Can you change the details of the account switch once it’s started?

    Phone them and ask.

If they say no, cancel the switch and start it again.

Same here. Switch started today, completes 22nd.

Debit card received today but no Pin yet.

Customer number received, but no activation code which should have been received by 9.30 this morning

Without these missing bits of the puzzle, I don't know my account number and don't have OLB access, so will not be able (or willing:p) to transfer £1500 in.

Mildly envious of those lucky ones who have had a smoother experience:o.

Sorry i have got bank acc no etc from application process have logged on but when I got the card today just thought it strange no acc no on it.
Generic letter has correct last 4 digits of account though.

I wanted to do this and they said cancel the switch and start again. However I was reluctant to do this because no doubt I would have been credit searched again.

NatWest don't put the account number or sort code on their debit cards claiming that it is a security risk.

Ergo I have now caused a delay and have to back into branch in the next couple of days.
I would also check very carefully to make sure that your interaction with the branch hasn't altered the status of your application to an in-branch one. In conversations I've had today it was very clear that only applications made via the online channel will be eligible for the bonus.

This is also mentioned in the T&C's

This is actually my point. In order to do that they will need to publicly acknowledge first that they are the party who is making that mistake.

If it happens quite often it is not good for their reputation.

If they made mistake they are legally required to correct it anyway as any credit file needs to be the true reflection of how the account is conducted.
But your credit file is not a public document, and there is no reason for it to contain history of a deleted item of data. Their reputation is not going to be affected as only the customer and CRA will know anything about it.

They don't need to leave a record to explain why they have deleted something which shouldn't be there in the first place.

But I wait to see what they finally decide to do in my case.

My Natwest debit cards all have a sort code imprinted on them. Just no account number.
