Another wet morning:(
I've taken a salmon fillet out to defrost for tonight, probably have it with salad as I enjoyed last night's side salad despite the weather
Brambling, hard not to resits a kitten, I had one that used to come visiting, but once it became a cat it turned it's nose up, possibly because apart from a stroking it never got anything else
Busy time ahead PN, but at least it'll be settled and 2020 can start from a firm baseEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -
Grilled cheese on toast + HM chutney for lunch
Dinner still butter /VOL fried salmon fillet, skinny French fries [using up] + salad
Maybe cheese & crackers laterEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -
Oh, I love kittens. I got two black rescue kittens at Christmas years ago, one has sadly passed away now and the other is almost 10 now. She is still very small for some reason and we still call her "The Kitten".:D
I call her "Little My" too, if anyone remembers that character from The Moomins.:rotfl:
I feel quite sick as I tried these fry's veggie southern chicken things in a sandwich and they weren't very nice.
I am going to have something very bland for dinner - spuds and steamed veg.0 -
I had chips earlier ...
What I really want, often want, would be to go into a typical works' canteen of the 1980s or so and just be served a fat slab of something with a choice of veg. You can't buy food like that.... big fat slabs of pie, lasagne, moussaka.... proper foodwhich I'd mostly eat with chips.

Good evening everyone
Sounds as though you need to find and old fashioned cafe/restaurant PN, there's a couple round here that serve that kind of stuff quite often near industrial parks/factories and pick up the gap canteens left. Anything frequented by truck drivers might be an idea.
His Lordship was obviously feeling hard done by Brambling to discover you had been "mingling" with another, my pooch used to be the same if I'd had the audacity to pet another animal and go in a right huff. He was the same with my "Christmas" jumper which has Rudolph on and used to growl at it when it was on the drying rack.:rotfl::rotfl:
I've been really tired today a combination of missing my nap yesterday and the lingering lurgy I think. I was out this morning running errands which got a few things off my "to do". Apart from that I've not done a huge amount, yapped on the phone to both my boys and sorted out the groceries I'm getting delivered tomorrow which includes my festive non-perishables and a couple of fresh bits to tide me over until I have the fresh stuff delivered on Sunday. Then it will just be the turkey & trimmings to pick up on Monday. My younger son arrives on Thursday evening and my sis & nephew are also coming round for dinner, I'm making stovies which we all enjoy.:) Friday I'll be CFO in the evening and then until the 2nd of January it will be from 2-8 folk each day, though depending on my son's social plans I might squeeze in a couple of CFO moments too:). I don't want my son to have to be constantly nipping to the SM so I'm trying to be as well prepared as possible to cover us until the 30th when I've an order book for New Year. A some point I must knuckle down and get the wrapping done.....
Lunch today was the LO curry & spicy onions from Sunday on toast and tonight it's jerk spiced chicken thighs with roasted peppers, mushrooms & mini corn cob with a baked spud. Both the curry & onions had matured nicely, if anything the onions were better than on Sunday and hadn't softened too much. I'd braved slicing them on the mandolin which usually lurks in the cupboard and it did give a better result. I must stop being so nervous of it (I cut myself really badly on one years ago when the guard slipped) and use it more often.:)0 -
I really got my appetite back and I had half a huge packet of posh sea salt and vinegar crisps followed by HM potato wedges with peas, sweetcorn, green beans and carrots with gravy.
I still feel a bit peckish. That chocolate cupcake in the fridge is calling my name.:EasterBunPasturesNew wrote: »I had chips earlier ...

That reminds me of when I used to work at Makro in south London when I was a student. I used to get a cheese and onion pasty, chips and baked beans everyday for lunch. Yum!:drool:2025 GOALS

Well that didn't work. They decided to put her on a special diet for 21 days, plus antibiotics - that's a trip to the vet for injection every three days to the new year. So no chicken for little bears. She's going to be grumpy as hell when the drugs wear off tomorrow, especially when she works out there's chicken in the house, and ham, and smoked salmon, and liver, and that some !!!!!! has shaved the fur off one of her knees. Oh dear
Edited to add, I realised the smoked salmon probably freezes quite well, so I'll check the packet and pop one away. I took advantage of an offer, so I'll have to use sneaky means to persuade her that she doesn't want to share the first packet with me - I'm thinking pickled capers
Why am I in this handcart and where are we going ?0 -
Oh dear Unrecordings you're not going to be popular, his lordship doesn't do human food which threw me when I first got him, I just hope I never have to bribe him to take pills  I freeze smoke salmon when I pick it up YS or on offer.
Luckily his lordship forgave me sometime during the night as I forgot to set my alarm and he woke me this morning about 15 minutes later than usualno snooze button on him :rotfl: I finally bit the bullet and put up my Christmas tree tonight, he's now sitting staring at it, hopefully not getting any ideas  last year he was a PITA with the table decorations, he didn't touch them but would sit amongst it as soon as my back was turned
I had to smile at the dog growling at you jumper Caronc :rotfl:
A lunchtime meeting meant lunch was late, a portion of beef cheek ragu from the freezer with pasta and green beans therefore dinner was light, a breadcrumb chicken thigh cooked in the air fryer with a raw spinach side saladLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -

I'm starving.... but eating down the food I've got means there are no nibbles. Tummy's gurgling.
Yesterday I went to the shops just for sweeties... scuttling away with a bag of jelly babies and two bags of my favourite chocs. I 'hid' one bag in the car, perchance I won't eat them before Xmas, but the other two were eaten last night as my evening meal.... and I don't feel that great this morning as a result of that.
I've just one portion of frozen chips and about 200g of cheese remaining that needs to be eaten in the next four days, so I can justify popping to Mr T to buy a couple of ready meals from their cheapskate range.0
