Nelski said:Still umming and arghing about an air fryer. Has anyone got any recommendations as they vary a lot in priceAs you say they do very a lot. The only warning thing I saw, on here, was get one with removal-able insert basket, not just a trivet in the bottom. For me another must have was dishwasher safeHaving got mine I'd now check for very visible markings on the knobs. Mine has just an indent, not a "proper" easily seen mark.I've marked it with a felt tip but that option may not be for the cosmetically challenged IKEA kitchenMine was bought because I had free Amazon coupons, otherwise I think I'd mooch around shops for prodding & poking, but not easy these days I suppose, whne I looked the well known makes looked fine, the Morphy Richards / Tefal / Philips of this worldEgg less banana bread has turned out a success,

What puts me off making anything like this is I'd only want 1-2 slices, yet would have to make (then eat) a whole one... even if you halve it it's still a huge lot of calories to eat of the same thing.
Yours looks nice.... but I couldn't eat a whole one!

I'm eyeing up my slightly sad bananas now Farway and thinking things which wouldn't do my waist line any good
PN that unfortunately the world of CFO too much cake which is why of the rare occassion i make one just for me it is usually something which keeps well in a tin or will freeze will
Nelski mine was an on offer and not expensive when Tesco's still sold such things on line it's a Vonshef and just the right size for one I'm not sure if they still do it. My sister crowed that her's was a lot cheaper than mine and now doesn't use it has it has a trivet and not a basket, I also second advantage of fitting the basket and 'bucket' in the dish washerIt's definitely a gadget i would replace when it dies and it spends more time out on the work surface than the slow cooker, pressure cooker and toaster which shares the same spot in my kitchen and usually live under the stairs. Yes i too like my gadgets
Lunch was a small portion of spaghetti bolognese from the freezer, it was one I spent time on and had lots of hidden veg in, I forgot how nice it was and unfortunately only froze one portion. Rather than pasta as it was only a quick lunch break I had with one of the mediterranean pitas, considering they were YS and on date when i brought them last Saturday they are still fresh to eat just pinged for 30 seconds in the mircowave definitely one to look out for again as they have been very good as an alterative to bread rolls although i shouldn't eat either
After the talk of air fried chicken i have taken a couple of boned chicken thighs from the freezer and will do my version of KFC i also have some LO new potatoes which i will also chip again with the chicken in the fryer. Not sure on veg other than the LO tenderstem broccoli i may open a tin of sweetcorn.

I don't have an air fryer, but have a halogen oven, which is perfect for CFO. It's been a bit neglected lately as I finally replaced my broken oven a few months ago, so really had to be trying it out. Now that the weather is warming up, the halogen will be getting used more.

Good evening everyone,
Oh my Farway that looks like scrumptious banana bread, just needs a cuppa to go with it and I'd be in heaven.
Nelski, my son's air fryer is a Tefal Easy Fry Classic it cost him £70 in Argos. I like the fact it's manually operated and the basket and trivet within it go in the dishwasher. It seems to be an ideal size for what I'd use it for.
CG anything involving stuffing mushrooms gets my vote, that sounds like a winning combo you cooked.
I'm CFO tonight as my son is "at" a party aka in the dining room with a chippy tea, a spiced rum and online with his mates for one of their birthdays.
My nephew is home and doing well feeling fit enough to go for a "socially distanced" stroll with my younger son along the promenade earlier. Fingers crossed the recent blip has passed.
This afternoon my elder son and his fiancée came by to pop stuff in my garage, it was lovely to see them in person even if hugs weren't an option. They had been by the local farm shop to get F&V and spotted they had Jerusalem artichokes so bought some for me (and themselves). They have just started getting them and surprised how well they sold so will stock them in season. They grow a lot of what they sell so might consider trying a crop for next year.I'll roast them on Sunday and hope the after effects aren't too forceful 💨💨
Earlier my bedding plants arrived, I thought it would be tomorrow or Monday so wasn't as organised as I could be, I'll be potting for Scotland tomorrow and for the next few weeks eating at my kitchen table won't be an option lol
Lunch today was "halves", we'd run out of bread and were low on milk so my son popped to the SM and returned with a pack of scotch eggs as well. I had sorted of decided on a tomato sandwich with crisps so we each had 1/2 a sarnie, 1/2 a scotch egg, 1/2 a packet of crisps and 1/2 a huge apple. It was lovely. For my CFO meal tonight I'm cooking meatballs from the freezer with mushrooms, smoked garlic butter and spaghetti. A glass of red and the TV remote and I'm a happy bunny.

Hi all
Up at the crack of daft for a delivery. All there bar pitta breads which I haven't being able to get for the last few deliveries now which is an odd one but wraps or flatbreads will suffice for now.
Made a chicken tikka masala for tonight which is currently brewing in the slow cooker and smells gorgeous. Will have a garlic nan and a chutney tray with it so as good as a takeaway I reckon and will probably last a good 4 meals.
Thanks for all the air fryer advice still faffing and wondering if its a want or a need ...when it flips to a need then Ill buy
caronc glad your nephew is recovering well
Take care all

Good afternoon everyone,
Thanks Nelski your curry sounds lovely.
I had another bakery delivery this morning so brunch was a morning roll with bacon, tattie scone and a good splodge of HP. It was delicious. We've pasties for tonight to have with baked spuds, beans and corn. There is also a small rhubarb tart with my name on it.
Baby bedding plants are now all potted up and out of 240 plants I reckon that there are only 3 or 4 that might not take so I'm very pleased. We are having a family quiz early evening which will no doubt challenge my brain cells as always. I'm in the mood for just relaxing this afternoon so will hunker down with my book, the weather isn't great so a good excuse for not doing very much!

Late to the party today.I was getting my Morries Click & C order together. I had my W8rose one sorted but I was a bit worried about the C & C option because my WR does not have it's own car park, has a private pay one outside and not being sure how C & C would work there I decided on M's, which has a ginormous car park of their ownC & C is Wednesday, plenty of slots so I chose before noon one.The choices with M on line are not as good a WR, can't order a bog standard Iceberg lettuce for instance, has to be shredded pre pack. But it's a start & did order some compost as wellYesterday's ropey cauli perked up well in water, it was only a small one so I had some HM AF chips alongsideMust be slow cooker day in CFO land. I defrosted a posh FR gammon joint overnight & it's now in the SCI'll have some for dinner, no idea with what yet, could even just be a ham & tom sarnie, with slice of BB to follow.PN, the only reason i had use up bananas was my neighbour gave them to me, too soft for her and too many for me to keep hanging around, and because they were free there are no calories in the BBPotted up last of this year's peas.Just hint of frost on a few French bean leaves, nothing serious thankfully. And, Ta Ra - my strawberries have set & are forming & swelling nowLunch was BLT sarnie, dinner TBD as aboveEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens4
