Dull day outside with hint of sun but I'm filling in my shopping list, Asda still has some not available, so I went onto W8rose but the prices for same items V Asda are frightening me off, luckily I'm in no rush and arranging a delivery day is also bit fraught with MOT & a funeral next week so kicking delivery day can down the road for now

Think it depends on the bank Mrs SD, Nationwide/RBS still accept up to 6 months.

Mine's Nationwide. Not sure what is meant by digital paying a cheque in? I think the easy solution will be for me to contact sender, who I know, and just ask him to pay directly into my bank with sort code etc.

Brambling, yesterday's rain was heavier than expected, everything is looking sodden now

I've got a ciabatta in the Panny for later, just in case I can't make my mind up for dinner
Lunch could be cheese toastie using up the LO stale bread
Dinner, could be the use up Princes chicken Balti pie or maybe use up tin of spag on use toast

    Good morning everyone,
Yes direct pay would save a lot of hassle Farway if you can arrange it.  :)
Dry here just now but it's supposed to turn stormy again this afternoon. It was very wet and windy yesterday evening and my flower baskets are looking very bedraggled this morning.
Tesco order is due in a bit and then I want to do some prep for tomorrow's lunch, not that we are having anything elaborate but it takes me a bit to find my feet in the morning and I'm not good at rushing around so I'll do as much as I can today.
Second half of the cheese savoury for lunch and dinner is the usual Friday tbc.
  • Apologies for the misinformation ☹️ Apparently it is only Premium Bond cheques that are only valid for 3 months. Again, sincere apologies.

No problem Mrs SD, it's hard to keep up with what's happening /changing in the banking world (or at least I find it hard to ;) ). I wouldn't mind a cheque from Premium Bonds - though it would be more likely if I had some lol!

I think premium bonds are going to stop sending cheques out 🙂 it's payment into bank or reinvest winnings

Other than taking his lordship for his annual jabs and checkup this morning (ouch to both of us  :#) and filling the car up - also a ouch.  Not driving that much I hadn't realised just how much petrol has gone up again. I can't remember the last time I got petrol, at least the car will like the drive 🙂.  Heavy rain this morning turned to sun and wind after lunch

I resisted the urge to check work emails :D  and I'm packed and ready to go early in the morning.  Im not looking forward to the drive as I'm assuming it's going to be really busy especially when we get off the M27 - Dorset roads tend to be slow on a Saturday in summer before most of the country going on holiday in the uk 🙄we are picking up one of my other sisters in Dorset on the way down so will stop for a T & P break.

I've been eating my way through the fresh stuff in the fridge so lunch was a mushroom omelette and beetroot which was the only salad left in the fridge.  Dinner was breaded haddock, chips and HG runner beans.  Typically the beans have suddenly gone mad 🙄 so I'm taking a large handful down with me and a couple of courgettes too. My nephew isn't fond of green beans and will eat if he's given them so no point leaving for him I just have to hope that if it is dry he remembers to water.

    Happy holidays Brambling  :)
  • Brambling, NS&I were going to stop sending cheques but have changed their minds 👏 Now they are trying to persuade people to change rather than forcing them. I for one am grateful - when I win it gives me a reason to go into town otherwise I would probably never leave home 😉

Happy Hols Brambling, you no doubt drove down in the torrential rain we have this morning, at least your beans will have been well watered. Hope the weather improves for you, DD down in New Forest tells me sun is poking out now

I've woken with a "cricked" neck, means I can't turn my head much, must have pulled something the other day when i was stretching up & about pruning my apples trees, bit of a bummer but apart from the occasional "ouch" when I turn my head a bit quickly it's not too much of a problem, especially as I'm going nowhere today AFAIK

Meals today will be very mundane
Cheese & salady sarnie for lunch
At long last the tinned spag on use up stale bread toast for dinner
I need to add tinned spag to the on line shopping list, it's run down without me realising

    Good morning everyone,
I'm pooch sitting today, so fingers crossed all potential escape routes have been removed
DS2 is on his way and DS1 & DIL-to-be will pitch up in the next hour or so.

Pooch is snoozing peacefully on the sofa and I'm enjoying a quiet cuppa before having a quick tidy up then sorting out lunch for us all - chicken roasted with a herb, garlic & paprika butter, Ayrshire tatties, tomato & feta salad and a green salad.

    'morning all

Very dull and manky out, so much so for lunch today I may open a tin of soup, it's that sort of weather
Dinner, luckily is the OOD Chicken Balti pie, and use up LO mash, nuked. Looks like a carb heavy meal but portion sizes are not huge but should be comforting & warming
