    Pin for debit card.
Not true! I put it in and got the reply PIN LOCKED so I telephoned NatWest and was told it was a security pin and I will receive a Debit Card PIN later.

No it's got to be a current account.

Read the switching terms - you'll be surprised how clear the answer is.
  • I had a select account which I transferred over to First Direct to get the £125 in November. That's all done, dusted and paid.

I've just switched from Yorkshire bank (used old Halifax account, bonus now also paid) to open a Natwest select account again.
I did this as a new customer.

    This switch is now complete.

However, logging into the Natwest online banking and looking at the messages shows a message from November relating to my first select account (the one I used to switch to FD).

Does this mean no chance of the Natwest switching bonus?
Somewhere in between new customer / existing customer?
  • Is it possible to use a card reader from another bank for Natwest? I've ordered one from Natwest but it takes up to 7 days to arrive.

It should not matter as the offer is available to new and existing xustomers.

Yes but you will need your NatWest debit card and its 4 digit PIN that you would use in ATM etc.

I used an old card reader today, NatWest do need to update your online account to allow use of card reader before using.

I made the requisite deposit £1500, had made a token few pounds payment out earlier and was asked to use card reader, then later made a FP of well over £1,000 for which I was not asked to use the card reader! My account was debited immediately but five hours later had not arrived in destination account. I called NW and was told yes the payment was referred to the fraud dept.who didnt bother to tell me then had to talk to them and pass various security before the payment was made :T

Think I've done everything I need to do now, as a new customer its taken 12 days from application online to now.

Just to point out that you can also earn rewards using your Select account debit card in certain "partnership" stores.
Ah, I hadn't realised that- thanks- looks like it might be 1%.
However the leaflet goes on to say:
"and you joined the My Rewards service before 12 October 2015"
    Erm... no, it's now 2018!

Won't hold breath over this one....
