I hate all things rat related it comes from reading Rats at 14 🥺

I took my babies (veg seedings) to my sister this morning with strict instructions on how not to kill them and remember to harden them before planting. Land cress in a large pot plus Two types beans, courgette and cucumbers with the promise of a couple of small squashes once they get a bit bigger.  I did upset her by asking if my nephew was home so I could pass the instructions to him 😁. We then went on a socially distance 6 mile walk it was hot enough that I got read the riot act from my nephew when we got back as my face has caught the sun 🌞🥵 oops probably just as well I'm not going to the office tomorrow, it's not sore so I'm hoping it will settle down by tomorrow.  Lovely to walk through the fields although my hay fever may not agree 🤧

My trip home was via T Express where no queue meant I was tempted in for ice cream, just their own cornettos they're smaller than the branded ones so I had two when I got home 🤫

lunch was a steak and onion sandwich, using up a small piece of frying steak from the freezer.  Dinner will be the same as yesterday using the last of the fish etc, I'll have to look out for cockles now Nelski 🙂 I did buy mussels yesterday, just those prepared in a bag with garlic and wine so they will appear on the menu this week with crusty bread as I've some PB bread rolls in the cupboard.

Following all the gammon talk I brought a small one yesterday and a cauliflower  all your talk of gammon meant I fancied gammon and cauliflower cheese 😁 the M&S 750g gammons are reasonably priced and idea for CFO

Defiantly my food twin :) I got mussels in garlic and wine yesterday too  On the menu next week with a baguette and fries :)

Oh I'm so jealous re the mussels, I love them but unfortunately they don't love me these days. A few in something are fine but sadly my favourite of a big bowl of garlicky loveliness with a chunk of banquette to mop the juice is a no go. 😢
Tonight's pork was gorgeous, it was a FR leg joint so even on offer wasn't cheap but well worth it IMHO. It didn't shrink so even though it was a small one there's plenty of LOs for tomorrow. The artichokes were also gorgeous, I do hope we can get some more. No sign of any adverse effects so far, so fingers crossed. 🤞

Deal  :)  The only problem with seafood restaurants are too much choice and only so much you can eat  :disappointed:

Caronc hopefully you remained a wind free household last night and your son doesn't regret living with you  :) I also love them roasted the farm shops are far nicer than the supermarket ones although I will buy when YS and they have the added advantage of being sold loose so i can pick a small amount

Back to the joy of work this morning and after putting out my plants and potting in the sunshine I loathed to come back in  :/ I seem to have a lingering headache from the weekend and after cramp at 2 am I'm feeling a little blah today, screen use won't help but needs must and all that.  The cramp is my own fault I let my feet get cold yesterday evening and they were beginning to cramp a little when I went to bed and probably walking the sun with no water yesterday  :# these days when I forget I can't share my sisters' I was so disorganised for my walk yesterday!

Not sure about food today i've a couple of rashers of bacon which need eating so that will be lunch or dinner and the rest will be whatever i CBA to cook there's plenty in the fridge so I don't have to take anything out of the freezer and it may be vegetarian tonight

I'm having a week of no new cooking and living from the freezer again. Have been spending too much on new ingredients and ignoring what's already there so I gave my head a wobble and its leftover week as a result. I have lots so it wont be difficult but needs to be done.

Today will be liver and bacon with some cabbage and leeks and maybe some new potatoes. For brunch some cheese on toast with jalapeños

I think Ratty paid another visit last night, :s I'd cleared everything away so nothing to nibble but a metal fruit bowl was on the floor.
Time to check the wire mesh defences just in case they've slipped
Better news is my first tomato flower is out. :D Bloody Butcher, sown 9 March, fingers crossed it's the first of a bounty

After recent talk of L & B I've added a RM of L & B to my Morrie order, I've had theirs before & ideal for me who CBA to buy & cook some, it's lamb liver & hoping they've not changed the recipe

Lunch, more bacon sarnie, this time it'll be standard classic one, with brown sauce
Dinner, re run of yesterday, gammon salad, with nuked ready baked frozen spud & LO HM coleslaw. I may use up the LO baked beans in the spud
The coleslaw was yummy, made me wonder why I don't make it more often as it's so easy. I don't buy ready made, just fail to make any
Sign of things to come I hope.

PN, the only reason i had use up bananas was my neighbour gave them to me, too soft for her and too many for me to keep hanging around, and because  they were free there are no calories in the BB :#

Yes, free calories if you didn't buy it :)

    Yesterday's scoff-fest included:
2 rounds of cucumber and tomato sandwiches. Trying to crack on through the tomatoes before they go off. No spread obviously as I can't have/keep marg or butter.  The filling is moist enough to cope, so long as the bread's OK and this bread's got a date of 22nd.
1 packet of Doritos (er, or was it 2?).
2 flatbreads & a cup a soup.  Two, not one, because I'm watching the BBE date (18th)
    Some pastille sweeties.
    1 noodle pot.
    12 squares of chocolate

    I think that's the lot ....

Thanks for all the air fryer advice still faffing and wondering if its a want or a need ...when it flips to a need then Ill buy :)

I'm still collecting recipes and ideas/things that can be cooked/reheated, got gazillions now (over 100)!.  As they cook quicker than even a toaster oven, you could do it by working out costs saved of other methods of heating.

Your garlic naan could've been cooked using an AF....

Flicking through my list of reminders/ideas/etc, I've got: cheese sandwiches dipped in egg/coated and fried; stuffed peppers; sausages; chips -and- thinly sliced potatoes/dredged for a crispy outside; nachos; naan/bread done like your garlic bread (inc cheese added); quiche/crustless quiche; cheese melts/crumbed babybel; finishing off the part baked rolls; toasted sandwiches; roast spuds (I'll try a Yorkshire too); egg fried rice; baked spuds .... my list is huge and growing.  That's in addition to the fact it's just "a small oven, for cooking smaller frozen items or from raw, faster" so I'd make all sorts of regular meals in it too... maybe even the Xmas turkey breast joint :)
