I'm still WFH full time Farway after a announcement in July from the CEO saying if you are working from home stay and don't go into office yet, if we do it's wear a mask all day. It was a global announcement rather than country specific.  So I missed the possible flooding driving to work this morning, it woke me up early this morning but stopped by late morning and was just a grey day  🙂

For the second day running  I've finished on time, it wouldn't last long but I think at least until next week 😁 it was needed after someone thought it was a good idea to invite 26 people to a Teams meeting to discuss system upgrades that's 3 hours of my life I'm not going to get back 🙄

lunch was a tomato and veg sauce from the freezer with pasta.  Dinner dirty rice with chicken livers, I must remember how hot the little chillies I grew are 🥵 small devils - once I freeze them I tend to forget until it's too late ( I may give some to my sister  >:) )

  • I’m really enjoying my couple of days a week back in the office but I couldn’t do it having to wear a mask all day 🙄

My lunchbox lunch was literally the highlight of my day…couscous with sage roasted butternut squash, walnuts and Stilton.

Swimming this evening so scrambled eggs and mushrooms on toasted bagel for an early tea.

    Good morning everyone,
Thick mist when I got up this morning, you would never have known I had a garden or neighbours! It's disappeared now and the sun is trying to break through.
Once I've finished my cuppa I'm off for a thorough inspection of the fridge, with DS2 being away there's some lurking bits that need something doing with them sooner rather than later. There's also a couple of massive carrots, the pickers must have picked the biggest one's in the shop and the three I ordered came to just under 1kg! One I've used but I've no plans for the other two so a pot of soup sounds like a good idea.
Soup for lunch and probably tortilla wrap pizza for dinner.

Sunny day is back, up to volunteer place first thing to water the pots, which as it happened would've been OK after yesterday's rain

Yesterday went a bit wonky, the Iceland delivery van broke down so they sent out a replacement which of course meant my delivery slipped a bit, not too bad but I was in limbo not knowing if any delivery or not for a bit.
However a minor inconvenience compared to the diver who had to load / unload his van a couple of times, and no doubt had a late finish for the day

I did get out to the GC and cafe later, scone & coffee, then into Farm Shop where I bought a lovely thick FR pork chop, went mad & also bought sirloin steak, it was on offer though, £19.99 a Kg, gulp :o , good job it was on offer, and some FR streaky

The mince part of the Iceland delivery was BBE tomorrow, so one pack in freezer & the other is in the oven for tonight's savoury mince & dumplings.

Snap with huge carrots, your pickers missed some and I've got those, four in a 880g pack :/ , huge, and not A1 quality either, BBE tomorrow but OK being carrots. One is in the savoury mince already, soup could be an option I suppose but I have tasty posh meat to chomp through first

    Lunch was marmite toast
Dinner, as above, savoury mince & dumplings, have yet to prep the dumplings

  • Another day in the madhouse done 😂

Lunch was butternut, mushroom, Stilton and walnut toastie 😋

Nice easy reheat tonight after swimming so another portion of the spiced chicken and apricot rice from the freezer. Did prepare and cook some broccoli and green beans.

Ivan relate to the madhouse JKS 😐 holiday season so only 3 of us working this week, I drew the short straw and was stuck with taking a meeting and the minutes for the weekly IT meeting with the team in India I wouldn't usually mined but as I've been off for two weeks I wasn't that up to date 🙄

Lunch was cheese, crackers and a apple

Dinner LO dirty rice with chicken livers, not really a dish that reheated well but saved cooking 😁 chilli heat and matured over night 🥵🥵

Spoiled for food choices now with the Iceland delivery + farm shop meat, last night's savoury mince was fine with at least two portions + a dumpling in each LO. I may freeze those and go onto the posh meat

Panny has a ciabatta in it, should be OK for lunchtime LO corned beef remnant sarnie
Dinner, the thought of the thick FR pork chop is tempting me towards full on roast dinner, using Aunt B's frozen roasties and steamed fresh veg, including one of the huge carrots

    Good morning everyone,
The thought of a FR pork chop would be tempting me too Farway.  :)
Love the sound of your toastie JKS.
I had a very productive day in kitchen yesterday, made a pot of carrot, sweet potato and potato soup. I had some for lunch with some crispy bacon bits on top. Made a batch of mash with 1/2 a bag of beginning to go soft spuds and made up some filled wraps which I've frozen for future lunches. With last night's tortilla wrap pizza that's pretty much cleared all the at risk of being binned items I found so I'm feeling very MSE.
Dry and bright here this morning though cooler. My nephew will be dropping of poochy soon as I'm looking after him overnight.
Soup again for lunch and mince & tatties for dinner using a portion of savoury mince from the freezer and some of the mash I made yesterday.
  • It was a good one caronc, based on a HFW recipe from his Veg book but very much about using things up…a butternut squash goes a long way when CFO 😂

Much calmer day today (despite being in the office) and a nice early evening walk in the sunshine.

Can’t beat winging it in meetings Brambling! Hope you’ve had a better day.

Second helping of butternut, walnut and Stilton couscous in my lunchbox and I made tomato and mozzarella linguine tonight.

Another day where we finished work on time 🙂 this is the first week since before lockdown last March that we haven't been working long unpaid hours, it wouldn't last but I plan to do the same tomorrow 😁

I woke with a sore neck, it started in the caravan so I blamed the bed there but it is reoccurring so I think my pillows need replacing, I've slept with two for years started when my asthma was bad but Im sure a expert would direct me to one 'specialist' pillow I've not found memory foam ones comfortable on the rare occasion I've tried them but from what I've read they're recommended 🤔

lunch was early thanks to a 1pm meeting, I made a quick omelette with a small salad.  Dinner was smoked haddock, mash potato and HM green beans.  I had planned kedgeree but I've had rice a lot this week so the eggs which needed using were had for lunch instead
