    Good morning everyone,
Glad you managed to get to your catch up Brambling.
Steak here tonight too Farway. I've a beef bavette defrosting and a pack of big flat mushrooms so will decide later how to use them.
Dull and drizzling here so far. DS1 (very hungover) and DIL-to-be (not a big drinker so fine) have headed off for brunch with a pal before going back to Glasgow. They have a bagful of tomatoes, cucumber and herbs with them but I'll need to do something with the big bowl of ripe tomatoes still remaining over the next few days. Looks as though it's going be dull and/or wet this week so I think I'll start to take down the hanging basket tomatoes and ripen the fruit indoors as I can't see them doing much outdoors.
Bacon and tomato bagel for brunch I think.

    Evening all

a quiet day for me just pottering at home doing very little 🙂 back to work (well the dining room table tomorrow 😔)

lunch was jacket potato with cheese and HM coleslaw.  Dinner cold chicken, chipped LO new potatoes airfried and HM beans.  I don't think I'll have many more beans but did pick a very large handful tonight

  • Few domestics, bit of weeding and a bit of DIY today. Weather has been muggy and quite oppressive so it did take me a while to get motivated…

Lunch was scrambled eggs and mushrooms on toast (bit of a glut of eggs 🙄). Roast chicken tonight with roast new potatoes, carrots and broccoli. Expect lots of LO chicken themed meals 😜

Dull & a bit windy with a lazy day ahead, wasn't able to sleep much last night, bit to muggy for me, however I've nothing that needs attention so slouching about is fine for today

lunch will be the back to stale bread toast topped with grilled cheese
Dinner, more steak, the W8rose pack of steak was actually three concealed within,, one OK size & two comparative tiddlers, presumably combined weight was correct though, so today it's the two tiddlers with HM coleslaw & salad, and thinking of tracking down my pack of frozen hash browns just to make a change to spud element of the meal

    Good morning everyone,
Dull and damp here again today, yesterday it just drizzled all day but it seems a tad dryer this morning.
Ended up doing an awful lot of not very much yesterday so need to not be as sedentary today. Various chores, a pile of ironing and some voluntary admin should keep me out of mischief.
I kept dinner last night very simple. Fried a couple of flat mushrooms, toasted a ciabatta roll and quickly cooked a bashed out piece of well peppered bavette. Simple sauce of the meat juices, a knob of blue cheese and a splash of red wine. It was delicious.
Avocado and blue cheese salad for lunch as both need using up.
Jerk spiced chicken wings and veg traybake for dinner.

Back to work 😐 and 300+ emails to deal with, luckily some were just scan and delete or find the end of the chain and ignore the rest. I was also a bit of a devil and logged off on time at 5pm 😁

lunch was a trying something new with the AF, I half a ciabatta roll (snap Caronc 😁)  made a dent in each half to drop in a egg and sprinkled with grated cheese.  I placed on parchment paper so no washing up 😁 very tasty and worked really well, next time I'll cook a little less as the eggs had gone just too far.  Served with chilli jam

Dinner was the last of the half chicken mixed into a HM mushroom risotto with LO French beans

Oh that sounds good Brambling  :D
I had a much more productive day - did the chores I wanted done, cleared the ironing and the admin and made another large batch of pesto. My basil has been fab this year considering it started as a supermarket pot! There should be enough pesto frozen in small portions to last until next summer. I have jar of the bought stuff that I can't see being used anytime soon so will see if my sis wants it.
Blooming miserable here this evening - winter is definitely a'coming! Stove may well be lit for the first time since May as the house feels chilly and damp.
  • A home office day today although I did nip out for a quick walk to the post box at lunchtime. Couple of curve balls during the morning but did eventually get my day’s to do list done 🙃

Lunch was filled pasta with sweetcorn, cherry tomatoes, some LO chicken and olive oil. More chicken tonight - a Monday night favourite of reheated roast chicken and new potatoes with some freshly cooked carrots and broccoli. Rest of the chicken has gone in the freezer 😉

At last rain has arrived, of course today is Iceland delivery day so soggy driver & shopping, plus I had arranged to go out visiting a garden centre, see how that goes depending on rain. Hope today is a WFH day for you brambling and not a miserable damp drive to work day

Message from Iceland, no misses or subs, I've cleared a drawer in a freezer because this time there's more frozen, I'm trying Gregg's sausage rolls and their own Salmon parcels for instance

Should I go out visiting lunch will be out in a GC Tea Shoppe cafe, probably a nice jam scone because they are lovely. The GC has a Farm Shop adjacent so will have a browse and see if any decent bacon / pork chops whilst I'm there

Dinner, depends on the delivery if any short dated or whatever, could be frozen fish & chips otherwise

    Good morning everyone,
Chucking it down here but not as chilly as yesterday. I did end up lighting the stove yesterday. I set it back up ready to light just in case it turns chilly again later.
There's a large tub of very ripe homegrown tomatoes needing used up so I'll get some more tomato sauce made for the freezer.
LO chicken wings and roast veg for lunch. Pasta tonight with some of the pesto I made yesterday plus lurking bits and bobs from the fridge.
