I'm undecided between pizza or a posh fish finger sandwich for dinner.
Wish I'd thought of that earlier, too late now, no bread until I bake one tomorrow
Instead it'll be an @sda pinged frozen MFO ham carbonara

Braised steak sounds like a plan for the weekend, I have a tub in the freezer from when I cooked some a wee while go.

I made braising steak and liver in the slow cooker this week and it was so nice - hubby hates liver but likes the gravy it makes when cooked with the steak lol! I had enough left over to make 3 dishes for the freezer for lunches for work too . Just the right tea for snowy , cold grey days.

I've never had liver cooked with steak but I can imagine the gravy would be wonderful. A good few ladles of that over mash & veg and I'd be happy, just pass me a bowl and spoon.  :D  I cook liver hot and fast then add to any veg/gravy rather than long and slow, horrible memories of stewed to shoe leather ox or pig liver from growing up so stick to lamb. I should give it another go as I like braised steak and kidney these days. That said my son's not keen so probably one for when my CFO life resumes properly.
Fish fingers it is Farway but I do wish I had some of your HM bread slathered with plenty of butter and tartare sauce rather than a SM roll.  ;)

I'm the same as you re liver Caronc I'm not sure who cooked it worst school or my mum, mum wasn't a bad cook she just believed every thing had to be well done   :s I buy lambs or calves liver and occasionally chicken livers and flash fry it

I went into my sister's on the way to town to park the car and left nearly two hours later having been fed a sandwich for lunch and discussed Christmas presents, we have decided to get some of my sisters and BILs  plants between us as they can be delivered directly and they will prefer them to flowers or chocolates.  I did walk into town for a short visit and bumped into friends in the M&S queue for the food hall 🙂  tea and M&S iced spiced bun at my sister's when I picked up the car 😁

Dinner was HM chicken soup and crusty roll which was what I intended to have for lunch

Farway I acquired the last pack of Brighton Blue in the Farmers 😁

    Still raining this morning
I was up earlier than normal, just couldn't  drop back to sleep, but it did give me the opportunity to make  loaf in the panny, using real flour & yeast this time, not a mix, smelling nice so far

E-mail from W&rose, my delivery is picked and on it's way for later this afternoon.
All present & correct without subs, nice to know as it includes XCFO Scottish smoked salmon [on offer] plus some extra XCFO cheese, now Brambling nicked the last Brighton Blue from under my nose  :'(   I'm trying "Long Clawson Shropshire Blue"

Lunch, fresh bread sarnie time, given the weather a FF one with Tartare sounds just the job.
Not posh !!!!!!, just battered Birds Eye mystery fish that have been lurking for a bit. I'll cook them in the AF

Dinner, with my late afternoon delivery and packing away it will be LO braised steak + gravy with HM AF chips for convenience
I've not also never had liver with braised steak but I suppose it is similar to steak & kidney and tasty gravy
I normally make my own pate for XCFO, but on line shopping for liver is a step too far
I may chance it & get some smoked mackerel with my Asda shop & use that for pate, or some mushrooms if I find some in the Co-op nearer the date

    Good morning everyone,
Lovely sounding food Farway  :) , like you I'm toying between making or buying some pate. I have chicken livers in the freezer so no excuse not to but I'll see how it goes.
Wet and windy here, it's absolutely tipping it down. It's back to cleaning down shelves and kitchen kit for me today and I want to reorganise my freezers as they've become rather jumbled while the kitchen work was ongoing. My poor butcher's have had to close their shop due to a COVID outbreak and my turkey etc. is now coming this Tuesday  🤞 and will need frozen so I need to clear a shelf. I also have a large pack of SO smoked salmon that I want to split into smaller portions, vac and freeze. Thankfully if push comes to shove my son will bring his small table top freezer with him when he returns on Wednesday.
A tub of braised steak & onions is defrosting for dinner, I'll have it spuds, sprouts and mushrooms. Lunch will be a toasted English muffing topped with cream cheese and bacon and some grapes.

Just topped up my posh meat delivery, couple of lamb chops & more pork steaks, nil stock of pork chops but I already had some on order so should be fine.
There were actually FR turkey breasts so bunged one in, very limited FR poultry left but good for them having sold out of local ethical food
All cheese has sold out Brambling, except the garlic one. Looks like you jumped in at the right time

Now waiting on W8rose for the first Christmas period delivery

@Farway - my Waitrose delivery comes from Petersfield. I managed to pick up what must have been a cancellation for next Tuesday, but Christmas slots have been showing fully booked for some time now. I suspect people with higher priority than me (or who spend more time online checking for them) got in before I did!

    Good evening everyone,
That was lucky greenbee, slots in all the SMs are thin on the ground here until the New Year, luckily I managed to get some booked to see me through, though not necessarily for the time or day I would have ideally liked.
I'm completely pooped, I seem to have got lots of things done but not really made a dent in my "to do" list. I think I need to break it into smaller chunks so I can at least get some things ticked off it! Today's mainly been jobs that you don't notice when they're done but do if they're not IFYSWIM! I'm way behind with Christmas card writing, lots more to post this year as I'll not see folk I usually would in the run up. I've spent a small fortune on stamps and suspect I may need to get some more. I have managed to clear a shelf in the freezer for the turkey and bits, I do hope it's big enough - it will depend how tall the bird is lol.
Dinner is prepped and won't take long to put together and then a slouch on the sofa to catch up on Masterchef is the plan. A  glass of red will feature.  :D

Farway I did get the cheese from the farmers market, the farm it comes from is less than 20 miles from here  :) I also picked up some Sussex charmer for XCFO  :)

I'm told other than Iceland it's almost impossible to get a delivery or click and collect before Xmas around here, I know my sister has brought her turkey crown and stuck it in the freezer as it nearly ended up in mine 🙄 and she poked fun at me for getting a second freezer  :)

I've had a lazy day just some 'need to do' housework and washing, annoyingly I found the lone sock on the stairs after the rest of my washing was in the machine  :s

lunch was the last of my soup with some toast.  Dinner I roasted half a beef joint from the freezer (25% off and then YS so I brought and cut it in two 🙂) with carrot and swede mash, cauliflower and broccoli, roast parsnips and Jerusalem artichokes with plenty of left overs 😋
