On the way to work today the radio presenter was talking about naked rambling at night in the South Downs  and although I have no desire to frighten the local wild life I've been singing and humming a song which sprung into my head all day  unfortunately it's 'and they call it the streak boogity boogity fastest thing on two feet .... don't look Ethel etc' not sure what dark recesses of my brain that came from but it's a real ear worm today and I can't get rid of it :p. I was told once or twice that I was humming it quite loud :rotfl:

I remember that one, I was working in a factory at the time, it was on the radio all day long it seemed, with us all joining in, the singing that is;)

At the time it was "fashionable" for streakers to appear at sports matches, one of the best pictures, SFO, is https://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2009/10/14/article-1220367-06D0D29E000005DC-542_306x299_popup.jpg, it was an equal opportunity pastime, and even had table top football figures

Not good weather for naked rambling at the moment, so I'll give it a miss today:D:D

    Usual porridge breakfast
Lunch, more of the BLT PB rolls
Dinner, copycat yesterday beef & onion pasty, HM chips & beans. All LO but tasty

    Good morning everyone,

Yes I remember when streaking seemed to be a feature of many sporting events and the song...:rotfl:
The Moomin books completely passed me by.
It's a tight timescale even up here Brambling, all credit to the three sets of lawyers involved for getting it done! Though house sales are quieter at this time of year which has helped I think as folk aren't as busy.
To say my sis is a bit hyper today is an understatement, she was dropping stuff off earlier and was frazzled already!
I'm making the most of the calm before the storm and enjoying a quiet cuppa while I can. :D

Lunch will be a sarnie and I'm making stovies for dinner.

At least I've shared my pain :rotfl:

Not sure if it's a good or bad thing that at least I know more than four lines now :D thanks PN !,

I often remember the song and I, too, only really knew the same lines as you... and I'd say out loud "don't look Ethel" in that accent.

I'd never looked it up before/seen the video :)

I think this era of pop cemented my hatred of the banjo *

In other news, Yellow Sticker shame for Waitrose today. On Tuesday I noticed 2kg bags of King Edward potatoes on offer at £1.50 reduced from £2.00, and today they're back up to full price but all (so far as I could tell) stickered at £1.59 - cheeky

    * unless you completely de-tune the strings, sample it, and play it back two octaves down through every distorting device you can muster

Why am I in this handcart and where are we going ?

Normally, yes, but it was an exceptionally poor harvest, so they should be trying to satisfy more regular customers by having them in stock + the potential to attract new customers who were let down by their usual shop.

They don't care about satisfying customers. They care about profit and selling as near to possible 100% of the stock.

They obviously think their way is better than yours. ;)

Thanks PN, she was one I was trying to think of, local to me, not that I knew her. Clicking past your link I came across one riding an elephant onto a cricket match:eek:, that one got away because no one can stop an elephant:D

I also remembered the end 'Ethel put your clothes on....' :rotfl If I remember correctly Erica was a well built young lady  but it's probably best I don't open any links relating to streaking at work  I'm glad I've dragged you all down my rabbit hole and shared my earworm with you :D

Unrecordings I've noticed you have to be careful with YS sometimes in W8itrose, they will have a deal for example £1.50 each or 2 for £2 and they YS the item at £1.20.

You won't need a big police helmet for naked rambling in December Farway :p It's been a horrid wet day, I assuming you and PN have been sharing your weather with us again :( Lunch time was very much a stay indoor and gossip type day and I think a drive home the long way to avoid the area that often floods :o

I've reached the CBA stage of run up to Christmas and didn't sort lunch out last night, so today was a 20p YS pot of hummus from T Express with chopped veg (carrot, cucumber, pepper and sugar snap peas) and a pack of crisps

Dinner I'm not sure about i was going to have smoked cod but I think I may have put it in the freezer, if I have I may use up the bacon i opened yesterday with some mushrooms depending on what i feel like it will be with rice or pasta with some other veg thrown in for good measure. I picked up some T Finest small tomatoes last night as well also YS for 20p so it could be pasta

  • Yep I'm a bit agnostic when it comes to YS, usually the reduction is so pitiful that I don't bother unless the stuff fits with my plans that day. We don't have much freezer space, and I have the opinion there's no point buying food I don't need. Someone else can benefit from that 20p off

Why am I in this handcart and where are we going ?
  • I have had two cups of tea so far today.

I think I will surprise myself and have toast for breakfast again.:p:D

I am going to make cocoa later.:A

I had such a craving for that yesterday! I might have to raid the shrapnel we keep by the front door and buy some today.

Shops were manic! Bizarre as it was only about 11am. A 10 minute queue/wait to get into Lidl. I was in there for a jar of coffee... had other ideas of ambling around, but the sheer volume of people made that too awful to do. Grabbed a 24 pack of fizzy pop "in case" so I've got some over Xmas, although I've still the remnants of the last one, so I've probably got enough now until mid-late January.

Having abandoned L1dl I was daft enough to attempt Mr T. Not so bad, got parked easily.... but then I was thinking of "food to eat today and tomorrow".

I got a 67p pizza, pack of 10 fish fingers, a loaf of bread and a HUGE bag of chips... oops. So lots of chips today and tomorrow :)

I've bought too much really... should've just let the chips go :)

Ideas for that were: pizza, fish fingers/chips, just chips, chips/beans/cheese, chips/beans, beans on toast, fish finger toasties.

I've just enough marg left now for one slice of toast. The f/finger toasties will have to be with brown sauce as I used up the ketchup.

I could use up some bread by making up sandwiches for my road trip on Sunday, but can't think what to buy that'd be easiest. There'd be no marg, I've no salad cream, so they'd be a bit dry. I could buy jam, but would have to use up the whole jar, which is too large. Shippams crab paste could be an idea.... or I could just make some cold f/finger toasties for the journey :)

The question is: "what can you access/buy that will go into bread without any marg being available, that you use up in its entirety making about three rounds of sandwiches"....

If only I liked those Heinz sandwich fillers, but they are tainted with a vinegar gherkin taste. Maybe I need to get a pot of sandwich filler.... that'd do it. 4sda have the greatest range... but that is far away, so it'll be whatever Mr T or L1dl sell, probably end up with a simple cheese/onion one. Shame I didn't think of this while in Mr T, I could've bought that and no chips.
