Good evening everyone,
I seem to have accidently managed to have fairly productive day as well as a bit of noodling with my book on the sofa. Changed my bed, did an hour or so of voluntary admin, tackled the ironing and thoroughly scrubbed the sink area and cupboard underneath it. Doesn't sound like a huge amount but it's a lot of standing/bending stuff which I struggle with so feels like an achievement.
The rain did eventually stop late afternoon and the sun came out. I did contemplate sitting out for a bit but everything was very wet so I didn't bother. Only the greenhouse & deck baskets needed watering and the pots and garden baskets all seem to have enjoyed the proper drenching.
I have decided that summer or not I'm having mince & tatties tomorrow. I've a real hankering for some and DS2 isn't so keen unless it's made into cottage pie! Ayrshire tatties though rather than mash - will cook extra spuds tonight since I'm boiling some anyway to go with piri piri chicken and have decided to steam some carrots, broad beans and green beans to go with it rather than salad as I had a large portion of that at lunch.

Another busy day at work but I'm on count down only two more days before I'm off for the week 😁 lunchtime I popped to the pet shop to ensure his lordship is sorted. I wouldn't be popular with my nephew or the cat if we ran short and I was sent vouchers this morning so his lordship has a new catnip toy which he is currently sleeping off at the moment 😁
I've been organised tonight and booked a shopping delivery for the day after I get home (I've a feeling traffic will be bad 🙄 so don't want to book a slot for the day I get back) the freezer is well stocked but I will need fresh stuff, mini menu plan has been done
lunch was a quick mushroom omelette with a small salad. Dinner was pan fried sea bass fillet, HG beans and LO new potatoes chipped in the AF. I want to take a frozen lasagna with me for dinner the first night so that was partly made tonight and froze, I just need to remember to take it out the freezer the morning we leave and there is LO mince mixture for tomorrow dinnerLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -
Good morning everyone,
Sunny and warm here today, the last one for a bit if the forecast is accurate. Nothing much planned here, my balance is iffy this morning, it will hopefully improve as the day goes on but I'll be taking it gently as I don't want a tumble. I was going to hoover, dust and mop through but I'll see how it goes.
LO chicken with salad in a wrap for lunch and mince & tatties for dinner.0 -
Bit late today, lost the internet earlier but it's back by magic
Sunny at the moment, change on the way so they say
Up watering at volunteer garden earlier this morning, over to Co-op for bits, milk & bread flour OK, usual zero Iceberg / lettuce shelf, but if weather's on the turn I may be virtually joining Caron but not mince, It'll have to be pie though 'cos that's all I have until I complete my meat order
Yesterday's lunch in the pub was sausage sarnie, a posh one mind you, in ciabatta with caramelised onions
Today's lunch was very last of the pilchards in a sarnie, with cucumber due to lettuce shortage
Dinner, I'll be virtually joining Brambling with LO new spuds chipped in AF, with pan fried salmon fillet & salad, should just about eek out last of the lettuce

I hope your balance is better Caronc
too bendy yesterday?
I had my first dentist check up since January 2020 this afternoon and all was ok so that should hopefully be it until February. It was a nice sunny walk into town from my sister's where I parked. I found a old book voucher (3 years old) when tidying and was surprised Waterstones still took it so that was my holiday reading sorted, I very rarely buy new books unless it's a cheap one on kindle but I wanted to ensure I got to use the voucher and they had a couple of authors I read on their buy one half price table.
I worked through lunch as I was leaving at 3.30pm so grabbed some cheese and crackers with a apple to eat on the go. Dinner was LO lasagna filling with pasta and some LO green beansLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -
Good call on the Waterstones voucher Brambling, I wonder if lock down figured in it somewhere? Not that it matters, you got a result.I have a cheque to pay in, since Jan, only a tenner hence lack of rush, I have a niggling feeling that banks can be sniffy if over six months old and I'd hate to make a special trip just to be told "computer says NO"Dull day outside but I made early start putting more prunings into the garden wheelie bin, it's full now and collection is a week away so no more can be doneWith the weather today is hot meal day, it was going to be a really old [BBE 03/2020] FB pie, except I found out it's Princes chicken balti and not FB beef type, quick change of plan because I'm having it with use up spuds, mashed & use up broccoliNow taken Iceland smoked haddock out to defrost, thus dinner will be smoked haddock, use up mash, use up broccoli, couple of bendy carrots and maybe some frozen beansLunch also went of piste, I've decided on fried egg sarnie but found one egg [last week's Iceland delivery] was cracked and of course as I lifted it from the box it splodged on the floor, luckily it's tiled so wiped up fine. Wish I'd spotted it last week then could've sought refund at the time, too late now but I'll try to remember next time. I always check eggs if i buy in storeEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0

Good morning everyone,
Could you pay in the check via Digital banking Farway and save a trip?
Raining here today and looks as though it's here to stay for few days.
My balance is still iffy so another quietish day planned.
Use up day here too with a sort of hash planned - cooked tatties, spring onions, red pepper, mushrooms, green beans and chorizo. Probably a fried egg on top. Lunch will be a cheese salad wrap and some fruit.0 -

Think it depends on the bank Mrs SD, Nationwide/RBS still accept up to 6 months.
It's turned into a properly manky evening here - blowing a hooley, pouring and chilly. My poor hanging and wall baskets are getting battered.
DS1 & DIL-to-be are coming down on Saturday for lunch before they head to a garden do for a mates 30th. Thankfully said garden has a large covered deck and garage as going by the forecast it's to be stormy & wet on Saturday.
Used up some fridge veg bits and bobs to make a small batch of "cheese savoury" sandwich filling. It was delicious in a wrap with shredded lettuce. Enough LO for a repeat tomorrow.
DS2 may or may not return tomorrow, it will depend on when he finishes work, if late he'll head up on Saturday morning so he doesn't miss lunch. I'll make the most of potentially my last night of CFO and sole control of the TV remote for a bit lol.1 -
My last day at work today until the 16th 😁 there was only two of us in today and I was in demand from my French colleague who isn't grasping the work I've been trying to handover for the last five months. it's a big piece of work which needs to be done by the end of the fifth working day of the month and I'm hoping that as I'm not available tomorrow she will have to read my instruction document rather than relying on asking me and use her own initiative, I warned the senior manager that I was on holiday just before switching off my laptop he can deal with any queries 🙄
The rain this afternoon battered my large white hydrangea which now looks like someone has jumped up and down on it, not so pretty as it was at the moment 🙄.
when putting my bin out it seems that two neighbours put out the recycling/gardening bins and two the general rubbish bin! I went with my initial thought which it's general rubbish day tomorrow
lunch was scrambled eggs on toast as I need to use them up and dinner a jacket potato with beans and cheese and the last of the salad.
