  • Thanks, both - feeling better for the early night.

Grey but mild here today, not that I saw much of it in the office.

Lunch was the last of the freezer stash broccoli and Stilton soup with the end of the focaccia. Just made Thai green prawn, sugar snap and baby sweet corn curry served with noodles.

    I'm glad you're feeling better JKS  :)

I've woke up to a stiff elbow as well as a large black bruise thanks to the blood test yesterday, not sure what she was doing 🤨 not the worst bruising from a blood test, I'm difficult to get blood out of even with plenty of fluids and ensuring I don't get too cold arms.  One nurse must have gone through my vein (doctor's theory not mine) and my whole arm was one black bruise from watch strap to where she tied the strap at the top, looked lovely all that Christmas  :'(

My arm wasn't too sore to prune lunchtime to fill my garden bin for collection tomorrow, autumn pruning/ tidying.  I AF some LO new potatoes when I was in the garden so lunch was a fried egg with chips.  Dinner was pasta with a portion of tomato, vegetable and nduja sausage pasta sauce from the freezer.

Brambling - I had to apologise last time I went for a blood test at short notice as I hadn't had time to hydrate or make sure I was warm. We had fun... maximum permissible attempts in both arms. I hate it when they start eyeing up my legs...

Alternating soup/salad/stuff from the freezer here.

Dull weather again but bright part was getting my feet done this morning. Then collect prescription & Costcutter for eggs & YS mini pork pies @ 50p

Hospital doubled some of my pills, back in a month or so to see if they are working as intended although I was talking to someone this morning whose wife has similar and she is up & down with the medication, fingers crossed it’s not my future

Waiting to see who my new electricity supplier is, my old one Neon Reef, went bust on Tuesday, luckily I’m in credit by about the right monthly amount as the bill so should be easy enough & not owed loads by them

Lunch was two of the mini pork pies with some mustard

Dinner, could be the same because I’m not very hungry at all

  • Bit croaky today so glad of a wfh day with no meetings and only a few calls. Finally finished a task that has been hanging over me as well as lots of other bits so a good day. And there’s a new list waiting for me on Monday…

Lunch was a posh fishfinger sandwich with sliced gherkins and aioli - good job I’m CFO 😂

Miso roasted courgette tonight (had planned aubergine but sainsbugs let me down and I CBA to go anywhere else) served with rice and stir fried baby corn and sugar snap peas.

    Happy weekend everyone!

    Good evening everyone,
Late on parade today, I was signed out the site and when I signed back and tried to post kept getting chucked out!
Not much to report, it's been a fairly quiet day though I did eventually manage to get a COVID booster appointment for the 21st December. I'd have liked it sooner but it will need to do as I want it done locally.
Corned beef hash yesterday was gorgeous, I baked it in a shallow dish so there was lots of crispy bits.  :) Two unbaked portions have been frozen. I had it with Bisto gravy, steamed carrots & peas.
Tesco delivery today with no subs but the largest Pink Lady apple I've seen for a long time so that was mainly lunch along with a toasted bagel topped with a smidge of cream cheese.
I took chicken wings out to defrost yesterday so having those tonight with roasted sweet potato and some steamed green beans.

This morning started with a Skype from my manager that the system had fallen over again at 7am so we wasted half the day, it was back up but flaky this afternoon so we all paid heed to the boss and switched off at 5pm and escaped before something else went wrong 😁

Lunch was egg and crab stick sandwich. Dinner was a portion of ragu from the freezer, I'm working my way through the little lurking pots in the freezers, unfortunately not labelled so it's a bit potluck between tomato and vegetable sauce, ragu or ratatouille 😁 i labelled the bigger containers 🙄

My left hoof is playing up again, very painful and hobbling around the house yesterday and this morning like a 108 year old, if it doesn’t improve by next week it could time for doctor because I can’t take Ibuprofen or such like as they clash with my current tablets

I’m wondering if I’m sickening for something as I was a bit shivery as well and off my food, nice Christmas present :( . At least with CFO I can just loll around without needing “cheering up” by anyone

Today’s weather is ideal for lolling around indoors, it’s grey & manky

Food today, nothing planned, I suspect I’ll pick at things, a cracker here, bit of cheese there, nibble a lump of LO bread pud etc. Where's the box of choccies when you need them?

    Good afternoon everyone,
Sorry you are feeling rubbish Farway, a loll on the sofa sounds like a good plan.
Dull & drizzling here so far but it's supposed to clear later and get very chilly tonight.
I'm pooch sitting until this evening as my sis is off to Glasgow to meet up with some friends for a late lunch.
I've LO chicken wings for lunch and have some venison mince, pork mince and haggis defrosting for a burger tonight and will make either meat balls or a ragu with the surplus mince tomorrow. The venison mince has been in the freezer since well before COVID so I'm hoping it's okay. It was vac packed so should be fine.
  • Very lazy Saturday here - pile of ironing cleared and a food shop done but other than that, a whole lot of not very much…

Lunch was scrambled eggs and mushrooms on toasted bagel. Pizza, coleslaw and wine with Strictly tonight 🙃
