Brought some Hz's lentil soup today, I cannot recall trying it before so it will be interesting to find out. I can't generally eat soup with a high tomato content so my choices are a bit limited, but I thought it may make a change. 6 for £4 , seemed reasonable. Well I got 3 beef-broth and 3x lentil to be truthful, that way if I hate them I can give to neighbour or suchlike, they won't go to waste! :)

In regard to the meat paste pots, I can confirm as I suspected the Princ ones were 50p and the Shippies were a bit less but I've forgotten, 40-something pence anyway. I know the P's were 50p as I grabbed a beef one while there, they only had beef or chicken/ham.
Complete scatterbrain today, forgot to get any bread or biscuits. Hmm.  Have some cream crackers so they will suffice until Wednesday when I need to go out anyway for a few essentials, then in theory all being well I may be able to stay in. I could of really done with going yesterday as I was quite short but forced myself to manage (doing my bit etc) figuring it would be more busy over the weekend.

One thing I have started doing occasionally with tins where the contents can settle (thick soups and to some degree things like marrowfat peas) is to gently shake the tin then store it upside down for a day to ensure the 'content' does not settle to the bottom, I've foudn it saves having to spoon out the bottom third sometimes, as they are stored for who knows how long the right way up on the shelves. Should mention I do turn them 'right way up' after a day or so! It does seem to help though. Perhaps its just me being a bit silly.

I've always stored upside down and considered it "normal", especially with some tins that may have sat on the SM shelf tor yonks. I always give them a very good shake before opening, even beans

Currently investigating pre-pay credit / debit card to give the ND to pay at T*sco, I read that cash is best avoided these virus ridden days and it would be easier for me in some ways to just bung dosh on it. As it's pre-pay there is no way she could go wild, not that I think she would but it does have in built safeguards if lost for instance

@Farway - the volunteers who do my shopping give me their bank details and I do an electronic transfer based on the receipt. It seems to work well.

I really should start posting regularly on here again now I'm home for the foreseeable future. I'm on a rather nasty course of antibiotics at the moment, so focussed on eating well. I'm having to eat more meals so that I have lined my stomach before each dose of pills so have had to add extra meals. Breakfast today was pear, yogurt and cinnamon; Mid-morning was milky coffee, sourdough toast with butter and marmite (I have a freezer full of bread that is generally for other people, and am now working through it a slice at a time!); lunch was soup made yesterday from broccoli stalks, spring cabbage ribs, courgette cores, an elderly bit of pepper, a couple of sprouty unions, some of the millions of carrots, a potato, lentils and wheat berries together with some of the turkey stock from Christmas, and a blob of creme fraiche; afternoon snack was coffee and ginger biscuits (in an attempt to stay awake for this afternoon's meetings; supper was mushroom omelette, diced tomato and basil and coleslaw made with red & white cabbage and yet more carrot...

I'm working on using up freezer and cupboard contents, supplemented by whatever the milkman and veg box scheme can provide in order to minimise my use of volunteers so they can focus on looking after the people shielding.

I did think about going out today, but then decided to give it a miss... probably go tomorrow.

I've eaten: The last flatbread.  One 6p cup a soup/vegetable.  One packet of crisps.  One tomato sandwich made with the last slice and one crust of the loaf dated BBE 5/4, it was a bit dry so I wrapped it in foil to give the tomato some chance of soaking in for awhile...

With 0 flatbreads left and 1 slice of dry bread... it looks like tomorrow would be a good day to pick up one or the other.

LL came home... 44 hours after going out.

Late on parade tonight 🙂. I didn't finish work until 7pm and the evening seems to have disappeared.  I did try to get on the tablet earlier but is lordship had other ideas 🐾 and objected to sharing me with it 🙄 he's now asleep on my wool, having slept all day he's being a PITA tonight 🙀

i unintentionally washed the kitchen floor earlier by dropping a full kettle of boiling water, it seems I'm nimbler on my feet than I thought and between jumping back quickly and the water flying forward I escaped it.  How's not the time for a trip to a&e. 😳 no idea how I did it but luckily the kettle still works

I managed to get a 45 minute walk in lunchtime so grabbed a couple of my crustless quiches and a quick salad for lunch (well spinach, tomato sand cucumber) followed with the last of some raspberries.  I meant to do something with LO chicken for dinner but ended up with fish fingers cooked quickly in the air fryer with LO veg

More sunshine today, getting warmer now, for the last two mornings my CH has not had to cut in, hopefully it will not be long before I can have all the windows open for a good blow through

This did occur to me but she's only a young girl on part time wages and I suspect not flush enough to sub my shopping even for a short period, albeit only a few quid to me it may be a lot to her. Plus it would mean I'd have to work my way through the online banking logins, two factor authentication PIA.
However the review on lock-down continuance is next week, so rules may change but I doubt it. In meantime I think I'll ask ND what she would prefer, cash may still be fine

    Porridge breakfast
Salady & salad cream sarnie for lunch
The remaining lamb leg steak with HM AF chips & salad for dinner

Super moon tonight, yet again I'll try & get it on camera. I do get it but it's never as clear as I'd like, at least it's warmer now so no numb fingers on the button

I had avocado on toast for breakfast. I'm still not getting a shopping delivery until the 15th so my husband is buying bits and pieces most days. My freezer is looking very empty at the moment!

I am going to have a blueberry and banana smoothie before I go for my daily walk.

I will make some HM soup when I get back and have it with a couple of slices of garlic bread. It will be an odds and ends soup of the veg I have left! One pepper, one onion, frozen broc and spinach. Luckily I have lots of chilli powder and garlic and onion salt etc... still in the cupboard. I suppose I could chuck a tin of baked beans in there too and whizz it up.

I only have 6 tins of food left in the cupboard now. I don't remember the last time I saw so little food in my house.

I have the garden door open now and my CH was turned off a few days ago. It's lovely weather here. :)

    Good afternoon everyone,
Dry with sunny spells here today, when the sun is out it's quite warm but chilly the minute it disappears as the wind is cold. CH still needed, it would be lovely to not be using it but unless we get an exceptionally warm spell it will be needed for a good few weeks yet I think. We're quite well stocked as although a fair bit has been used my son brought all the food he had with him, so we've lots of some things and hardly anything after that. I've an order booked for Thursday and then one the following Friday but unless slots begin to open up that will be it delivery wise until things ease.
I got my veg seeds down yesterday and a bit done outdoors so a start at least. I'll do some more later after I've put my feet up for a bit as I'm pooped after hoovering and mopping before lunch. Lunch was some more of the broccoli soup with a couple of buttered digestive biscuits, dinner tonight is ragu from the freezer with pasta and salad.
