    Good afternoon everyone,
My cards are still unwritten Farway lol!
My Tesco order was cancelled at the last minute yesterday after the van was involved in an "incident". Thankfully I'm fairly well stocked so not the end of the world and in fairness in the 10+ years I've been using them it's never happened before and I'll get a £10 evoucher for the inconvenience. Still it's a bit of a pain. I now have a small Morrison's order coming tomorrow with bread & milk a couple of bits and bobs as I'm out bread and low on milk and they had wine I like on SO so that's my festive bottles sorted out so I could get to the minimum basket level. I did find them pricey compared to Tesco so I've an order from them coming on Tuesday. Usually my sis or nephew would oblige but they are self isolating pending pcr results after getting pinged yesterday.
Lunch today was oatcakes with cheese and a pear. For dinner I've a pork chop defrosting which I'm having with red cabbage, carrots, baby spuds and crème fraiche & mustard sauce.

    No cards written here either

Bad timing on the Tesco 'incident' Caronc I'm surprised they did t try and redeliver it for you

quiet day doing nothing, other than sore arm I'm a little achy from the booster so a good excuse to just potter.  I did make a batch of broccoli soup for lunches next week, I'll add Stilton or cheddar when I reheat

lunch was a cba beans on toast. Dinner LO hummus and falafels with flat bread and crudités

  • Pottering sort of a day here too, been one of those weeks so was happy to have a quiet one. Bed has been changed, laundry moved round and a batch of curried parsnip soup made. Did venture out for a swim and then felt exhausted 🥱

Lunch was scrambled eggs and mushrooms with toast made out of the nice bread (probably made better bread than toast tbh). Did a roast tonight, pork loin joint with lemon, thyme and fennel seeds with roast potatoes, carrots, broccoli and gravy. Plenty of CFO LOs…

Shame about the Tesco delivery Caron, at least you had plenty of options being Old Style normally something else is  available “just in case” I suppose it may depend just what  the incident was regarding a rescheduled delivery

I found Morries expensive and inflexible compared to others which is why I no longer get mine from there, never say never though

Dull & grey awaiting next storm to arrive tomorrow, I’m also on a pottering day, maybe some online banking having just had my Income tax bill arrive, all budgeted for so not a problem, just makes me flinch seeing it as one sum due instead of drip feeding PAYE when I was working

This month is getting to be an unscheduled financial & clerical month what with my energy suppliers going bust as well. I prefer the quite life

Today’s food, probably cheese sarnie lunchtime, I may oik out the toasty maker and get that fired up

Dinner, use up last drying out in freezer breaded cod, with HM AF chips and LO beans, or follow Brambling with CBA beans on toast if CBA to even peel some spuds

    Good morning everyone,
Back to cold, wet and miserable here today.
Morrison's have been, one sub and one unavailable thankfully nothing crucial. I'm glad I placed an order for this morning as my remaining milk is OOD and definitely on the turn! I'm just enjoying a cuppa with some nice fresh stuff.  :)
Lunch will be a scotch egg, oatcakes and salady bits. No cooking tonight just reheating as I have a meeting - I cooked extra spuds & veg yesterday and have a portion of ox cheek stew defrosting.

    Evening all  :)

we don't have a Morries near us so no deliveries, there was one in the next town but it closed after about 5 years probably due the Asda almost next door 🤔

Wet day here, his lordship was not amused 🙄

lunch was a mug of broccoli soup with a sprinkle of grated cheddar and a bagel with cream cheese and smoked salmon (trimmings from the freezer)

Dinner was prawn, leek and pea risotto, I meant to add shiitake mushrooms (20p YS) but i forgot until I was eating it 🙄 there is a small portion left so I'll maybe fry the mushrooms and add them 🤔

  • Phew, is it really only Monday? 11 days and counting…

Rained all day here but didn’t have chance to get out even if I wanted to, furthest I’ve been is to put the bin out.

Lunch was quiche, baked beans, bread and butter because I felt cold. LO roast dinner tonight so a simple reheat of the pork in gravy and roasties, cooked some fresh carrots and broccoli.

    Tomorrow is another day…

Dull and waiting for storm Barra to arrive, looking very dark & gloomy outside already

Finalised my mucking about with online grocery orders, I spent so long pontificating about W8rose Christmas fruit cake it’s no longer available on line :'( , which although a bummer solves the make it myself or not query for me, added SR flour and mixed fruit to this weekend’s Asda delivery just for insurance

Ahh yes, I think I'm nearly at the same position, OOD but still OK so far with fingers crossed

Today’s food, lunch I think is scrambled eggs on toast

Dinner, possibly more clear out freezer, a CBA Asda pizza probably

    Good morning everyone,
HM will be better Farway I'm sure
Voluntary club  AGM went without hitch yesterday so I'm pleased that's out of the way. I have a few admin bits to do today and then it's "critical friend" hat on for a promotion application DS1 is doing.
Foul weather here this morning with wind and sleet. There's been a couple of very heavy hail squalls but I don't think we'll get snow.
I made a start of the conservatory deep clean so will do a bit more of that this morning.
Scotch egg again for lunch and dinner will be something from the freezer.
  • 10 days to go…can you tell I’m ready for a break 😂

Another full on day in the office so mug of curried parsnip soup (made a batch on Sunday) and a toasted pitta for lunch.

Swimming tonight so early tea of scrambled eggs and mushrooms on toasted bagel. Might have had a Penguin and a cuppa whilst watching Masterchef…
