    Good afternoon everyone,
Glad you beat the pesky jar lid Nelski 💪
Warm and dry here though quite over cast a good day for gardening though I've not got that far yet. I'm not quite sure where the morning went! My DIL-to-be is making a trip to b&q as they need stuff to decorate their bathroom and they appear to have fence paint in stock so she's getting me some😁. I had hoped to replace the fences and log store this year but if that can't happen at least they will look semi decent for the summer.
Ham and coleslaw sarnie for lunch with cue sticks and baby plum tomatoes on the side. Tonight it's tagliatelle with a spinach, broccoli and pesto sauce.

For jar lids I get a regular teaspoon and pop the end of the handle under the rim and give it a tilt, that usually pops the airlock, never known it to fail yet, but I've only needed to do it 3-4x.  My issue with giving a lid a good grip and tug is that I have tiny hands... it's one of the things that social strangers point out quite often "wow, look how tiny your hands are".... er, yeah, probably because I'm 5' and have tiny feet too... :)  I've probably got hands the size of a 10 year old, so it's difficult to always get a grip on jars as my fingers are too short.

Just been eating the usual here...  today I opened a pouch rice and ate it cold.  It's food, but not enjoyable as the rice is a little too hard without being softened by heating.

Today I've had:  a pouch rice, 4 squares of chocolate, 6 pastille sweets.  I think I've also had a noodle pot, to be honest, I can't remember :)  I had it either last night or today ... I think it was last night, but who knows eh :)

I'll probably knock up half a pack of Morries onion mash later, I had half the pack about 2am.  It's very tasty :)

I've decided tomorrow is CHIP DAY.  I'll go out and get bread, paste, see what else is about - then get chips.

Have you remembered Monday is a bank holiday PN  :)

It's difficult to work from home when the sun is shining  :) sitting at the table looking out into the garden made it hard to get any enthusiasm for comparing data and I was getting more annoyed by the carp data added by our users which will be added to the new system as we have no time to do more housekeeping 😐.  I did take the opportunity to chat to next door who is shielding and tongue in cheek asked if her husband has any quiet tools or things to do, as every thing he does in the garden is really noisy 🙄

lunch was a small portion of chilli from the freezer (it seemed a good idea late last night 🤔) no rice just some LO broccoli. Dinner was a pork and apple burger (from the farm shop) with two portobello mushrooms instead of a bun, I mixed some soft goats cheese with chopped fresh herbs and garlic and stuffed the mushrooms with it and baked, the veg was stir fry peppers, shallots and sugar snap peas.  I have half the goats cheese left so may add herbs and garlic again and think where else I can stuff it as it was really nice 😁

Enjoyed last night caesar salad ...I had half a tin of anchovies in the mayo and a slab of parmesan so it probably wasn't the healthiest but i figure as it has the word salad in it then there are zero calories  B)

Faffing today between another salad of some sort, gammon steak and jerseys or mussels and chips. I think the mussels are winning at the moment
    Brambling your burger sounds amazing

Sort of snap on pork & apple Brambling, but mine was sausage shaped with the Morrie substitution. I did them in the AF along with HM chips
Still need to get timing right on that, HM chips take about 5 mins longer than bangers. :(
At least they were well done, and actually not bad, I'd not buy them by choice though

Yes, the substitute custard doughnuts were lush, not many left, I think a two legged rat has scoffed some :D

Another scorcher due today, watered the front tubs already before the heat gets going
Because of this it's another salad day, made some more coleslaw because the last lot was so easy  nice. It's maturing in the fridge right now

Lunch will be LO bacon in a BLT sarnie
Dinner, as above, but LO gammon, salady stuff and HM AF chips.
The bakers from Morries [on offer pack of 4 50p] look good, a nice CFO size, not huge but not shrimps, one would go well with cheesy beans inserted

My clip lock box has arrived already, yet again one can see why Am@zon are coining it in, taxes or not, it works
Just need to wash it & then my fresh delivery of bananas via ND due later will have somewhere safe to stay overnight
No signs of ratty this morning, fingers still crossed

    Good afternoon everyone,
Your burger in a mushroom sandwich sounds luscious Brambling 😁.
With on the two legged rat problem Farway, mine scoffed the LO pasta I was going to have for lunch before he went bed, I'd already gone and didn't realise until I went to heat up!! I had a ham and coleslaw sarnie instead which was good but was what I had mouth shaped up for!
After a wet and miserable start it's lovely and sunny now, though to be short lived if the forecast is correct with gale force winds tomorrow.
Tonight my son is cooking Korean style (air) fried chicken wings. We'll have those with kimchi, sesame and soy griddled broccoli, slow cooked corn cobettes and Jersey royals.

That sounds nice, I went though a phase of having kimchi a lot. I should get some more.

    It's definitely salad weather CG.

I'm having the Richmond vegan sausages with potato salad and another side salad. I fancy some corn now too.
