Good morning all,
Yesterday was a CF1 x 2 day. I had toasted fruit loaf for breakfast, welsh rarebit on toast for lunch and butter chicken with rice for dinner. The HT had croissants for breakfast, cheese and ham toastie for lunch and BBQ pilled pork wrap with chips for dinner.
Todays meals will be same breakfast and lunch as yesterday for him, with a roast chicken dinner this evening. I had banana on toast for breakfast, lunch is looking like cheese spread on some melba toast cracker things that I found in the cupboard and roast dinner this evening.
I went to a virtual pub quiz with my school friends last night. a fair bit of alcohol and a lot of laughs. I feel better for the company this morning and the others have said the same.
Take care all of you4 -
PasturesNew said:Not sure what to do with myself the rest of the day..... I could go out, but you're not supposed to; I could go to the out of date food place, but I've food here so that's unnecessary. I could go for a walk, except it's a grim area round here so no pleasant walks to do... plodding along a main road's dull.Shame it's a grim area PN as today looks like a fine sunny day, are there no parks or rec grounds in walking distance perhaps?Brambling, white tea, I've never tried it but if you need more here does mail order, I get my Portsmouth blend from them, due a delivery any day nowI've made meatloaf but can't say I'm a fan of it, which probably says more about my cooking skills then anything elseBut now I'll make one soon, I found some YS mince deep in the freezer during the recent sort out so I've no excuse not to use it.Lunch will be toasted cheese on toasted tiger bread with maybe a glop of piccalilliDinner, grill the other lamb shoulder chop, this time with steamed carrots, cabbage & broccoli.I also found some BBE Dec 2018 M & S rosemary spuds in the freezer shuffle, I think they were meant to be part of my 2018 CFO ChristmasThey are now defrosting & I'll have some along with the rest of dinner

Good afternoon everyone,
It's a glorious day here, I'm posting from the garden while enjoying a lovely decaff coffee my son made me☕. We are bbqing later and I'll let my son sort that out. I have a loaf proving it should be ready to shape fairly soon. Just a standard white/wholemeal which should do us for a few days. Pork pie salad for lunch.5 -
I had two rolls again for breakfast.
I'm making jacket potatoes, corn, peas and stuffing with the last of the asparagus and vegan "chicken" gravy. I've never tried the gravy before.4 -
Today I've opened one of those chicken paste jars and twice had 1/2 jar of chicken paste with some cheapo sage/onion stuffing. Nice enough, but nothing to write home about. I should try L1dl and Mr T's cheapo pastes to see if they taste better. 4ldi salmon paste > 4ldi chicken paste.
I've also scoffed the remaining two samosas I bought yesterday. And 2 chocolate Rockey bars.
I took a trip out in the car - just after 3ish when it would be quieter - for two objectives: 1/ give the car a run out so the battery doesn't die... drop off my rubbish/recycling. I'd have stayed to look at the view there (it's a viewpoint), but I CBA as I'd have not got a good spot where I could view and stay in the car. I was only out 30 minutes.
While out, my head was running through ideas of where I could go .... which meant food shops. 1/ Iceland for some Pepsi, 2/ out of date place for 3kg of sweeties. I decided that, as entering any public space was a 'risk', it wasn't worth it and I didn't need those things, so I came straight home.
Done everything for today now: 1/ got up 2/ showered 3/ back to bed. That was the plan ... but I've also achieved 4/ get the recycling dropped off 5/ charge up car battery 6/ take the long route to see where that road emerges...
There was something else, I believe there's a chippy round the corner that is allegedly "selling, turn up, wait outside, take your chips home", which is what I want. They are also allegedly "good chips there". I had planned on pulling up outside their window to see if they had a sticker... but I kind of put it off until "on the way back" then came back a different way.
There is a 1-in-100 chance I might go out later to see if that chippy is open. They have no facebook and no website.4 -

Not tried them.... would if I were passing.
I am not a fan of McVities, they're no longer enjoyable. I've tried 4ldi's cheapo ones, not a fan. I like the L1dl Polish ones, 50p/12 black cherry filling.4 -
I love jaffas cakes, but not sure about pineapple ones PN 🤔"You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"

Ooh pineapple jaffa cakes sound good to me. I don't like the original orange any more, they've cut down on the filling, but the Lidl version was nice, albeit not had any for a very long time.3

thanks for the link Farway that's the brand I just brought, same price so I'll compare delivery costs. I would like to think I'll be down in Dorset sometime this year to buy clipper 😐
i think I'll give give the pineapple Jaffa cakes a miss as well 🤢
the weather has picked up again, so I spent the morning in the garden planting seeds and just pottering about. Some of the seeds were old ones I found so will be interested to see if they come up. I lost track of time so a late lunch about 2 so grabbed the last of the meatloaf and cut up some cucumber and had it with watercress sitting in the garden, advantage of CFO throw it together as hungry
The afternoon was spent cooking and chatting to my nephew from a distance when he dropped off another care package 😁 this time a big slice of his lemon drizzle cake (he knows it's my favourite) and a piece of my sister's flapjack. Payment for the flour 😁
Dinner was pork chop (not so good as the FR rack chops but nice) cauliflower and broccoli cheese, French beans and roasted parsnips. I cooked some rice stuffed vegetables, portobello mushroom and beef tomatoes with mozzarella on top, they will do for lunches and roasted some squash which has been lurking in the fruit bowl for a while I will either make a goat cheese and squash risotto or tart when I've eaten the LO cauliflower cheese. I meant to braise some celery but forgot to put it in the oven in time for dinner, I cooked it and it's in the fridge so may get blitz for soup 🤔
The rhubarb was stewed with strawberries and I'll eat it chilled, I did keep some out to make rhubarb and ginger scones and then decided my waist line wouldn't appreciate it and cooked it all. Just as well seeing I've eaten the lemon drizzle cake
