Good morning, a quick question for those that have switched before please.

I have followed all the steps including depositing 1500 in my natwest. Now though I was wondering if i need to leave it there till i get the 125 switch bonus or if I can take it out again?

Thank you in advance and happy snow day!

You can take it out as soon as you like, maybe leave a few quid in as against a zero balance.

  • Has anyone managed to get the online switch form to work? For some reason it didn't let me switch when I signed up and I now still need to complete the switch, but the online form says page not found. Do I have to ring them?

Also if the account that I want to switch from is registered to a different address will this not work?
  • I switched to NatWest about a month ago, I appreciated I may not receive my £125 bonus reward for some months (until end of April), but just out of curiosity, has anyone else received theirs yet?

No, you don't need to leave it in the account.

Because no one can qualify until 13th of April due to this condition:-

"If you meet the eligibility criteria for this offer, we’ll pay £125 into your eligible account by 13 April 2018, but please note:
If you close your eligible account before this date, then the £125 won’t be paid.

ie to be eligible for the £125 you have to fullfill all the conditions and still have the account open on the 13th April.

That makes more sense (for the bank) than Nationwide's Recommend a Friend offer which pays out £100 each to the recommender and the friend quite soon after the switch. They reserve the right to claim the payments back from both parties if the friend closes their account within 3 months of the payment. How they would enforce this is not made clear.

They would apply a debit to the account of £100 before account closure. If your account was more than £100 in credit at the point then all that would happen is that you would have £100 less. If your account did not have sufficient funds to cover the £100 debit then you would owe Nationwide money, which they would almost certainly apply charges on and pursue you for.

Any idea when we can expect this incentive to be paid?

I'm hoping it's before 16 March so I can nab the Halifax offer too
