You would be wrong. They do "think". Into far more detail than you might "think".

If they are selling 1kg bags, it's because they will shift more 1kg bags and make maximum profit.

Normally, yes, but it was an exceptionally poor harvest, so they should be trying to satisfy more regular customers by having them in stock + the potential to attract new customers who were let down by their usual shop.

    Good evening everyone,

I hope your moggie is okay unrecordings

Moomins came along too late for me but I remember my younger siblings loving them Wednesday -I was just hitting my teens when they started on the TV so too "cool" to watch them:rotfl::rotfl:
Between grocery deliveries and visitors (x 3 lots:eek:) today has flown past. Wrapping remains to be done:o but I did manage to thoroughly damp dust my living room - I even moved the furniture. With the decorations going up in the next couple of days I wanted it done and out of the way. It will be a superficial wipe if needed now until the New Year.:)
Tesco's carrots, parsnips & sprouts have dropped to 19p and the cauli & spuds are 29p. Only 500g of sprouts in the bags I can order, same with parsnips but the carrots are 1kg and spuds 2.5kg. I got another cauli in my order today, they are smaller than last year but not tiny but still good value for the price and a good CFO option.

My son arrives tomorrow and then it will be chaos rules for a few days as my sis & nephew are moving house on Friday. It was a very tight sell/buy turnaround- less than 3 weeks between offer and moving but her buyer wanted in before Christmas and her new place is currently empty. I hadn't mentioned it before but as missives are now concluded it's all systems go barring any glitches! :) On Friday her cat is coming here for the day - he's a timid little thing but a real escape artist. I suspect neither of us will enjoy that very much as he's going to have to be confined to my dining room which will result in a very noisy protest. I have cat treats in hand ...... ;) I'm hoping come Friday evening calm will have resumed, my son is off out and I can twitch quietly in the corner with a large glass of red:cool:.

Tomorrow there will be 4 of us for dinner and I'm going to make stovies which we'll have with beans and PB baquettes. We are on a weather warning again for wind & rain for 24 hours and it's really building up now.

Lunch today was soup and a cheese roll. The soup was from a tin and okay but not great, I just fancied a change from my freezer stocks but wish I hadn't bothered. Tonight it is more freezer offerings - cottage pie, spinach & peas.
I probably won't be about much from tomorrow until the New Year but will pop in when I can.

Thanks, vet called back after reviewing the x-ray, so the poor little soul is going back tomorrow for an overnighter then an operation to remove what they think is a stone. Doing it now should save a lot of discomfort during the period it would take to rule out cystitis via antibiotics (or so I understand via Mrs Un). Food wise so far so good, Not heard a peep out of her while finishing most of yesterday's chicken with a little rice (that was my tea - cat seems to be enjoying the hospital food)

The Moomin books (well the comet one anyway) read to us at school in the early 70's gave me my first taste of nuclear dread wiithout really understanding what it was. I bet all the guys & gals on the prepping threads recognise that too

Why am I in this handcart and where are we going ?

Three weeks  that's quick Caronc although I know things are different your side of the border :). Good luck cat sitting

Hope the cats' op goes alright unrecordings just what you need just before Christmas, how will she react to the 'cone of shame'?

I don't remember watching much of the Moomins, but have a soft spot for the clangers and the soup dragon :D

On the way to work today the radio presenter was talking about naked rambling at night in the South Downs  and although I have no desire to frighten the local wild life I've been singing and humming a song which sprung into my head all day  unfortunately it's 'and they call it the streak boogity boogity fastest thing on two feet .... don't look Ethel etc' not sure what dark recesses of my brain that came from but it's a real ear worm today and I can't get rid of it :p. I was told once or twice that I was humming it quite loud :rotfl:

I wasn't very organised last night so I didn't take anything out of the freezer for lunch today, therefore lunch was cheese, crackers and an apple. Dinner was bacon, eggs, tomatoes and mushrooms so really cba today

They have a 'suit' rather than a cone. This is going to be interesting - like Harry Houdini crossed with the Tazmanian Devil

I was a massive fan of the clangers ( and all of firmin & postgate's work - I'm still a virtuoso with the Acme Song Whistle even though I say so myself...

As for that song, I think I remember it (mid 70's ? ) but I absolutely do not want to google it

At least I've shared my pain :rotfl:

Not sure if it's a good or bad thing that at least I know more than four lines now :D thanks PN !,

If you need to take the cat in and out of the 'baby grow' unrecordings I suggest those chain gloves butchers use or maybe gauntlets
