Careful PN, you'll have the Supermarket Stasi crowd onto you for touching stuff without using a sanitised barge pole :D

I know it's "technically wrong if you think about it", but, in my defence.... I'm very short and they put them on the top shelf, where I can't SEE what I want :)  I have to pull the whole tray out and down to see what's there... and behind the front one is another that's half empty ... and under that a 3rd (with one missing as I took that last week).

Shopping's always been a pain in the butt for seeing and reaching anything on any top shelf; I'm often seen clambering up fittings.... indeed, in L1dl/4ldi it's practically compulsory to stand ON the front of the chiller to reach the top shelf - they are the only supermarkets who have one substantial enough to feel safe + it's how the shorter staff stock the top shelves so I don't feel guilty.

Yesterday: I was agitated for food... and I finally realised that if I didn't go out and buy something then I'd just eat everything available and never quite hit the spot.  So I went to the CHIP SHOP! :)
Only 2 days since the last visit and I drove there thinking "something a bit special, that you'd not normally buy as you feel it's a rip off" - and I thought chips and a pot of curry sauce.  When I got there though I found myself asking for pie/chips instead :)  £2.90+£1.90 so a huge spend for me on a meal.  I was disappointed with the pie though, I must ask him the brand name of those ones (not Pukka) so I can deliberately avoid them in future at other shops.

Yesterday I also had a jam sandwich and chocolate and fruit pastilles and a flatbread.

Not sure what today will bring, had a jam sandwich 3-4 hours ago ... might do a chicken/stuffing one later.  Could have a noodle pot, getting low on those now ... or I've still half an opened pack of instant onion mash.

Re signing in, this morning I clicked on my link that brings me to Old Style, then I found "CFO" and landed on p1224 where I'd left off. I read, replied, saw some posts from you guys on p1225 saying about having to log in each time, got to the end of p1225 so clicked on p1226 to come to this/next page and, bizarrely, I was logged out and had to log in! :)

The forum has been okay for me now. I made a grilled vegan cheese sandwich in my cast iron skillet pan this morning. It really filled me up.

I have leftover tortilla wraps and I will have it with the rest of the chickpeas, red onion, cherry toms, cuke and avocado. When I feel hungry! :D

    Good afternoon,
Seems I spoke to soon re the signing in issues. Tried to post earlier but kept getting chucked out  🙄
It's still pretty windy here but more or less dry. My poor beans that were on the deck getting ready for planting unfortunately got battered by the wind and rain yesterday and are bit worse for wear. I'm hoping if the weather perks up so will they!
Oh my I enjoyed the globe artichoke last night, my son quite liked them but thought they were a lot of faff for not much food - all the more for me then as there are two left😊. Tonight we are roasting some of the Jerusalem ones so it will be a windy night one way or the other 🤣! We are having them with chicken thighs roasted with Lebanese seven spice, garlic and preserved lemon; green beans, asparagus and Ayrshire potatoes. There's strawberries and cream for pudding 🍓🍓. For lunch we split the remaining baton roll and topped it with ham, brie, baby jarred peppers and tomatoes before popping in the air fryer for 10 minutes. With a side salad it made a lovely light lunch, just as well as I had a bacon and tattie scone roll for breakfast😉.

Possibly Peter's Pies? When I was working a bloke was always buying them on his way into work.
I tried one once as they looked & smelt tasty.  Mine was full of gristle and unknown items

Managed to get the dahlias planted at last, tough luck on your bean Caron, I found the tops of some of mine were slug nibbled last night following the rain.
It's a wonder we bother to grow anything with the set backs, but once the first fresh item is scoffed all that memory is wiped

Still undecided on dinner, the lunch crisp sarnie was OKish, reading on another thread about fish fingers, I've got some cheap Ice£and fish cakes lurking so I may just try them, I know PN wasn't too keen but I've got them so have to at least try them

Weird I know but I can't say Ive ever had a crisp butty but I have thrown some on a cheese one sometimes. I accidentally got a 24 pack a few weeks ago (meant to be a 6 pack honest ) so I guess this is something I will have to try. I did used to love ketchup butties when I was a kid so Im not adverse to a new filling  :D

Miserable weather all day but finally the sun is out again....bit late but bodes well for a good day tomorrow.

Food today is definitely lazy mode so far it has been a few left overs from the curry last night for brunch and tonight is going to be some buffet like food. I have a greggs sausage roll some pate, salad bits and lots of cheese so I won't go hungry! I love a buffet and seems a long time since I dived into one at a party. Maybe Ill wrap a potato in tin foil and stick some cheese and pineapple in it  :D

I love globe artichokes, but only a couple of times a year - your son is right, they're a lot of faff. More an activity than a meal ;)

Au contraire... they're fine.  I bought a bag of 30 some months ago, something like £2.90 for 30 they were.  I think I tried the Mr T cheapos and preferred the Ice£and ones, although it's been so long since I had proper food (proper food = 10p fishcakes :) ) that I forget the details sometimes.

Here's a top tip too... if you've got any of that frozen fish in a bag in sauce.... nuke a couple of fishcakes as a topping, by squashing them down and spreading across, and you've got fish pie :)
