    Evening all

it's getting cold enough now to start thinking that the heating needs to go on 😐 I wasn't sure if we had a light frost or heavy dew this morning and cba to go out and check  :)

My sister left this morning so back to CFO, TBH his lordship and I were ready to have the house back to ourselves 😁

Lunch was a couple of buttered crumpets, I brought a pack and we never got around to eating them so they will either appear over the next couple of days or be frozen. Dinner was a stirfry using LO roast pork and vegetables with rice and a sauce I probably couldn't reproduce if I tried 😁

  • Morning everyone. Forgot to post last night before falling asleep.

Was definitely frosty here, office day yesterday and I had to scrape the car 🥶

Took some more of the chicken and orzo to nuke for lunch and it was early tea before swimming of beans with toast.

Today will be good old scrambled eggs and mushrooms on toasted bagel for lunch. Jacket spud with veg chilli and cheese tonight 😋

'morning all, definately a frost on the cars this morning, no mistaking it for dew today Brambling. I looked out during night and it was crystal clear with stars and thought then that's a frosty morning due

Oooh, crumpets, now I need some ASAP :) , ideal for this weather. Must pop some of the next list

Yesterday's chicken & mush soup turned out to be one of my good ones, and I've found AF croutons are easy peasy never fail. I suspect the garlic lovers [I claim exemption here] would like them prepped with garlic first.
I'll have to think of something herby I could add during prep.
It did cross my mind they'd make a great crisp / peanut like snack to dip into watching TV and getting fatter by the hour

    Today's meals
Lunch, fresh loaf for a sarnie, think it could be egg, fried or ? depending if the yolk breaks when I crack it
Dinner, last of the LO roast chicken, with salad or steamed veg depending how I feel

    Good afternoon everyone,
Frost here this morning and still chilly but lovely and sunny.
Had a wrestle with the hoover and now having a much needed cuppa. My sister's pooch doesn't half shed a lot of hair! Will mop through after lunch. HM soup again for lunch and tonight I'm making cheesy chilli meatballs for dinner.

I've never made croutons in the AF one to try 😋

Definitely frost today although the windscreen seem to clear quickly. I succumbed and put the heating on this afternoon, I was ok when I was moving but I got cold when sitting down this afternoon. It's not on high just enough to take the chill off.  A pottering day at home other than a couple of hours with a cuppa with my sister this evening

lunch was a couple of crumpets with cheese and tomatoes.  Dinner was the last of the LO pork with bubble and squeak

Back to dull with a cold wind this morning, the hearting came on again before I got up, thank goodness for timers & thermostats

Today is a rinse & repeat food day
Lunch scrambled eggs on toast, and I found the cracked one Asda slipped in the box, grrrr :s , despite me checking at the door. Shouldn't really moan because the last one I found they refunded the full price of the dozen eggs so I suppose they are in credit by ten eggs now

Dinner, use up the HM chicken & mush soup, with more AF croutons, very easy in AF Brambling, plus of course get to peek until they are just right
I put the diced bread into a poly bag & tip olive oil in and gently shake it about and into AF.

If I had some sort of flavouring I'd put that in the poly bag at same time, really need whatever they use in crisps. I know you can get fruit or baking flavourings, vanilla, strawberry etc, I mean savoury ones like cheese or chicken. I may try adding some dried mixed herbs tonight and see how that goes

    Afternoon everyone,
Dried mixed herbs sound good Farway, sage, oregano or rosemary would work well I think .
Frosty here again this morning and still only a chilly 7C. It's supposed to get milder overnight.
I'm enjoying a cuppa and a sit down after giving the bathroom a good scrub and will finalise tomorrow's Tesco order in a bit and give the fridge a wipe out.
LO pasta for lunch and veg chilli from the freezer with baked spuds & grated cheese for dinner.

Thanks Farway, I'll make some herbs next time I make soup 🙂

I had a hair appointment lunchtime and picked up my lovely new boots when I was in town as well as some YS fruit and veg in M&S to save going in at the weekend.  I didn't want to carry anymore back to the car (perhaps I should have wore the boots and carried my trainers 🤔🙄) so went into T Exp for milk and was led astray by half price YS chicken thighs and a lovely thick rump steak, I ignored the other YS stuff (there was a lot) as I had stocked up in M&S with what I needed.  Fridge and freezer topped up and no need to go to a SM for a while 🙂

Lunch was early due to my hair appointment so I grabbed a banana and Greek yogurt at 11.30.  I had a couple of disappointing mince pies YS from M&S when I got home the pasty was too thick so they have been frozen for now.  Dinner was pan fried salmon, new potatoes, wilted spinach and broccoli

I booked a Christmas Asda slot last week copying a previous order so tonight I rejigged it for Christmas with a few treats 😁. I also booked a W8itrose slot for a couple of weeks time, it seems they are doing what Tesco is doing and offering more offers with your Waitrose card, 20% off frozen food, herbs and their veggie range, they still have their 3 for £10 offer so I've topped up.  My sister will give me a list for both especially the Christmas slot.

  • Posh work-provided lunch today (this is a very rare occurrence in this job!) so just a tuna sandwich and some carrot sticks for tea 😀

Sunny morning and a tad milder, which is good because today may be a use up salad day

Brambling, just to warn if not aware, the Asda Christmas slot. I have one and went to amend it, add a few bits in, but then it wanted to combine my current basket into the Christmas one, finished up a right mess with a million pints of milk [slight exageration]. I had to clear the current basket to keep the Christmas one. Very annoying, my current basket just has a packet of paxo in it now :(

Having given up with Asda I went over to W8rose for the on line experience, I think I'll crib your idea of grabbing a slot a few weeks ahead Brambling. BTW the gammon is back on 1/3 offer, with one in my basket already. Never spotted a card discount but I'll have a closer look.

Today's food, lunch is a cheese toastie
Dinner, use up eggs, including the broken one, cheese omlette with use up salad and LO boiled baby spuds, maybe "chipped" in the AF
