Farway substitutions are not free sadly that would be nice they just charge you the amount you were going to pay for the one you ordered which does mean you often get a better option for a cheaper price :)

I got an asda delivery today which of course had a couple of unavailable items flour and paracetamol but did have pasta in for a change been a month since i could get some so very happy :)

Food today will be a sausage butty for brunch then its burger night :) I cook the burger on the table top grill with mushrooms bacon pickles and a big salad and coleslaw.

    Take care everyone

    Afternoon all
Having a late start today as I was scrabbling online until silly am.Ive become addicted again,  so if any of You fancy a game pm me
I took Mums shopping yesterday,  n we sat over 2m apart, in her garden,  along with her very deaf neighbour, n had a good shout for over an hour 😂
Am not doing my usual batch cook today, as the freezers are rammed, so will just potter, n avoid all the cleaning that's well overdue.
Is anyone watching the Daily Kitchen on bbc1?I usually like Jack Monroe,  but She's giggling all the time like a,12 year old! Am hoping it's just nerves 🙄
Anyhoo , food wise I had banana on toast for brunch, n fancy a veggie burger n salad for tea.I got a jar of pickled gherkins the other day,  n they taste all sweet n weird, not tangy .Can I redeem them ?? 🤔

I've caught half of two episodes on iplayer late at night.  Nodded off first time, so had another go last night at Ep2.  It's all painful to watch.

Tebbutt's waving his arms around and seems out of his depth.
Jack's wobbling about like a good 'un and you can't understand what she's saying, then they lose her anyway and/or the image freezes and you get some mumbling.

My feelings on this programme are: there have been enough programmes in the past about cooking, about using leftovers, about eating cheaply .... and people are free to go online 24/7 and kill time/ask people for ideas.  In the main, most of the ingredients they're using are either too posh for most people to ever have them (Matt's lot), or simply not in people's cupboards and nobody wants to go/queue at a shop to try to source them and maybe catch the virus and die just for the sake of following a telly recipe (Jack's).

The programme isn't needed in my opinion .... and it's badly scripted, using the wrong people ... and it's just awkward to watch, embarrassing/awkward/painful.

By episode 3, She'd managed to sort the sound issues, n from Monday She'll be in the studio with Matt.I'll persevere with it, cos I do usually like Her ethos n ideas ;)

Yeh but, no but, it's cheap telly innit?  Have to find savings somewhere since the OAP licence increase was postponed.
Can't possibly furlough sports presenters with nothing to commentate on & being paid a squillion pounds wages can they? >:)

The tiger loaf lunch was all I anticipated, I bet it would be nice with a toasted cheese topping,
My T*sco shopping via ND arrived, all there, including more spuds. With the Ice£and shopping my stocks are nearly back to my normal CFO level now
The weather warmed up, so peas planted out. Just have to sit back & wait a couple of months now

Temperature has dropped here and I'm determined not to put the CH back on  :)
After my freezer/fridge audit yesterday I menu planned for the week and wrote a shopping list and then left it at home when I went shopping 🙄. That'll teach me to get organised.  I drove out to the farm shop this morning and luckily there was no queue, they allow two customers in at once and there were two staff including the butcher.  I picked up most of what was on the list from memory and some of their lovely pork and apple burgers as well as some meat for my sister.  I been fancying rhubarb for ages but didn't want to go to big SM so grabbed a handful and a bunch of English asparagus :) .  Unfortunately I also picked up stuff not required, potatoes anyone?

From a safe distance I dropped off at my sister's and left my car to walked into town hoping to get slug death  I CBA to queue at Wilko just for that so picked up a small container in £ shop plus one for my sister.  The bakers were selling plain and wholewheat flour but were out of SR (not selling at a high price just decantered from catering bags) i gave my nephew the plain, I may benefit at a later date :D . No queue at M&S so I picked up the missing items from my list and some half price mini chocolate eggs 🤫. Other than milk that's me for the week. All stocked up on loads of fresh fruit and veg 😋

Lunch was a LO meatloaf sandwich using fresh bread from the bakers with gherkins and half a bunch of lovely peppery water cress.  Dinner will be stir fry chicken and veg (damn forgot pak Choi  :s ) and rice not sure what sauce to do yet.  Maybe rhubarb and strawberries or that may wait until tomorrow

Brambling: I've never had meatloaf.  Nothing against it, would make/eat it, it's just never been served in a works canteen... or at home ... nor have I ever known a real person to have/cook/eat it.

It's on my list for "should do that" as it's straight forward isn't it.... don't know why I've not done it in the past really.  I guess when I've got mince I just think of either chilli, or kebabs... so never got round to it.

I'd have probably not thought to stick it in a sandwich/roll, but I bet it's dead nice with a bit of squirty sauce :)

PN not sure it my version is considered the correct version but it was really easy.  I used turkey mince as I had picked some up half price YS.  I just diced up a selection of veg just what I had to hand leek, broccoli stalk, sugar snap peas, and grated carrot.  If I had it I would have maybe grated courgette or added some pepper.  I lightly fried (could use microwave to soften) and let the veg cool before adding to mince, small amount of bread crumbs, herbs/spices of choice and egg to bind.  Shape loaf shape add to baking tray and cook.  The recipe had a tomato glaze which I don't think I'll bother with again.  Taste good cold too   :)

I ordered some white tea bags which arrived this afternoon :)  I usually pick up Clipper white tea when I'm in Dorset and top up from some W8itrose if need be.  I don't drink a lot of it but will drink it with lemon rather than milk it's a new brand for me from a local-ish company as the Clipper website wasn't taking orders.  I brought a lemon today so will give it a try later ☕️

When I dropped the flour off in my sister's porch I gave her (and probably her neighbours due to the shouting distance) instructions to make soda bread, she's just send me a picture of her first loaf and it looks good, hopefully it will taste good as well 🙂

9am and I've been up, showered/washed my hair .... had breakfast (a flatbread) .... and just ate lunch (2 samosas).

Not sure what to do with myself the rest of the day..... I could go out, but you're not supposed to; I could go to the out of date food place, but I've food here so that's unnecessary.  I could go for a walk, except it's a grim area round here so no pleasant walks to do... plodding along a main road's dull.

So I'll stay in bed (yes, I get up, shower, then get back in bed)..... and browse the Internet .... for the 4th, 5th, week....
