All this inherting stuff, I've nothing to speak of, the decendants from the posh side of the family had that, we got the pauper side stuff :( and my mum was very much chuck out that old junk school of thought so nothing survived
The clutter I inherited isn't worth much either, the family tree on my mums side shows a fallen out where the money went to the children of the second marriage.  My mum thought someone was a distant cousin and it turned out he was her great uncle 🙄 her family had long memories and bore grudges so regularly changed wills. Family history shows there was money and a title on my paternal grandmother's side unfortunately we were the wrong side of the civil war and quickly went from titled to farm labours 🙂 long forgotten by my generation.

Just the two of us working today and more major IT issues not helped by our IT support 'disappearing' and the business freaking out as it's end of the month 🙄  I handed the mess to our business 'experts' at 8pm and switched off so I can't see the chaos.  Nothing on my to do list was done and I have one day before I'm off until the 8th Nov 🙂

Only a couple of sub on the shopping including a lot larger pork joint which they included in the 3 for £10 offer, not a good shape to half but it has a long enough date to cook when my sister is here and maybe invite by other sis and nephew

Lunch was half a twice baked butternut squash (cooked inners removed and mixed with yoghurt and Parmesan and popped back in the oven) which I cooked yesterday when the oven was on, with gammon also cooked yesterday. I cba to sort dinner not even pinging LOs which was intended, dinner was yoghurt, figs and blueberries and a boiled egg. I boiled eggs this morning as I forgot to remove from my delivery.

Ooh, that's what I hope for when I order the 3 for tenner, I had a large chicken sub and a free joint once but I'm still not certain if it was free or just the way the system billed it. Anyway I've ordered and delivery is Thursday, plus Veg suet suddenly back in stock so that's on the way, plus Sage & onion stuffing, OOS last time, I hoped they'd sub Paxo for Smart Price but they subbed a garlic one instead :'(

Meals, I'm starting to accrue stale loaf ends so could be a small bread pud on the way soon
Lunch, probably grilled cheese on toast
Dinner, now the suet situation looks resolved I think I'll have a bash at the bacon & onion roly poly, baked not steamed. I may ponce it up with some chopped spuds, which aparently then makes it a Badger or Clanger depending where you live
Not sure of the veg to go with because I've not a lot in until Thursday so could be frozen

    Good morning everyone,
Has to be onions in a mustardy white sauce and peas with bacon & onion roly poly for me Farway. I've not made one of these for at least 20 years! My Mum used to use bacon fat to make the sauce roux and it gave it a lovely flavour.  :)
Wet and wild here this morning and feeling quite chilly, certainly not so far the mild day forecasted!
L&P soup for me for lunch, DS2 is having LO pasta bake. He's cooking tonight - Chicken Chasni and rice.

No work now until the 8th 😁 I'm hoping the system issues will have all been resolved by then, we all left on time tonight in a lull between issues. I had my out of office message ready to turn on all afternoon, I know my priorities 🙂

it's been quite mild here today, i pottered in the garden for a half hour lunch time and really didn't want to come in 🙂.

Lunch was the same as yesterday, half a twice baked butternut squash with gammon and some LO tenderstem broccoli.  Dinner also LOs this time a beef roast dinner without the potatoes.  It took some searching to find where I had put the horseradish which was delivered yesterday (I unpack in a rushed)

I'm sitting watching bake-off and they are deep frying Choux pastry before filling like a donut not something I've seem before and something my arteries would prefer I never try 😬

Another dull but mild morning but no garden pottering for me, somehow I've twisted my ankle by just doing nothing except loll around & watch TV keeping abreast of current affairs. I'll rest my foot some more :)

The bacon & Onion roly poly was a fail, not 100% fail, just the roly bit, like Caron it's years since I made one and when it came to rolling up my pastry kept splitting / sticking and generally mis behaving.
In the end I made it into a jumbo pasty style thing which turned out fine if a bit odd looking, real CFO presentation
It was so huge that I decided nothing else was required and I just had the ends. Spuds were already inside the monster, pasty style
    I have LOs of course

Had message from Asda, they have listed some of my order which is in short supply and I have time to amend it. Nah, fingers crossed for larger chicken and larger bottle of oil for same price. :D
Someone mentioned not liking going back to amend because items get struck off when checking out again. I'm the same now unless delivery a week or so away I'll take my chances, at least they let me know of subs before arrival so I can send the garlic ones back with the driver

I've been browsing on line cheese suppliers, very tempting for Christmas with so many to try but not cheap. Just have to make sure I've a good stock of cream crackers in.

