    Good morning everyone,
Happy St. Andrew's day everyone. Can't say I'm doing anything specific to celebrate though there's leftover meatballs from yesterday that I'm having for lunch and they have some haggis in them.  ;)
Miserable day here so far though definitely milder.
Laundry, kitchen cleaning and admin beckon and may well put together some fish cakes later will see how I get on. Dinner will either be fishcakes and veg or gnocchi with tomato/pesto sauce.

Happy St Andrews Day Caronc  :)

Farway I hope the foot isn't too bad  :)

I've been reminded by JKS post that i have falafels and flat breads and I do like hummus and grated carrot together 🙂 just need to get my act together and make the hummus 😋

I still haven't got much of a appetite today and eaten little other than toast and some fruit.  I may eat a bowl of cereal before bed so I don't wake up hungry

My sister dropped my car off earlier complaining that she is coming down with a cold, she has tested negative but works with small children so colds are a frequent event with her 😐  I've my booster booked for Saturday so I'm hoping she's kept her germs to herself.  I know I can't have it if I have signs of CV not sure if I can if it's a cold 🤞

  • Happy to have inspired you Brambling, I’m afraid my houmous was bought 😉

Office day today, completely manic so was glad of my lunchbox of beetroot, feta and walnut couscous. Got home in time for a quick early tea of beans with toast before swimming.

Is anyone else counting the days until the Christmas break???

I may buy it too 🙂 if I happen to drive pass T Exp tomorrow night 😁.

My last day is 21st Dec until January not that I'm counting down 😁 I can relate to a manic day i wasted half a day trying to resolve a 'mess' made by a Italian colleague 🙄

    Good morning everyone,
The rain seems to finally be easing and it's supposed to hit -2C this evening!
Domestics an admin for me today again! I'm progressing slowly with kitchen deep clean but at least I'm doing it!
I had planned to make fishcakes yesterday using tinned salmon and had cooked some potatoes for the topping when I decided I really couldn't be bothered faffing about breading them etc. Instead using some sauce from the freezer I made an "Ocean pie" circa Home Economics in the late 1970s - tinned salmon (any tinned fish will do), quartered hard boiled eggs, parsley, spring onions, white sauce, mash and a sprinkle of cheese. I had a portion with green beans and baby carrots. It was blooming lovely. Lots of leftovers so that's lunch today and dinner tomorrow covered.

Dentist first thing, just a check-up and given the All Clear, back in nine months which in current times is a lifetime away

As hoped I then went on to Mark’s, first time I’ve been in there for over two years. My one is a smaller food only one and conveniently on the way home from Dentist

Had nice mooch, must say how pleasant it is shopping in Marks as opposed to my memories of Lidl, Asda etc. I think I may well return to get some Christmas cheeses in should I not make the Farm Shop.

Picked up some YS, posh Quiche, not so posh YS small chicken plus semi posh multi buy streaky. The chicken is now in the oven for dinner, along with some stuffing. Although quiche is on its BBE day I’ll keep that for tomorrow

    Lunch was cheese toastie

Dinner, the chick, stuffing, HM AF chips & open a tin of beans

Dr has just rung about my foot, another week of antibiotics prescribed, I’ll probably collect them tomorrow, I noticed long queue of cars for the booster medical centre on the way home seems message is getting through here at least

  • 22 Dec for me Brambling…another day ticked off 🙃

Rainy here this morning but has dried up and got much colder this evening, wish it would make it’s mind up…

Rest of the beetroot and feta couscous for lunch, eaten at the start of one of my 3 meetings - no time for a break. Bit of a use up pasta tonight - bacon, green beans, creme fraiche and a dollop of mustard.

I led in bed listening to the rain last night and it continued on and off all day, the temperature has dropped as well

I went into T Express on the way home at 8.30pm tonight and picked up some good YS salad stuff and some stir fry all at 20p 🙂 but forgot to pick up hummus which is what I went in for 🙄

lunch was scrambled egg on toast. Dinner jacket potato with cheese and HM coleslaw with a small salad.  I did make tomato, pepper and sweet potato soup tonight for lunches, unfortunately I forgot that the very small chillies in the freezer are very very hot and added two (brain fog😬) it will need more than the coconut milk I've added to it, just as well I have plain yogurt in the house 🥵

    Good afternoon everyone,
Yes small chillies can be brutal Brambling!
Chilly here today, has just hit 2C after been below freezing for most of the morning.
Just had a wrestle with Henry (hoover) he was definitely winning today so having a much needed cuppa and sit down before I mop through.
Lunch is going involve eggs and tonight I have a meeting so it will be the remains of the ocean pie with some nuked veg when that finishes.

Lovely, cold, sunny & bright. Out to collect prescription first thing and took the chance to pop into Costcutter, which now it's Premier has very mixed items. I noticed Jack’s [Tesco] spuds & Co-op ready meals. I picked up YS MFO Co-op bangers & mash + Co-op MFO Shepherd’s pie, plus YS Whyke Farms Cheddar all@ £1.49 each, plus some soft YS rolls, well worth going in

Because it was such a nice day and my foot is improving enough to walk without wincing  I went on, with my camera, for a photo mooch at local old church & graveyard, plenty of nice photo there. But my was it cold, on a hill with bitter wind and bits of snow & frost on the ground

Back in time for lunch of LO roast chicken with salad bits in one of the rolls

Dinner will be the Shepherd’s pie, with whatever frozen green veg I can find, I think I have green beans & sprouts in there, probably since last Christmas so could do with clearing out
