I know what the FF plus an S stands for but didn’t know abbreviations (even rude ones) were banned caronc and Brambling 😂
MIA yesterday as out to bonfire and fireworks last night. Supper at a friends afterwards…the queue for refreshments at the event was rather long! Lunch was falafels and houmous in a pitta.
Swimming today so avocado and poached eggs on toast when I got back. Made gnocchi with creamy bacon, broccoli and Stilton sauce tonight 😋0 -
Bright & sunny outside, looks like it would be a nice day for a stroll in the sunshine with a camera instead I'll have to settle to a puffing & panting bimble down the garden and maybe scrump some of the neighbour's apples that could fall off into a carrier bag I may be carrying at the timeThey never pick them, just let them fall & rot so in a way I'm being very Green and COP26 compliantBrambling, sounds a nightmare with that number of e mails, luckily I left work before e emails became an avalanche, mine was the overflowing in tray era. From what I read a lot of office e mails are ar5e covering copies to be trotted out come the "Heads must roll" investigation.
Or am I being too cynical?
The glazed gamon is lasting well, plenty still left but having a change today, I've a LO HM savoury mince defrosting for dinnerLunch, maybe grilled cheese on toast?Eight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -
Good morning everyone,
It's one thing I don't miss about working is coming back from leave to a full email In Box!! Hope today isn't too challenging Brambling.
Yes JKS some words and abbreviations get modded even if used appropriately. I got ticked off for using a word to describe using the tines of a fork to make indentations on top of shortbread when sharing my recipe & method.
And still it rains...... At least the wind has died back a bit but it's still pretty lousy. Thankfully I managed to nip to the bin in a brief pause in the deluge but it's absolutely tipping it down now. Just the weather for a bowl of the lentil & bacon soup I have simmering on the hob for lunch. Yesterday DS2 cooked an aubergine & potato curry so that's dinner tonight covered, just need to cook some rice to have with it.0 -
I like simplify things if I can so for breakfast I like granola cereals, they are fulfilling, for a lunch noodles and dinner just some fruits.0

I booked my CV booster shot for 12th December using the on booking service, not in town but only 7 miles away and my sister has the slot before mine so we will go together. I'm a bit sniffly today but think that's the flu jab rather than anything else.
lunch should have been a portion of tomato and sweet potato soup from the freezer but it didn't defrost in the fridge so I had a repeat of yesterday's egg, cress and ham roll. Dinner was LO chicken and chips with green veg. I made chicken stock today using a small chicken carcass from the freezer and the half carcass from yesterday I'll skim it tomorrow and make chicken soup 😋

Made a batch of harissa roasted butternut and sweet potato couscous yesterday so some of that with feta for lunch today. Finally used up the halloumi tonight with Mexican rice and chipotle dressing 😋0 -
Sun’s just popped out, makes the world look a lot better with the autumn leaves.
Still compiling my Asda shopping despite having ordered W8rose, now I know not to get the Christmas updates mixed in with current list very much a first world problem right there, I’ve bunged a Christmas pud on, just in case it all fails over DD’s, and CPs keep for years if not used
Food today, I fancy tinned mackerel fillets grilled on toast for lunch
Dinner, the LO glazed gammon, with HM AF chips, fried eggs & some baked beans should do nicely and help clear some space for the next shopping delivery

Good morning everyone,
I'm almost scared to say in I jinx things but it has finally stopped raining!!
More voluntary admin on the cards again today and for the next week or so. It's the time of year when it feels more like a proper job than a voluntary lift and lay role but it keeps me out of mischief and the old grey matter functioning so I don't mind.
I'm trying to sort out a CFO shopping list/meal plan (something I'm well out of practice with these days) as this Friday DS2 is heading back to his own place for a few weeks as he has a diary full of site visits lined up. A beef stew will definitely feature along with few other dishes that he's not so keen on. It will be the longest I'll have been CFO since January 2020!!
HM lentil soup for me for lunch and DS2 has bagged the LO curry from last night for his. Tonight it's Cajun spiced pork steaks with onions, peppers, corn and baked spuds.

I'm sure neither of you expected to still be living together Caronc it's been a unusual 20 months
Normal boring Tuesday today although I have booked some things to watch at our local theatre, the national theatre are starting their live on screen showing again so are the Met opera, I know if there is another lockdown they refund straight away 🙂
lunch was tomato and sweet potato soup which hadn't defrosted yesterday. Dinner was also soup but not a blended one, I made chicken soup from the stocking i made yesterday with added dumplings. The last of the carrots and 'old' potatoes I have some new potatoes so it can wait until the weekend. Simple CFO day here - second portion of harissa sweet potato and butternut couscous with feta for lunch. Beans with toast for early tea before swimming. Oh, and a Penguin with a cuppa whilst watching Bake Off 😉0
