Same here. Switch started today, completes 22nd.
Debit card received today but no Pin yet.
Customer number received, but no activation code which should have been received by 9.30 this morning
Without these missing bits of the puzzle, I don't know my account number and don't have OLB access, so will not be able (or willing:p) to transfer £1500 in.
Mildly envious of those lucky ones who have had a smoother experience:o.Spooky
Just got text to say my new debit card will be despatched within 48 hours:cool:
Pin and welcome letter with account number (both dated 12th Jan:cool:) arrived today.
I think the only puzzle piece missing now is my activation code for OLB which was supposed to be sent by text by 09.30 16th.No idea TBH, the bank systems appear to be making the process up as they go along. Lol.
Seriously though, it seems that some applications have been trouble free and others not, and as yet no apparent reasons why that should be the case.
This could be my nomination for 'post of the year', though its early days yet;)0 -
Applied for an card reader for online banking. Will take 7 days to get to me. I assume the card reader will be to make any payment although I could use my customer number to make payments via phoning customer services.0

Doing this for me and the wife, the wife hasn't got any donor accounts yet.
Whats the easiest bank to get a donor account from these days?
Its been a while since I did it and my go to donor account was Natwest or existing banks and her bank needs a branch visit to open an additional account.0 -
Card readers are generic. If you have one already then you will be able to use that.
Generic or not I don't have NatWest one yet, but have others, however when trying to move money out of NatWest I end up with a page saying:
This function requires additional security and you don't appear to have a card-reader yet.
Why not order a card-reader now? If you do you'll be able to use this function very soon.
When you've finished, call Telephone Banking or your branch and we'll do our best to help you until your card-reader arrives.
So would appear the account can't be used without NatWest card reader
.Don`t steal - the Government doesn`t like the competition0 -

Is this true for card readers from all banks? I can see the similarity between Nantionwide and Natwest card readers. The Barclays one looks a bit different though.:grouphug:Official MSE canny forumite and HUKD VIP badge member

I think what people have been doing is ordering a Natwest reader, then using another bank's card reader straight after.:grouphug:Official MSE canny forumite and HUKD VIP badge member

Card readers are generic. If you have one already then you will be able to use that.
Indeed, they are part of the UK Payments Administration (UKPA) a successor of the Association for Payment Clearing Services (APACS) It should be interchangeably between these UK Banks:
Barclays Bank
Co-operative Bank
Nationwide
NatWest
Royal Bank of Scotland
Smile
Ulster Bank0 -
You can move £250 per day out using the Nat West mobile app without debit card/card reader.0
