Brambling said:Did you have anything not delivered Farway?30m roll of Asda tin foil not available
, partly my fault because I failed to sort out the OK to sub box which had I done so no doubt Bacofoil or whatever would've arrived, lesson learned
It's a shame the sub ticks Y / N don't get copied over for the regular items but at least there is a sub box unlike Morrison's [unless they've changed]Dull morning, nothing planned except popping out to volunteer place for coffee & biscuits, first day of reopening for Genealogy group post Covid lock down March 2020, be nice to catch up with themLunch, probably another cheese & salad sarnieDinner, now I have a large chicken it's time for full on roast and I still have enough tin foil to wrap it up.Set me thinking, whatever happened to those chicken shaped roasting pots? Never see them around so presumably a gimmick that failed to impressEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -
Good morning everyone,
Tried to post earlier but got blocked lol
Tesco order has arrived and been stashed. Only one minor unavailable item that I had asked not to be subbed.
Roast chook here too Farway, though not until Sunday and just the legs from a bird I portioned and froze.
Pooch sitting now and thankfully puss had legged it when Tesco arrived so didn't have deal with both at once!
Toastie or BLT for lunch and freezer rake for dinner tonight.0 -
Back home, lunch scoffed, veg prepped & chicken in on low.The roads here are rammed with people queuing for petrol, I know there's plenty but can't say I blame them really if relying on a car, Grant Shapps isn't going to drop a gallon off to you in his ministerial limo should you run outEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0

Yes DS2 is going to have try and get some over the weekend as he may need to go on a couple of site visits next week.0

I can relate to your technical issue Caronc it's a problem I face daily 😁
The local FB page has photos of queuing traffic, I have half a tank of petrol so as long as no emergencies I'll be ok with my limited pottering around town until the panic calms down. My colleague who lives in Croydon has been texting me tonight they have been a hour in a queue so she's hoping it wouldn't run out by the time they get to pumpsI pop to the garden centre lunchtime it's just around the corner. I didn't get what I went for 🙄 but I picked up a couple of 50% off plants 🙂 and was tempted into their small farm shop which has a very good butcher. I tend not to go into this FS very often as it is about 60% luxury items /wine and not so good as the one I usually visit but they are the only place in town which sell white puddling 🙂 I picked up some half price local diced mutton and a pork hock as well. Just need to work out whether to cook the kilo of mutton and freeze or half it (cooked will take a lot more room up in the freezer) I may cook the pork Sunday if I can find the recipe I've used which uses beer and caraway 😋 I haven't had pork hock in several years
I may have to tweak my Asda order to see what meat and fish is on it
lunch was a repeat of yesterday gammon and egg salad. Dinner I used Caroncs idea and stuffed my large round courgette. I finely chopped a selection of veg and cooked with some nduja sausage which needed eating and mixed with a sachet of mixed grains nearly OD. I cooked it in the AF it was quicker than the oven although getting it out was a challenge 😬 there are also LOsLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -
Made it to the weekend! Finally got a nice quiet day in my home office so feeling more caught up. Also managed a swim at lunchtime before jacket spud, beans and cheese for lunch.
Weather was really quite nice again so made the most of it and got a load of towels out on the line 😀
Finished at a sensible time so pottered at making HM walnut pesto. Had some with gnocchi, bacon and peas for dinner.0 -
A very dull day weather wise not that anything planned for todayPetrol chaos all round here according to FB but as AA bloke pointed out this morning you can only fill a tank once so it should die down soon, SIL the GP is low on diesel and pumps his way are empty, however there is a "spare" car, granddson who is a learner and that has a tank full so not a problemShould be going to RHS Wisley tomorrow where I have a mobility scooter booked ut there's plenty in the tank for the trip, would postpone except the scooter is not just roll up & get one, takes a bit of booking aheadOne loaf in the Panny for later, feeling a bit lazy so CFO could just be sarniesThe large chicken that was a sub turned out to be a nice one, not dry, it will figure in meals over the next few days, including double duties todayLunch, chicken + salady sarnieDinner, more chicken, maybe in a fresh bread sarnie or maybe with chips etcEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0

Good morning everyone,
I thought you'd relate to me laptop issue Brambling lol. He's currently snoozing on his favourite kitchen chair!
Dull and drizzling here.
DS2 managed to get fuel last night without any bother, just as well as he's had to head to Glasgow this morning to follow up on a site visit earlier in the week and then will swing by DS1's to re-wire a light.
Last night DS2 got his usual chippy, I didn't fancy one nor did I want my usual breaded fish as we are having scampi tonight. I ended up making something I've not had for ages a stuffed baked potato with mustard, cheese and spring onion. I had it with spinach and peas and it was blooming lovely.0 -
I hope you had a good day at Wisley Farway 🙂
A damp start but it turned dry by mid morning, I was going to drop some items off at the warehouse of a local charity (easier than going into town). It seeing as it's opposite the T Express garage I decided against it, there is usually problems with traffic queues as it is straight off the roundabout. A quiet pottering day although my sister popped around this afternoon for a catch-up and a couple of mugs of tea 😁
lunch was more of the small (or not so small) gammon joint, this time in a sandwich with cheese and HM coleslaw. Dinner was the LO stuffed courgette
Ive just watched strictly with a large G&T 😁Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -
Good morning everyone,
Hope you have good day out Farway.
A number of garages locally are now out of fuel or are restricting to emergency workers.
I picked just over 8kgs of cherry tomatoes yesterday most are green or semi ripe so my kitchen table is going to be covered for a while but but there's probably enough ripe ones to make some more sauce. I'll not do what I did last year and mix yellow & red ones for the sauce, it ended up a most unappealing colour!
Dull and blowy here this morning with rain forecast for later. I fancy an afternoon pottering in the kitchen.
Roasted chicken legs for dinner tonight with roasties, stuffing, veg and gravy. I might make some Yorkshire puds.
