Hi, I’ve just completed my first switch with Halifax and been rewarded £75, I would like to switch to NAtWest to get the £125 but I wondered if there was a minimum period you need to stay with these banks before you switch again? The NatWest one needs to be done by 16tj feb and my switch with Halifax completes on 29th jan so ide like to do it straight away, wondering if Halifax would maybe claim the £75 back as the account would only be open for about 2 weeks at the most? Thank you0

First one was Clydesdale, money for switch received earlier this month. Switch to Natwest account last night using same account and three direct debits in it. Using my switch money to make extra payments to my credit card to pay it off quicker. Thanks to all the competition posters.0

Card reader activated, although the Natwest one hasn't arrived yet, part of the £1500 returned to Santander, rest tomorrow, and postie brought a cheque book this morning (don't recall asking for one though).0

You can always open a new account (with Halifax or whoever), and switch that one.0 -
I had an account with FD about 8 years ago which I left dormant. Until recently they refused my switching bonus application. I called them as their response suggested and they were very pleased to offer me the MSE switch incentive - at last:T:T
Really?
That's extremely odd when First Direct's T&C, and even MSE's T&C say its not available to anyone who has previously held an account with them

I suspect your customer service rep is wrong;)0 -

Very odd, and there are many posts on this forum from people who are disgruntled that FD wouldn't pay them the incentive because they used to have an FD account many years ago.0 -
well all done and dusted for me just waiting on the payment now. Account switch was completed on Monday £1500 paid in on that date, left it until today and have moved the £1500 out this afternoon and have been logging on to their internet banking via desk top and app, so all ok in that respect and also received the cheque book. To be honest although opened the select account for the bonus, i may well decide to keep it for a while and use it for putting small amounts aside here and there, theres a branch that is nearby and more handy than some of the other banks i have accounts with and the city centre one also has a coin pay in machine, so can also use it to throw in the coin jar money when it gets fills up and needs to be opened, saving me bagging it all up and taking it into branches in batches (due to their bag pay in limits)MFW#105 - 2015 Overpaid £8095 / 2016 Overpaid £6983.24 / 2017 Overpaid £3583.12 / 2018 Overpaid £2583.12 / 2019 Overpaid £2583.12 / 2020 Overpaid £2583.12/ 2021 overpaid £1506.82 /2022 Overpaid £2975.28 / 2023 Overpaid £2677.30 / 2024 Overpaid £2173.61 Total OP since mortgage started in 2015 = £37,286.86 2025 MFW target £1700, payments to date at April 2025 - £1712.07..0

Still getting the same message even though the card reader has been activated. Oh well the joys of dealing with a dinosaur of a bank.
Yep same message for me still though did get the card reader this morning and was able to successfully enable it with the new debit card so I presume (hope!) that this means I will be able to withdraw the £1,500 straight out again after meeting the pay in requirement.0 -
Switch has completed successfully.
Will pay in £1500 and pay out £1500 when I get my card reader.0
