A very wet night, with thunder & maybe hail sometime today, just gloomy outside, ideal for doing nowt except drink tea and snuggle down with a magazine, or go mad watching You Tube

Woke up early, maybe the rain woke me? Anyway failed to get back to sleep so up in the dark, at least I now have a loaf in the Panny which may be fine for lunch

I had a look at the W8rose delivery slots, now into mid Nov so I may grab one for a W8rose top up just in case, their Christmas ones have long gone but hopefully this year will not be as chaotic as last year was with supermarket delivery slots, but I notice hints are being heavily dropped about another lock down, plan B etc maybe coming soon

it sounds like all your electricals are dieting at once Farway  :s I fear my fridge freezer, washing machine and TV are all on borrowed time and unfortunately all about the same age approx 14/15 years.  I need to ensure I can put all my frozen food in the new freezer which means no more batch cooking 😁

The auto correct still playing up Brambling :D ? That's a good age for modern electricals, at least they have lasted longer then my new PC
I wonder how long heat pumps last? More of theoretical question really because given my age it is very unlikely I'll ever find out, or care! :)

Lunch, scrambled eggs on toast is likely, I've run out of mushrooms so just eggs today
Dinner, unsure, now I have fresh bread I may just settle on a salad type sarnie

    Good morning everyone,
It's the AH "Meals in Minutes" book I dig out recently Brambling, I used to use it lots when the boys were young and it's good to revisit some old favourites.
I can lob you some mushrooms Farway, I have too many!
After thunder & lightning and terrible rain yesterday it's dry here this morning though very damp and grey.
Domestics and voluntary admin are a bout the sum of my plans for the day.
HM soup for lunch. I'm CFO this evening so have a slice of HM chicken & mushroom pie defrosting. I'll have it with a LO baked spud from the batch I cooked on Sunday and various veg.

It's not so much the spell checker on my tablet Farway, but a combination of my fat fingers, neglecting to read it over and the tablet has a mind of it's own 😁 I glad the new PC is up and ready

I was awake between 1am - 2am listening to the bad weather which continued until  lunchtime. It's thundering now I popped out for a hour at 7pm and when I left my friends house at 8pm i was surprised by the heavy rain, It did stop enough lunch time to dismantle my runner bean wigwams and have the pleasant surprise of a large handful of runners hiding in one of them, nice size too 😁

lunch was the last of the Brighton blue with crackers and tomatoes.  Dinner LO mutton casserole, dumpling, sweetheart cabbage and new potatoes

I meant to say Farway Waitrose Christmas bookings for my postcode start the 20th December and are already all booked up.  Luckily I go to family / friends Christmas Day and Boxing Day so don't usually stock up anything different from usual

It chucked it down yesterday evening & night, all over now & the sun's out

Today will be spent mainly getting new PC up & running with my usual programmes, luckily I've backups avaliable and they just need installing and still trying to get the spell checking sorted

I'm in much same position as you and W8rose, but do tend to stock up with some things because of vegetarians, Quorn & garlic eaters everywhere in the family, thus gammon joints / ham sarnies and the like are sadly missing unless I get them

    Today's meals
Lunch, thinking of tinned sardines sarnie
Dinner, I have W8rose jumbo fish fingers defrosting, plus nuke LO mash, and probly with some side salad

Just had phone call from Dr, all booked for my Booster & Flu jabs, nice & local as well :)

    Good morning everyone,
Glad you got your new PC up and running Farway, Spelling - what's that? LOL
Sunny here this morning but very cold, it was quite frosty first thing.
More domestics and admin for me today. It's that time of year with my voluntary admin where it fees a bit like a "proper" job!
Last of the HM soup for lunch and I've HM lamb jalfrezi defrosting for dinner. Just need to cook some rice later. I'm heading to friend's tomorrow for a takeaway and a catch up, if I cba I might make some tablet to take with me otherwise DS2 will be getting dispatched to buy a bunch of flowers.
  • Much colder today, no idea what is going on with the weather at the moment…

In the office so lunch was soup (broccoli and Stilton, more by luck than anything as it looks just the same as the celery one when frozen). Pesto roast salmon, new potatoes and tomatoes with green beans tonight.

I had a text from NHS re my flu jab and was told to ring my doctor for a appointment, however if you call the surgery the message is don't us we'll call you.  I hoping I don't have to wait until my CV booster as that is December.  I may wander to the chemist I get my prescription from and see if they have any.  I did try and get through to the surgery as I'm due a blood test but after 15 mins of you're caller number 8 it cut me off 🙄

The rain also cleared here this morning after a very wet night, i went to vote for our council by-election lunchtime and it was nice and warm out and a enjoyable walk.  it's been a day of meetings so the walk was needed 🙂 I chilled enough that I was only slightly sarcastic when I reminded our American colleagues that the rest of the world used our system too so we wouldn't make big changes just to please them 🙄

lunch was a portion of ratatouille from the freezer with a sprinkle of cheese. Dinner Nasi Goreng with loads of veg and LOs for tomorrow 🙂
