I hope you are feeling better Farway
it's been a grey but mild day, I needed to pick up my prescription so went into town late morning. I didn't need to go into the SM but picked up some items in Savers, Wilkos and £shop i wandered through the Farmers market, resisting the cake / bakery stalls which seem to be multiplying. I came home via then Farm shop at the garden centre to see if their butcher had any beef cheeks, they only had a pack of two which were frozen so those are now in my freezer, there will be a lot of left overs when I do cook them 🤨
I didn't get home until 2pm so lunch was a cheese, apple and crackers. My sister came around for dinner I cooked the half side of salmon and made a vegetable fried rice with loads of veg, she must of enjoyed it as there is less LO salmon than expected 😁Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -
Bright and sunny with a breeze clearing the leaves off the trees
My foot is still painful but seems to be easing slightly; luckily I do not have anywhere that I need to be in the coming week so I will be able to rest it while it mends, still no idea what caused it
I did finish up picking at food from the fridge yesterday, and will do the same today, I have one LO portion of beef stew, plus bread pud & LO loaf for toast if I fancy it. Plus fruit both fresh & tinned, even found a tin of Ambrosia rice which is very tempting, wasn’t rice pudding old style invalid food?
Nothing else planned for today except more lolling around
Very handy that salmon Brambling, shame about LO shortageCheese, crackers & apple sounds like an option for me picking at food, especially as I have some nice HG fresh apples, my cheese selection is a bit limited, hoping to top up with more variety prior to Christmas but don't want it yet or I'll need to re order before Christmas

Good afternoon,
That doesn't sound too lazy to me JKS unless you are one of these folk that finds ironing relaxing!
Shame about the limited LOs Brambling but a compliment to the cook.
Glad you foot seems to be easing Farway hopefully another day of sofa lolling will help.
It's a gorgeous day here though very cold and there was a significant from here first thing. It's supposed to drop to -2C this evening!
I've had a reasonably productive morning - gave the stove a good clean and restocked the log pile, did some laundry, prepped veg to make ragu later and have red cabbage & onion braining in the baby SC.
The venison mince had suffered no ill effects from it's long freeze and I thoroughly enjoyed my venison, haggis and pork burger last night. I had it with a bun, HM red cabbage coleslaw and a corn cobette. There was enough burger mix to make up 12 meat balls which I'll cook, portion and freeze. There was spare venison & pork mince so they'll go into a ragu for tomorrow with pasta.
Lunch is going to be a bacon bagel with LO coleslaw. I've pork chop defrosted for tonight to have with braised red cabbage, baby spuds and green beans.0 -
Farway the cheese was thanks to a wandered through the farmers market and a nice piece of Brighton blue 🙂 I'll need to reserve some of his local cheeses for Christmas
I didn't sort my fridge last weekend before my shopping was delivered 😬 so pulled everything out today, cleaned it out and sorted through my veg boxes to ensure there was some logic to what was I each one. Whilst on a roll I did tidy the chest freezer, my hands were too cold to tackle the other one my joints object to the cold these days
My sisters' washing machine died today mid load so I did a couple of loads for her this evening and shared a cuppa when she came to pick it up
lunch was more of the Brighton blue this time with a pear and crackers. Dinner was roast beef, from Asda and although nice it shrank a lot more than the M&S one did and there wasn't a big difference in the price

I don’t mind ironing at all (second favourite domestic chore after pegging out) but mainly because I use it as an excuse to watch Saturday morning cookery shows while I do it 😉
Out for lunch today so just a smoked salmon sandwich and a glass of wine with the Strictly results tonight. I’ve also made a batch of spiced carrot and lentil soup which will do a couple of lunches this week plus some for the freezer, definitely more wintry here suddenly…0 -
Another bright & breezy day out, looks cold though
My foot is improving slowly, still limping & lolling around plus picking at food but I thoroughly enjoyed the crackers, apples & cheese for yesterday’s lunch, I also used the last of the LO beef stew so today is a clean sheet without Los
To add to my lolling capabilities I re-joined Netflix after a couple of years gap, looks like plenty there to catch up on
Today’s meals are very undecided, even lunch. I think there may be a half pizza sub in the freezer, if there is that’s lunch
Dinner, more freezer diving, there are some larger pizzas in there so maybe one of them will provide dinner with maybe cold LOs?
Thanks for tip about M & S beef Brambling, all being well with my foot I'm hoping to venture there this week, the car needs "top up battery" run and I need to buy some of their gift vouchers as Christmas boxes so intend taking the opportunity to mooch along the food aisles

Good morning everyone,
Not with you on enjoying ironing JKS it's one of least favourite chores and always has been. I avoid if I can though don't like the crumpled and prefer natural fibres especially in the summer so do have to gird my loins and tackle it every so often.
Must be freezer sorting weather Brambling as I've just finished giving my big freezer a good sort out. I've not sure I've created much space but it should be easier to find stuff. I'll tackle the smaller one this week at some point though it's not too bad.
I'm glad your foot is easing Farway hopefully some more lolling with help.
Properly frosty here today and still pretty icy in places, I can to be very vigilant doing the bin run to avoid slippy patches. It's supposed to cloud over later and not be quite so cold tonight. It was -2C when I headed to bed last night.
HM soup from the freezer for lunch and tonight it's pasta with some of the ragu I cooked yesterday so a nice easy one today.0 -

There was a frost this morning so I was glad not to be driving to work 🙂
I made turkey stock from a drumstick yesterday in the SC so skimmed the fat from it this morning and made a turkey soup for lunch 😋 one of my favourites 😁 Dinner was LO salmon and rice from Saturday, there is a small piece of salmon left which may be added to crab sticks or egg in a sandwich tomorrow lunchLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -
Ah yes, the joy of defrosting the car…expect I will have the pleasure tomorrow 🥶
Nice snug wfh day today although I did get out for a walk in the sunshine.
Lunch was jacket spud, cheese and coleslaw with salad. End of the mushrooms and end of some elderly Stilton in a creamy sauce with gnocchi tonight, served with the end of the sugar snap peas for some greenery.0 -
Bright but cold morning
Still picking at food, finished up with frozen four cheese pizza for dinner, without any LOs
The foot continues to play up, at last succumbed & phoned Dr, expecting a call back from him later this afternoon and see what goes from there
Food today is more picking and not cooking, I have half a HM loaf so lunch could be toast based, maybe wholesome like scrambled eggs or easy like marmalade
Dinner, slightly dependant on if I get to the Dr’s later, but will probably be a nuked frozen MFO
Brambling, gammon as well as beef added to my "if I get to M & S" list, thanks
Message arrived about my bust electricity supplier, I’ve been bumped over to British Gas, apart from price it’s the same stuff as far as I’m concerned, I never had need of customer services so until I do I’ll leave things as they’ve fallen
