    Good morning everyone,
Back to damp and grey here. Quite mild but I'd much rather cold and sunny.
Tesco are due in a bit and I have a log delivery arriving at some point today. No doubt the two will coincide lol!
After that it's voluntary admin as I'm trying to get everything ready for the annual audit at the end of the month and I'm ploughing through squillions of petty cash receipts. Not a hard job but it makes me a bit cross-eyed after a while so lots of tea breaks will be  needed.
The organised firework display has been cancelled due to COVID concerns so I'm expecting lots of random bangs tonight, that said it has been very quiet firework wise so far. Following the horrible gas explosion in Ayr there's been a plea not to let off fireworks as many of the affected families are still very shocked and there's definitely been fewer going off than usual.
Food is tbc probably a sandwich for lunch and a freezer rake for dinner though I might copy Farway and make an omelette.

  • Posh fishfingers (Waitrose chunky cod ones from the 3 for £10 deal), baked beans, bread and butter for lunch - not had fishfingers for ages, really enjoyed them.

Made sausage, leek and mushroom pasta tonight - I always really enjoy cooking it and it is very tasty 😋

Another long week done, looking forward to a chilled weekend…

Thanks for the tip re the Christmas slot Farway, I checked the W8itrose gammon and have moved my slot back a day to get it thanks 🙂  for their W8itrose card discount it shows a little picture of the card with some initials next to it

It was my sisters 60th birthday yesterday so we breakfast / brunch at the local strawberry farm this morning and because I know how to treat a person we had our flu jab at the walk-in clinic our surgeries were offering this afternoon. Either of us are due out CV booster until the beginning of December.

I came home via the garden centre as I received a email re 50% off plants to clear space for Xmas trees.  I wanted a white swan anemone and was lucky to find one 😁 it doesn't look much  because it will die back. There was a board outside their farm shop from their butcher offering half price leg of lamb, so I now have a large leg of local lamb cut in half in my freezer, they were also trying local goat to see if it sells so I have some diced goat leg for curry and was talked into their faggots as he had made a odd number so there was a pack of 3 discounted 🙂 all have been tucked in the freezer, he's promised Dexter beef in two or three weeks from his own cows so one to keep a eye out for it🙂

A family friend was cooking a birthday dinner tonight, both my nephews were there plus the eldest GF. I've eaten far to much 😁 the chocolate cake was the final straw 😬

It's flu jab day for me, just popping in to update
Brambling, thanks for the W8rose card clue, at the moment it's not allowing me to sign in but no doubt it'll be sorted later, I just checked th gammon offer dates, yep I'd beter get a move on as well

They are nice aren't they? And seem to be on offer quite frequently which is good

As mentioaned off for my jab, then I'll get some milk from Costcutter and YS mooch while in there, last time it was whole YS chicken. I'd like a cauliflower but very hit & miss quality in there so I'll see

I had a loaf in the panny on timer overnight and have just taken it out for lunch time sarnie, probably cheese + ??
Dinner, if nothing YS in Costcutter it'll be freezer rooting, I have a million frozen bangers and mountain of spuds so maybe bangers & mash?

    Good morning everyone,
The weather is foul here this morning - battering with rain and blowing a gale. Doubt I'll be straying until this evening when we are heading to my sister's for a meal to celebrate my nephew's birthday.
Must be FF week as I bought some yesterday (Tesco Finest), was going to have some last night but ended up with pie, baked spud and veg instead.

Update, flu jabbed but only YS was 50p fake ham slices, bought them anyway & had for lunch

Brambling, just updated my W8rose list and sorted delivery, the salmon fillet lump is also on offer, £7.50, which divis up nicely, one in my basket along with the gammon, I left a sub note if no fillet give me another gammon :D , cheeky but that's what i'd do in store

BTW, I see they have updated the delivery notes, drivers will bring indors & unpack now. No prizes for guessing what I also added to the delivery note :o ?

Thank you I had missed the salmon offer Farway, it's now been added to the order, as you say usually four nice portions from it

How come you're allowed to put the initials for fishfingers Caronc and I get !!!! 😁

unexpected trip out the Cat Protection (approx 50 mile round trip) to take my elderly friend who lost her last cat in June to look at one. I knew she would get another cat even after she said never again 😁 she's been sensible and has chosen a 10 year old cat and luckily for me they will deliver it so I don't have to go back next weekend. She was chatting and filling out paperwork for 90 mins 🙄 I resisted temptation so many cute cats and one really determined to get my attention, his lordship needs to be a only cat so I sat on my hands   o:) by the time I took her around the pet store It was 3pm before I got home for a very late lunch

Lunch was a ham and cheese roll. I also forgot to take dinner from the freezer so dinner was jacket potato with tuna Mayo and salad

Just dull & bit breezy out this morning, sort of Meh, why bother? by the look of it

glad you added the salmon Brambling, and be handy for the coming season if visitors arrive
I suspect Caron is allowed FF because she avoided the plural S on the end. Soon see when I post this

The Asda glazed gammon was very nice, plenty of LOs. It is not ideal from my ethical POV, non UK for a start and had added water, non the less it was very tasty and dead easy to cook. As I'm unable to go out shopping or lug it home I'm really at their mercy so it's something I'll just live with

Lunch today will be last of the YS Costcutter ham stuff in a sarnie
Dinner, more ham, the Asda glazed one this time, with HM AF chips & salad

    Good morning everyone,
Goodness it never even crossed my mind that FF might get pulled! I must have lived a sheltered life
I had a lovely night at my sister's, she really pulled out the stops with a tapas feast followed by a  Nigella recipe Guinness cake which was superb. After the food we played Taskmaster, I was Greg lol! The kids had planned to head to the pub for an hour but was late by the time we finished the game and the weather was horrible so they didn't bother.
I would really have liked a lie in this morning but my body clock had other ideas, a nap is definitely on the cards this afternoon. Scrambled egg I think for lunch and roast chook for dinner. I have a whole one in the fridge but will remove the legs & wings and just roast the crown so that there's not too many LOs.

I made the mistake of checking my work email this afternoon over 500 unread so I sat down with a cuppa and some biscuits and picked out the ones that could be deleted or just needed reading without actioning, I still have just over 200 to go through but will deal with those tomorrow 🙄

I had a some eggs which had to be used so boiled them, lunch was egg, cress and ham roll. I took out a half chicken from the freezer so dinner was chicken, roast parsnip and fennel, mash potato and French beans.  I added chopped herbs under the skin of the chicken
