Our weather has calmed down now, but looking at the forecast it's only have a breather until tonight, I'll trundle the garden wheelie bin out for tomorrow before it starts again

Lunch today is last of the BLT PB baguettes, I have more baguettes but no more B for BLT

Dinner, unknown because I have my first volunteer committee meeting for over a year [Covid lock down] this afternoon, then onto collect prescription followed by mooch into Costcutter where I may just find a YS dinner
If the cunning plan fails it'll be freezer diving for a MFO RM

    Good afternoon everyone,
Sounds like a fair swap JKS, I don't mind dusting!  ;)
Rain again overnight but dry though gloomy so far today.
Must be volunteering day Farway, I've spent most of the morning on admin for the out of school group.
LO pasta for lunch and tonight DS2 and I have been invited by my sis & nephew to the local pub for dinner. Their treat as payback for recent bbqs and pooch sitting.

The last time I wanted to iron something I had to go hunt the iron as I had move it and couldn't remember where it's new home was 🙄

My climbing French beans obviously loved the rain so I picked a nice handful tonight and tossed a couple of snails over the back fence they seem to be enjoying my runners  😡 I also picked the first of my courgettes, 2 small ones, one of which was round.  I also must ask my friend for the variety of cucumber she gave me as I've just picked my fifth one and there are lots of babies on it

Lunch was pasta with some tomato and vegetable sauce from the freezer.  Dinner jerk lamb steaks with dirty rice and peas, broccoli and French beans.  I halved the dirty rice recipe but it still made a lot, I have about two portions left.  Tomorrow will be a day of LOs as I cooked two lamb steaks

  • Office day today so tuna salad lunchbox plus a pot of strawberry and peach fruit salad. Long day so dinner was an old standby of salmon with broccoli and pesto pasta.

Finished series 2 of Baptiste tonight, highly recommended but you do need to concentrate, and not only because of fairly frequent subtitles 😮

Dull, damp & windy but it's a planned indoors day anyway, I dare not look into the garden at the beans in this snail weather, they've even reached my dwarf french beans growing off the ground in urns, I have visions of them abseiling down SAS style onto them.

My Costcutter mooch yesterday resulted in a pack of two YS pork chops on use by day, so grilled the pair of them and had one last night the other is for tonight, not sure in what guise yet

Lunch, will be open another pack of use up part baked baguettes, filling of grated cheese & salad bits

Dinner, cold grilled LO pork chop with maybe salad or maybe fry up LO mash.
I don't want to risk warming / re heating the pig chop, especially as it was on it's last Use By legs anyway
Actually if the weather remains cold & dull I may steam a pile of frozen veg to sit alongside the nuked LO mash & chop

Garden wheelie bin has been emptied, and left down the access path outside a neighbours :s and  I'm not going out in this to retrieve it >:)

    Good afternoon everyone,
Another day of the weather not being sure quite what it wants to do but dry so far!
I had really enjoyable evening yesterday, the food was decent as always and it made a nice change to go out to eat.
I'm pooch sitting today and fingers crossed there's no escape attempts. DS1 & DIL-to-be are arriving late afternoon and have been well warned to take care coming in. They are heading out this evening to a bbq and then staying over afterwards.
LO pasta with a dollop of HM pesto for lunch, dinner is tbc probably the usual breaded haddock.

It's been more like Autumn today than summer I'm assuming we are ramping up to storm Evert 😐 I travel west next Saturday I'm hoping it will come and go by then 🙂 🤞 showers were heavy enough to take my sky out lunchtime

lunch was jacket potato with beans and cheese. Dinner a repeat of yesterday jerk lamb and dirty rice with green veg.  The chilli in the lamb had matured over night 🥵

  • A nice productive day in my home office today. Only left the house to go for a swim at lunchtime, has rained on and off most of the day - the washing load is on the airer in the utility room 🙄

Despite fancying something comforting and warming for lunch, I needed to eat up some of the salad stuff…made an open sandwich that used up the end of a tin of tuna, the beetroot and some of the lettuce, added a hard boiled egg and some sweet corn. Yet another traybake tonight - chicken thighs, new potatoes, onion, cherry tomatoes and thyme, drizzled with some of the LO chimichurri and served with broccoli and peas, was yummy. There is LO chicken, potatoes and onion…

Indifferent weather this morning, not hot or cold, not dull or sunny, not raining but it's just nothing special

With the rain & general dampness we've had I noticed this morning my French beans are just skeletons, all gone and I never even had a taste of them, grrrr

For a change I had porridge for breakfast,it has recently been Weetabix, it is that warming comfort food type of day
Lunch will be last of the use up baguettes, usual grated cheese & salad inside
Dinner, I still have some LO mash, so probably nuke that with clear out frozen individual Asda veg & cheese pie. They were bought to try them and OK but I'll not bother again

    Good evening everyone,
No poochy dramas yesterday thankfully though I'm think he's part goat as he's discovered with a spring and a scramble he can jump onto my kitchen island!!
I had a nice relaxing morning with the kids after DS1 & DIL-to-be stayed over and then pottered and read for the afternoon. DS2 made us all a tasty bacon, egg and tattie scone filled morning roll. Naughty but not something I have very often so always enjoy when I do.  :)
I'm back to CFO until later in the week. Tonight DS2 is off to a bbq and then tomorrow he heads off to carry out site visits.
I've defrosted a couple of slices of belly pork to make a tray bake with jerk spice, sweet potatoes, peppers and mushrooms for dinner tonight.
