Good afternoon everyone,
Glad the meds are beginning to help Farway.
Spent most of the morning on the phone, it was supposed to be my voluntary admin place's AGM this evening but it's had to be postponed due to lot of call offs. I can't say I'm devastated as we are forecast to get some foul weather from late afterenoon and I'd much rather be snuggled indoors than out and about.
LOs for lunch and tbc for dinner. I had planned to have some HM soup from the freezer when I got back so that might still be what I end up with.0 -
Brrr another cold day and when I put the bin out at 7.30pm tonight the car was beginning to frost
I hope the foot swelling is still reducing Farway 🙂
Another busy day at work but I did drop off at 5pm, finishing on time could easily become a habit
lunch was the last of the turkey soup. Dinner goat cutlets, new potatoes and green veg I made a quick gremolata to go over the cutlets
i meant to slow cook the gammon to day i was going to try it in cola, hopefully I'll remember tomorrow 🙄

Glad the foot is starting to improve Farway.Lovely cold, crisp, bright day here. Managed a few minutes out in it at lunchtime 🌞
More of the spiced carrot and lentil soup for lunch and reheated the last of the chicken and orzo from the freezer tonight, served with broccoli.
Day off tomorrow and there will be lunch out 😉0 -
Good morning everyone,
Hope your hoof continues to improve Farway.
Storm Arwen hit here yesterday evening bringing a very cold, wet and windy night with it. The rain has eased this morning but it's still very cold and windy. The stormy weather has had it's usual impact on my balance so I'm being cautious on my feet today though did manage to give the bathroom a clean without toppling.
Tesco are due soon so there will be shopping to put away but apart from that I'm not planning on doing a huge amount though might do some food prep later as DS1 & DIL-to-be are coming for a quick dinner tomorrow before heading to a 30th birthday do.
Sandwich or toastie for lunch and then probably breaded cod for dinner.0 -
Bright but windy, all set for the coming storm, our local forecast is even mentioning some snow overnight, I’ll be surprised if I get any right down here
And it was a surprise as I went on the scales this morning, lost ten pounds in the week !!
I reckon most of it is liquid though now the consultant has doubled the dose of my “water tablets”, some may be real fat though with my lack of appetite & nibbling menu this past week. Time will tell, and plenty left to use up
Out early collecting prescription & some milk, plus blast up the motorway to give the car a run and get up to heat, it’s been sat doing nothing for a fortnight so I’d hate to find when I need it next week it fails
Bought a couple of YS white soft rolls in Costcutter, with lunch in mind, one fried egg later and lunch was ready
Dinner, more freezer diving, could do with a stew but I don’t think there is one, maybe join Caron breaded cod & chips Friday?

Thanks for the update, don't think I've had an Asda beef joint recently, partly because it's often not British and obscure where it actually does come from. Far easier to skip it unless I was in there picking for myself.Hopefully M & S will provide if I get there next week, had to pull out of this week's intended trip because although The Foot continues to ease it still looks grotty and swolledn so unable to get a shoe on, so I'm the old bloke you see with a slipper on one foot, but at least an improvement from where it was

Far easier to skip it unless I was in there picking for myself. My gammon is still in the fridge uncooked, my sister came in early to drop off a couple of loads of washing, so I got sidetracked. Her car is currently showing a warning light which is going to be a expensive fix so she's borrowing my car next week as well 🙂 hopefully come Wednesday she will have a new washing machine and her car will be repaired 🤞. She needs a car for work, not sure why it's mine not my nephew's who walks to work 🤔 at least my car will have a good run for three days and I've reminded her she will need to fill it back up as she usually 'forgets' 🙄
She came back lunchtime to pickup her washing so lunch was scrambled egg on toast for both of us. Dinner was venison meatballs in a tomato and veg sauce from the freezer with noodlesLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -

I’m of similar mind Brambling, but Farm Shop is making special trip for me, actually I was in the other week post hospital visit, there were huge ribs of beef the size Henry VIII would have at a banquet, make ideal centre piece for those inclined. I settled for pack of FR organic streaky
Not much sign of the storm, dull, wet & windy but apart from that nowhere near as bad as other parts of the country, must have been cold though because my heating cut in during the night
Had promo from Able & C about cheese, I need to sort out some decent stuff for Christmas so that’s another option to check out, too early yet for me, it would never make the Great day if I bought it now
More lolling & Netflix today, my foot continues to improve but still hurts
Lunch will be the other YS soft roll with a fried egg in
Dinner, tempted by cheesy beans, or tinned spaghetti, on toast with couple of fried eggs on top. Not very adventurous but it’s easy and convenient

Good evening everyone,
Glad your foot continues to improve Farway.
We must of had the beginning of Storm Arwen on Thursday night and missed it in full throttle. It's been dry here today but never got above 3c with a minus "feels like" so it's been a cold one.
Today didn't get off to the best of starts when I got to a notification from my banking app to approve a debit card transaction I hadn't made. Most of the morning was spent getting the card cancelled and changing passwords!
The day picked up after that when DS1 & DIL-to-be came for lunch and we had a lovely few hours together. I made a chicken, chickpea and chorizo stew and they brought a delicious rye baguette from an Eastern European bakery near their flat. They're not long away, I've tidied up and I'm now contemplating a glass of wine. There's LO stew which I'll sort out for the freezer tomorrow. I won't need dinner and will have a couple of crackers and cheese if I'm hungry later.

Has been really cold and rainy here, and we’ve had some wet snow but nowhere near as bad as it could have been - the winds weren’t as high as forecast. Unfortunately the Christmas market event was cancelled in anticipation of them so we ended up with an indoor picnic lunch of lovely things from the farm shop deli 😋
Made one of my favourite solo dinners tonight - steak with spiced spinach, butter beans, coriander and feta - it’s an old Matt Tebbutt recipe from the Waitrose magazine, highly recommended…1 -

I woke 2am this morning and had to shut the window, it was really cold and the wind was blowing straight in 💨 🥶 the day has been wet, windy and very cold but no sign of snow down here yet
Too yuck to do much other than go to my sister for a cuppa and natter and pop into T Exp for milk and bananas on the way back.
lunch was leek and potato soup from the freezer. I finally cooked the gammon tonight although in the oven rather than with cola in the SC and had for dinner with AF chips and a egg
