    Good morning everyone,
I have that book JKS must look it out!
Fingers crossed for another on time finish today Brambling.
Dull, damp and chilly here this morning. I hope the rain stays off as I'm having my haircut this afternoon.
Soup again for lunch and probably breaded cod for dinner.

No sun but it's bright & dry

Looking like fish is on CFO menus :) , now tempted to try the Harry Ramsden frozen ones as I never did get round to try them, see how I feel & weather come dinner time, could be posh sirloin & salad instead

Lunch is BLT sarnie with the FR streaky I bought the other day

  • On a course today (and I might have forgotten I needed lunch when I did my planning and shopping 🙄). So, lunch was a cheese and chipotle relish sandwich with some cherry tomatoes.

I got the fish memo so tonight was masala cod traybake 😋

We made it to the weekend Brambling
Only two of us working today so we both agreed to close laptops dead on 5pm, mainly to avoid our Texan colleague who seems to have spent the last two days emailing the team mailbox 🙄 so laptop closed and I was picking beans before 5.05😁

No fish Friday for me 🙂 lunch was chicken salad, I found some herbed chicken mini screwers YS from M&S in the freezer.  Dinner was goat ragu from the freezer with pasta so a nice easy dinner as well 🙂

I also found the time to do a bit of decluttering tonight, going through some drawers downstairs including some missed filed 2014/2015 CC bills 🙄 a large bag of recycling and shredder has been emptied twice also small pile to add to larger charity shop pile upstairs

I planned to declutter his lordships cushion but I don't think he will approve

Sunny start to the day at least
Last night Harry R's frozen was very nice, not cheap but a nice big piece of fish, ideal as a one off treat. I can't say how it compares to actual shop bought HR fish / chips 'cos I've never had those. I also tried the HR curry sauce, but found it's not to my taste, even though I know a lot love curry sauce on F & Cs. I opened a tin of mushy peas while I was at it, they were part of an Asda Covid food parcel last year, OK but I'll stick with frozen garden I think

Lunch today is another BLT sarnie with the posh FR streaky.
I know we have mentioned before but paying more for some things is so worth it if affordable, this streaky is what we can all remember and sadly only seems available from real butchers, at least I've not found it from S/m even in the posh ranges.
Mind you from news about no CO2 seems bacon may be in short supply soon, amazing how things are interconnected, who would ever have imagined the price of natural gas could affect the price of pork?

Dinner, has to be the even posher sirloin plus salad and I think HM AF chips

I may get on with stewing a lot of apples for freezing later, I picked one of my trees yesterday and they are not good keepers.

    Good morning everyone,
Fab photo of His Lordship Brambling and what gorgeous looking apples Farway.
Dry but dull here this morning after some torrential rain overnight. I had the best sleep I've had in months last night, had almost five straight hours before waking and then managed to get back over again after a quick loo trip for another few hours.  :)
DS2 returns at some point today, he heading to DS1s before coming here to help him with some DIY. This evening my sister is popping over for dinner and a catch up. I'm keeping it simple with homemade pork burgers, corn & salad so really just burgers to make and a bit of veg prep.
I froze the two remaining portions of soup yesterday so a sandwich for lunch or I might make scrambled eggs.

Lovely day today but I think it's going to rain tomorrow 😐

I tend to buy my bacon, sausages and the occasional burger from the farm shop, all local meat and hard to beat, I've resisted their pies so far but they look really good and are rumoured to be worth the money 😁. I usually buy enough bacon to split up and freeze as you say worth the extra money for the quality.

My sis and I had brunch in Bridport at a place I thought was a veggie cafe but wasn't although the only meat on the menu was bacon which they stopped serving at 11.30 (part of breakfast menu) and it was the best bacon I've eaten in years, thick slices of both streaky and back, I heard them tell someone that the bacon, eggs and sourdough bread were all from a local producers 😋

A quiet day for me other than a quick trip to Lidl, I only needed some fresh stuff although I brought a few more bits than the 6 on my list 🙄 when out I popped into the large charity shop on the edge of town to find out when their warehouse opens so I can drop some stuff off and picked up a couple of books from a author I like, cheap at £1 each as well 😁

Lunch was cheese, crackers and fruit.  The warm weather meant Dinner was pan fried salmon, new potatoes and salad

  • A much nicer than forecast day here. Popped into town early as had an appointment and the walk was lovely as the mist had just burned off. Picked up a couple of bits in the co-op to save me having to do a proper grocery shop until tomorrow.

Made the most of the lovely weather to do some outside tidying up jobs. Rain also due here tomorrow so looking like indoor play, except for a trip to sainsbugs.

Lunch was an egg mayo sandwich, and tonight was burger, fries, salad and coleslaw…well it is Saturday 😉 and Strictly is back 🤩

It looks like it from my windows, just dull and very rain like, the radar has it over Brighton so expecting it soon

I've still got all the apples to sort through, I know there are some bird pecked ones in there so need to get them attended to before they go manky and spoil the rest

Last of the bacon today, only two rashers left so not enough for a full BLT but enough for a taster
Dinner is a bit use up, I have LO boiled new spuds so thinking of some kind of frittata / omelette thing with gammon rounds from Iceland so not high hopes, maybe with a bit of side salad fro greenery?
I may have stewed some apples by then for pud if needed

    Good morning everyone,
After rain in the morning yesterday turned into a gorgeous day. Late afternoon DS2 phoned to say DS1 & DIL-to-be were heading down to pick up some tools so as my sister was coming over we decided to bbq. Nothing fancy just the burgers I'd planned anyway, some chicken thighs, baked spuds and salad but it was lovely. We expected to probably eat indoors but it was warm enough to comfortably sit out so we made the most of it and sat in garden until after 9pm in just short sleeves until it started to drizzle. Felt like a real last kick of summer. It poured overnight but has dried up now though it's much cooler and to be quite chilly later. I'm so glad we just went it yesterday though I'm feeling a tad fragile this morning after rushing around getting ready, a late night and a few wines! .
Kitchen etc. is rather chaotic so once I finish my cuppa I'll get that put back to rights and then apart from cooking a roast dinner later I plan to have a quiet one.
LO salad for lunch. Tonight we're having roast lamb, cauli cheese, baby spuds, carrots, green beans and gravy.
