Any advice (other than "moan, complain, and demand compensation":p)? I would hate to do something to try to speed it up only to find that it delays things further.
I'm afraid that the best suggestion I can offer is to phone the new applications team on 0345 3030 299 and ask them what stage your application is at. Do you have an application reference number that you can quote when you get through?
Best wishes.0 -
I do! (In fact I have two of everything, since one expired while I was waiting for HMRC to send me something I could use for ID. Hopefully this will not be another confounding factor.) I will give them a try tomorrow. I assume it's working hours only so I'll have to tell the whole office all about it?0

They are open until 8.00 p.m.0 -
So I call to chase the processing of my ID that I took in to the branch (on the instructions of the telephone helpline who'd assured me that this didn't invalidate the online-ness of the application), only to be told that the online account can only be opened with photographic ID.
Thing is though, I've been told so many different things by these guys now (four different stories in four interactions) that I don't know whether this is true or not.
Has anybody on here been able to open an online account without photographic ID?
I'm annoyed about having been led up the garden path on this one. Getting the HMRC letter was a faff and a half, and I stood in the sodding bank for over half an hour! And all they can do for me now is "sorry you've been misinformed" and offer to open me a normal account with no switch bonus.0 -
I switched an old tsb, all done online within minutes, so it can be done, been using the account for a few weeks now with no problems.0

Same as, (Nationwide account) , not even photo ID, I think I may have given my DL number, (old paper one).

So you didn't do the Digidocs thing, and they opened you both an account anyway? What did you do with the Digidocs, just ignore it?
The only way I could think of to avoid it would be to have already had a Natwest account up and running from before this offer came out, so that you wouldn't need to be applying to open an account at all (online or otherwise), and it's too late for me to do that.0 -

I opened mine with my driving licence number (though it is a photocard licence, unlike derrick's). At no point was I asked to upload anything to Digidocs.0 -
I didn't upload anything, no license or passport, they just opened it, in fact i haven't had to upload anything for any current accounts or credit cards i have applied for on line, it must be easy for them to confirm our id's online0

My account is now open but first go was pain and had to use Digidocs. Problem seemed to be that I'd missed out my middle name on the application.
Ended up starting a brand new application which all went through smoothly so that might be worth trying if you're having issues with the process on your first attempt. I've still been getting emails telling me I need to upload docs to complete my application despite my account being open for a few weeks nowRemember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.0