Packet cheese & onion bread just out of the Panny and smelling gorgeous, lunch today is Ploughman style using that and last of the salad bits before tomorrow's delivery

Dinner, LO bacon + onion thing, mayube warmed up with some baked beans?

    Good morning everyone,
    Enjoy your days off Brambling.
Roly poly pasty sounds good to me Farway  :)
Wet & wild here today with weather warnings for flooding and wind. It's dry at the moment so when I finish my cuppa I'll get the bin run done and bring in some logs before the weather worsens. I'm pooch sitting this afternoon but I reckon it will be a short walk for him this evening, he might love living Scotland rather than the streets of Athens but he not keen on the wild weather!
My butcher's order should arrive this afternoon and assuming all is present and correct that will be Christmas dinner covered. Tomorrow I'll start to make up the squillons of kiltie sausages (pigs in blankets) that my family seem to hoover up. I'll freeze them in 12s in case we get lockdowned again!
Finally got a hold of the roofer who is coming out tomorrow to do a pre-winter check and also look at my bay window roof which DS2 thinks might need re-leaded. It's been patched a few times over the years but never replaced and it's probably the original 110+ year old frame and underpin so it's had a good innings.
I thoroughly enjoyed the chicken chasni DS2 cooked last night and we have planned leftover sauce to have with sausages tonight. Lunch will be the last of the L&P soup.

I've memories of my mother making a bacon rolypoly but it's not something I've made, you may have tempted me to try a jam roly poly 😁

hope the ankle is feeling better Farway

Grey but dry day here, I've been pottering indoors getting the place ready for inspection, my sister is as bad as my mum for that 🙄. I did get side tracked by the book case in the spare bedroom 🙂

Next door have been Halloween decorating, I got a surprise when I went out to the rubbish lunchtime. I've also realised why so many kids have been stopping outside this week and looking towards the houses, the school has a treasure hunt and they have a poster in their window for that 🙂 the little girl goes to the primary school around the corner

I decided I need to have last meals from the LO meat and then freeze what was left.  Lunch was a beef horseradish sandwich,  Dinner gammon, AF chips and broccoli

'morning all, just a quickie before my Asda delivery arrives, everything I ordered is there, no subs, missing items or super sized joints of meat
I have a Hermes parcel on the way as well, it's only a PC lead which could go throgh letter box but depends how it's packed I guess
Very dull & windy out but I see from telly you may have buckets of rain & floods today Caron, hope you & the poch keep warm & dry at least

Apart from the deliveries nothing else planned althogh I'm still mucking about updateing computers since one died, but the urgency has passed now

I think lunch could be a sausage sarnie, there's some bangers in my order so why not?
Dinner, last of the LO bacon & onion thing, with use up tinned spaghetti. I opened spaghetti in error yesterday :o ,

    Good morning everyone,
Still wet and wild here but slightly less so than yesterday, I'm not sure that the roofer will appear though unless the wind dies back a bit.
Butcher's order arrived as expected and we had some of their rather good sausages for dinner last night. Today I'll get the vac packer out and get the stuff I want portioned sorted out then it will be a case of freezer tetris to get it all stashed! Christmas meats are now covered though I've still to sort out something for New Year.
Dinner LOs for lunch. I'm CFO for dinner as DS2 is off to see DS1, I'll decide later what to have but mushrooms will be probably feature.

    Good morning everyone,
And the rain came tumbling down......... It's absolutely tipping it down here and has been for several hours without a pause. The bottom of my garden is flooded so it will be wellies if I decide to do a bin trip.
Tesco are due soon and then it's domestics and sorting out the butcher's order.
Last night I had a portion of mushroom & leek cannelloni that had been lurking in the freezer for a while with some chestnut mushrooms baked in foil. Food today is tbc, probably a toastie for lunch and another freezer rake for dinner.
