeing the veggies. I thought I’d miss my W8rose mooching since the local one shut but Marks is ideal and surprisingly not silly prices for everything.

I’ll adjust my online shopping for next week, won’t need any salad for instance. Perhaps I may alter my shopping with covid on the decline but avoiding crowds like Lidl, have to see how it goes for a few weeks

Back home, my front door lock broke, boo hoo, it’s a multi-point locking system in UPVC door, I suspect the handle shaft has sheared, given time & a younger body I could sort it, but both are missing so currently asking local FB for recommends, it’s not a big job but does need someone with the bits to hand being a locking front door and I don’t want it left unlocked or jammed

Of course if it's not fixed soon then a shopping delivery is impossible with jammed front door, very long trek to back door and I can't expect someone to do that. Good job I found Marks!

Lunch, repeat of cheese + salad sarnie

Dinner, a YS marks MFO chicken in red wine dinner, looks good, there were two YS so one tonight, other in the freezer

Had update from DS, he has Covid, positive tested last night. So far like a bad cold he says. He’s a teacher so it’s a wonder he has gone this long without it. Half term next week so it’ll blend in nicely one wife & kids catch it
