PasturesNew said:I'm a bit worried... I seem to have developed a cough and new symptoms are cropping up.
I don't think it's the Coronas at all... it's just a regular cough, but it's annoying and "I'm never ill", so very annoying as I'm not "in my own little home". I'm "worried" as I don't want to be ill, especially here/now.
I've got: bit of a cough (wet), bit of a tiny sniffle, glands very slightly up. As I said, nothing to worry about, just a "normal sort of thing".
But what intrigues me, as I don't go anywhere/continually wipe down packaging and wash my hands, is where the heck did I manage to get that from? I've been out far less than anybody else....
I hope it just disappears in the next few hours. But, it's bl00dy annoying. *sniff*
EDIT: On the mend.... throat/glands issues subsided... almost "back to normal" now with just a hint of "watch that/be careful".
I'm never ill... I guess being so "idle" 99.99% of the time, when I finally get any bug heading my way my body says "thank God for that, FINALLY something to do" and it goes off to fight it3 -

If I'd got anything... I'd nail it on the coughing spluttering bint in Mr T. She was wearing a facemask and dragging a non-working male alongside the trolley.... what is it with couples that they need one to push a trolley and do the shopping, with the other one completely just wandering around in the rough vicinity like a f4rt in a trance? I thought at the time "why didn't he do that shopping...."
I do, roughly, just go out about once every five days or so... that was a special "round robin" trip to achieve several things...3 -
...." a fart in a trance!" Omg laughed so hard at this, haven't heard it before 😂😂😂😂
Had a lazy day in the garden today , was bliss.Easy tea of jalapeno Primula on toast , was amazingly good!😋
Am just getting a bag of stuff ready for the food bank, as they're desperate for stuff right now"You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"

Evening all 🙂 I'm finding working from home and not going out much means I'm losing track of time 🙄 I had to get up and check the phone this morning as I had no idea what day it was 🥺. At least it's a short week and I turned a deaf ear this morning to the request that two volunteers were needed for a couple of hours work Saturday afternoon. I know I'm not going out but I objected months ago for the need for system maintenance Easter weekend and had planned not to be about, previous months haven't gone well and has involved calling IT in India.
lunch was cold chicken salad I made chicken stock with the carcass for soup tomorrow. Dinner was the second plaice fillet I brought at the weekend, cooked from frozen in the AF with runner beans and the LO roast cauliflower as it needed using up
I'm thinking about taking the small rolled lamb leg from the freezer, I hadn't planned to eat it alone but it is Easter, I've time to mull it over before it needs to defrostLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin4 -
Good morning all,
Still a mix of CF1 times two and CF2 here. The freezer is still full as whatever I've taken out as ingredients has been replaced by the food that I've batch cooked. On Monday I made potato cakes, chocolate cake and mac 'n' cheese. On Tuesday I made gingerbread bunnies and welsh rarebit. I had a day off yesterday and did the garden. The garden no longer looks abandoned but I was shattered so I ordered a takeaway for dinner. I can't remember the last time that we had one so not too bad.
Back to cooking today. Breakfast was croissants for the HT and toast for me, lunch will be a cheese and ham toastie for the HT and a cheese sandwich for me, dinner will be pizza for the HT and a home made kebab for me. That's frozen kebab meat from Asd@ in a flatbread with salad and some chilli sauce. I've no idea what's in the kebab meat but the cat loves itThat probably tells you all that you need to know about it.
PN, as well as the old people who can't use technology there's all the people with zero income due to losing their jobs or being laid off. I did my last shift on the 16th of March and there's no sign of the 80% of wages being paid yet. Then there's all the people that have claimed universal credit. That takes a while to come into payment. A lot of people survive on a weekly/monthly basis with no money spare. This month end there will have been a lot of people with no wages paid or reduced wages. It's a scary thought........
Take care all of you and stay safe

CRANKY , apparently UC takes at least 6 weeks to be paid, and that's why so many people are struggling so much.Even before this latest crisis
My friend is a pastor, and is currently delivering upwards of 100 food parcels a day, as people are so desperate for foodWarburton's are supplying all the bread, which is great of them.I'm making up a carrier bag of stuff later, to try n help out a bit , every little helps xx

Omg laughed so hard at this, haven't heard it before 😂😂😂😂I was another one who laughed, thanks PN, cheered us upBeautiful sunny & warm day ahead, however I found my bathroom window push in locking thing has broken, so unable to unlock the catch to open the window. You Tube has the solution, if I can find a strong but thin bit of metal. Time for a rummage amongst the "come in handies"Porridge as usualLunch, yesterday I discovered a lurking tin of pork luncheon meat, I had some with HM chutney in a sarnie, it was back to the 60s in a sarnie. I'll have same again todayDinner, undecided, I've got LO tinned spuds and really need to use up PDQ, I may slice & fry, pour some eggy mix over & call it omelette or frittata. Maybe with a bit of salad?Eight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens5

Yesterday I had a welshcake with my coffee (breakfast) which I have with my mid-morning dose of antibiotics. Lentil and veg soup (very odd colour as I added some spirulina someone left here a couple of years ago) for lunch with a blob of creme fraiche, a bit of cheese, a clementine and some yogurt. Hot cross bun with butter mid-afternoon. Supper was some turkey with peppers and mushrooms from the freezer with spring greens and kale followed by a lump of cheese, chocolate and a medjool date.
Lots of salad stuff arrived with the HCBs, and some spinach. Today’s veg box delivery arrived early today, so that has just been unpacked, washed and sorted. Meal planning needs doing, but will involve lots of salads ☺️5 -
So heartbreaking to read about the older lady it made me think of my mum. The problems arising from this virus will be many more than just the virus itself. Looking around the estate I live there I have no idea what is going on behind those closed doors not everyone is able to reach out for help from friends and family maybe they just don't have any. I am very lucky yes I live alone and have some pretty bad health problems at the moment but I also have the internet (an essential for me) a stacked freezer, a couple of really good friends I speak to daily and a recurring shopping slot (lifeline!) Threads like this are also really important to be able to keep some sense of community
Anyway yesterday the plan was liver but there was none cooked in the freezer so it rapidly changed to bacon and mushroom pasta with about half the pasta I normally have and that is it now, no more, pasta jar empty, none anywhere round here it would seem. Today I have had a teacake for brekky then it will be a random HM pasty I found in the freezer I think its corned beef and potato....note to self please label betterIll have it with beans (last tin) and some mushrooms ....random but I have plenty of them. Lockdown food at its best
