Totally stressed by this. I'll be leaving Natwest at the first opportunity.0

Bingo!
PIN & password set up.
Card reader ordered.
Think I will try to use my NationW card reader on Monday...... Things are looking up!!
How did you manage to log on without your activation code?0 -

The uploading of either passport or driving licence can be a real problem, I know. I applied to switch and it took umpteen attempts to get their system to accept my passport. I kept on photographing it under differing light condition to remove glare etc.
My friend had similar problems with his passport so he tried his drivers licence, and it would accept that either. So he went back to the passport and he uploaded half a dozen different pictures of it simultaneously and two days later Natwest responded with an OK!0 -

Just as Katiehound says. I've logged on and have no activation code but I have all of the other components barring the card reader, ie account number, sort code, customer ID and debit card. So I can logon but I can't make a payment.
Seemingly you can register for online banking using these bits of information, without having the Activation Code.0 -
Not necessarily always the case. I ordered a card reader, and online banking allowed me to activate one less than five minutes later. In which case it sounds like NatWest's security procedures might have failed. You may want to give them a call to check that everything is ok.0

Quick query;
I've switched my wife's B account to Natwest, that's going through at the moment and should be switched 7th February....
However, I've just been looking at the Reward account and the Reward credit card. At the moment, my wife and I have a joint Santander account and credit card which is used for all day to day spending and bills.
It looks like I'll be better off transferring the credit card balance to Natwest and changing the bank account to Santander..
Can I apply for a joint account switch even though my wife will have a single account with Natwest? Will I also get the £125 for that?
Thanks0 -

I managed it without having the debit card. Natwest haven't mentioned an 'activation code' to me, so I don't know what it is/does.0 -
No. Switching is all about Current Accounts.
This has always been my view too but I am a bit surprised when applying for the switch to be given the option of "Current Account" or "Savings Account (Excluding ISA and FRB)" as my existing account.
Anyone tried the latter option and had any luck?
Sorry if this has been discussed, I had a quick search but found nothing.0 -
After my experience i'd look elsewhere0
