Today’s highlight is Boiler Service, he’s due very soon, and airing cupboard contents [where boiler is] are now plonked on my bed. At least with the annual service I get to find my missing socks and assorted clothing that I was sure I had but can never find when wanted

I left a loaf to bake overnight in the Panny, nice fresh bread smell now, and it’s out cooling for lunch

The glazed ham has lasted very well, enough left for ham sarnie lunch, maybe with sliced fresh tom?

Dinner, absolutely nothing planned, looking very much like a root around the freezer for inspiration

    Good morning everyone,
Chilly here this morning with touch of frost first but nice and bright now, so nice to see the back of the wind and rain even if it is only temporary.
Rinse and repeat activities wise with more domestics and admin. I also need to head out to the front garden with my long tongs and lift the rubbish that has been blown in.
HM soup again for lunch and dinner will pasta with HM tomato sauce, HM pesto and chorizo.

Another grey day but unlike my colleagues we didn't have much rain just some drizzle

lunch was a portion of chicken soup with some crackers.  Dinner was mince stuffed courgette from a freezer rummage, it probably should have been eaten a month 4 or 5 weeks ago as the courgette wasn't great but the stuffing was tasty and it's a space cleared in the freezer.  I'll pull out another HM ready meal later for tomorrow dinner

  • Bit of a using up day here. Some of the houmous, cucumber, olives and feta with a pitta bread for lunch (still some of each left…)

Dinner was LO Waitrose egg fried rice and LO roast pork (both from the freezer) with the end of a red pepper and a few frozen peas chucked in the wok with some garlic, chilli, ginger and Chinese 5 spice - quick and tasty!

Off to a misty start but sunshine now

Yesterday’s boiler service uncovered worn ignition electrodes, which explains why the boiler was making load bangs at times, he showed me a pic taken of them, yep, they were knackered :'(

One reason I use him is he is an honest tradesman; replacements are £80 from the supplier, but £35 on ebay for same item, some I suspect would’ve ordered the £35 ones & charged me £80. On order & will be fitted if / when the present ones start banging and failing

I’m out this afternoon to a volunteers’ meeting but apart from that nothing else planned

Food today is mostly whatever I find, with being out this afternoon I don’t fancy returning home to start prepping & cooking, so it’ll be something from the freezer, food & make a bit of room for my Saturday delivery.

Fingers crossed my faint memory of frozen coated fish fillets is not a phantom one :(

Lunch is defiantly a sarnie, maybe cheese & cuc

    Dinner, ?????

    Good morning everyone,
I'm making some headway now with the voluntary admin, still lots to go and some more was added yesterday but I'm pleased with where I've got to.  I stripped my bed after my shower so once I've re-made it, I'll get cracking on with the spreadsheets again.
Cheese & beetroot sandwich planned for lunch and I've chicken thighs defrosting to make a Thai green curry for dinner this evening.

    Evening all

I needed to pick up a blood test form from the doctor surgery lunchtime so used the Sainsbury's car park which is next door 🙂 whilst there I brought a couple of potatoes, carrots, bananas and milk which fresh food wise will last me until my W8itrose delivery on Tuesday so I can avoid SMs on Saturday 😁

lunch was a quick mug of chicken soup when I got back from town.  Dinner was mutton and dumpling casserole from the freezer with mash potato and sweetheart cabbage

  • Lunch was a very welcome mug of celery and Stilton soup, gulped down between meetings, been one of those office days…

Smoked salmon and horseradish pasta tonight which used up the end of a bag of rocket and most of the creme fraiche. Grazed on the ends of the houmous, feta, olives and cucumber before dinner 😙

Weather is back to dull, damp and the wind’s getting up. I’m in all day anyway, waiting for my boiler spares to arrive, message that it’s on the way within the next hour, wonder If I’ll hear the door or usual dump, photograph & run?

Not that much else was planned for today.

The hoped for breaded fish was in the freezer which provided last night’s dinner

I’ve taken a “portioned up” W8rose salmon fillet out to defrost for tonight’s, yet more fish, dinner

Your mentioning of bedding Caron has reminded me I need to put all the stuff back into the airing cupboard now the boiler has been serviced, but plenty of time to metaphorically kick that can down the road :)

Lunch, has to be toast somehow, grilled cheese maybe?

Dinner, the defrosted salmon fillet, pan fried in butter, with use up salad & boiled baby spuds

    Good evening everyone,
That's me back in CFO land for the next 3-4 weeks.
Back to wet & wild here today though mildish. Tesco order arrived with only one sub - haslet for corned beef. I've not had haslet for years and I enjoyed a couple of slices in a sandwich with lettuce and gherkins for lunch. It's only a small pack so just enough left for another sandwich over coming days.
I was pooch sitting this afternoon but apart from that not been up to much, mainly trying to not get in the way while DS2 got organised lol!
AF breaded cod fillet for dinner with HM wedges (LO and frozen from earlier in the week) and some nuke steamed veg so minimal prep. I'm just about to marinade a couple of chicken thighs for a traybake tomorrow and then I'll catch up on "Masterchef the Professionals" with a glass of red.  :)

ETA - always helps to have taken the chicken out of the freezer doh! Never mind it will be fine with a few hours marinating tomorrow.
