Welcome back Brambling, and the sun's followed you. Nice one
The SIL pooch is getting used to a nice comfy home and treats now Caron, soon be yours on long term loan if it had any choice no doubt

As mentioned sun's out & warming up to Phew levels, so made a coleslaw first thing as salads seems likely for next few days at least. I had salad last night and no tum  troubles so fingers crossed

Lunch, possibly corned beef sarnie, I'd prefer Spam style but the tin I thought I had has vanished, so corned beef it is
The corned beef will continue into dinner, with LO boiled new spuds chipped in AF, with salad, but may replace the spuds with a nuked frozen baked one, depends how i feel at the time

    Good morning everyone,
Sounds like a good break Brambling.
Poochy absolutely dotes on my sis so I doubt he'd want to move in long term, I don't spoil him nearly as much lol!
The brisket was wonderful and there's enough LO for lunchtime bagels.
Yesterday I tamed the basil (there's still loads growing) and made a large tub of pesto which I'll portion a freeze today. There was also enough ripe tomatoes to make another batch of sauce. Some of each will be used tonight on a HM pizza.
It's drizzling here just now so a good day to catch up on housework, I want to give my bedroom a deep clean, turn mattress etc. ready for Autumn though I think my summer weight duvet should be fine for another few weeks unless we have a sudden cold snap. No doubt as usual I could knit a jumper with the hair that has gathered at the back of my bed!!

Brisket looks delicious Caronc 🙂 you've reminded me I planned to rotate the mattress and move the bed to clean when I changed my bedding yesterday (I also collect hair, mine and his lordships behind the bed)  I have to try and remember to do it next time

Hot and sunny here so I washed some thick jumpers/hoodies and fleece so I could benefit from the drying weather. It was too hot and the ground too hard to weed so a day of getting little jobs done indoors around time spent with a cuddly cat, although it was too hot for a furry hot water bottle at least he's not sulking this time 🙄

lunnc  was the same as yesterday, a cheese, ham and salad roll, I picked 4 mini cucumbers yesterday. Dinner was a Singapore style noodle dish using LO pork

  • Phew, warm here! A very short Indian summer 😂

Lunch yesterday was tuna and sweetcorn in a pitta with cherry tomatoes and cucumber batons. Roasted sweet potato with tomato sauce and feta served with couscous last night. I’d cooked it before I realised quite how warm it still was…

Another hot day on the way, cue for another salad tonight
I don't collect hair, it went a long time ago, plenty of dust & fluff though if any is required >:)

Just a spot of pot watering & bird bath top up to do later, it is ideal hang washing out day but too risky these wobbly days to attempt the garden path & steps with a laundry basket, very frustrating but nothing can be done about that, at least I'm not in Kabul

Lunch, maybe grilled cheese on toast
Dinner, more salad. I had a frozen baked spud with it yesterday & may repeat tonight, HM chips if not

    Good afternoon everyone,
I know what you mean about wobbling & laundry baskets Farway. I'm loving that my remodelled garden has made pegging out an option again!
Dull but dry here today and not quite as chilly as yesterday, just waiting for the washing machine to finish so I can hang another load out though I'm unsure how much it will dry as there's not much of a breeze.
Domestics again today, will be the theme of the week I think. Need to finish deep cleaning my bedroom as ran out of oomph yesterday.
I was supposed to having a pal over on Thursday but it's been put back a couple of weeks, much as it would be lovely to see her I'm quite relieved as it takes the pressure off getting the place spick and span before then. Not that a bit of dust would bother her but it would bother me!
Salady bits for lunch. Pasta with baked feta & roasted veg for dinner.

I have my own dust bunnies as well thanks Farway 😬

I also got washing dried again 🙂 towels,  bath mat and winter dressing grown which I haven't worn since it was last washed but his lordship likes to sleep on it 🙄

w8itrose delivery this morning, according to their site they will start to charge for delivery after 14th but any booked before then will be free so I've slotted one in at the end of Sept after that I will see what they charge.  There were quite a few subs but except for sending parsnips instead of swede when I already had parsnips on the order all were acceptable (160 York Gold tea instead of 80 😁) free mushrooms as they were today's date, but I did complain about the strawberries they sent 😐.  I will need to decide whether to half the chicken and freeze or eat chicken for the week🙂 it was half price on offer so cheaper than a small one but is quite big for CFO 🤔

A bit too hot and hay fever meant I gave up in the garden today so another day pottering indoors.  I caught up with my sister this afternoon I supervised the painting of her shed after a cuppa and gossip and picked some blackberries hanging over her fence, I took a couple of cooking apples from a neighbour's help yourself bucket so maybe crumble tomorrow 😁 depending on the temperature.   Unfortunately one of my BIL is poorly in hospital, luckily not CV although he had a lot of the symptoms but he's in his mid 70s with a history of heart attacks they think a couple of infections but his temp was high enough for him to be talking rubbish it seems

My pork joint was the gift that kept on giving not bad for £2.50 YS but having eaten it for five meals the last two portions have been frozen because I forgot to take to my sis.  Lunch was a pork and HM coleslaw roll.  Dinner cold pork, chips, beans and a dollop of piccalilli

  • Ridiculously hot here but luckily the office was fairly pleasant.

Lunch was noodle salad with red pepper, sugar snap peas and peanut/sweet chilli dressing. I’ve made a batch so expect to see this featuring again 😉

Swimming this evening so some toasted sourdough with cream cheese and sun dried tomatoes early evening. Had some fruit, yoghurt and granola when I got back.

    Good morning everyone,
Dust bunnies, hair and general debris now dispatched. Just the rest of the house to tackle now lol!
Dry and warm here this morning, just need the sun to break through and it would be gorgeous.
Apart from housework I've not much planned, an afternoon in the garden with my book sounds appealing.
Salad bits for lunch and bangers for dinner.
