Any idea when we can expect this incentive to be paid?

I'm hoping it's before 16 March so I can nab the Halifax offer too

Unlikely. Open a second account with a bank you already have an account with and then switch that.

Very concerned I just received a text message saying my mobile number has been changed :( anyone else get this (without changing number). When I logged in my mobile number and email suggested they did not have either detail.

I got the same when I was switching. In fact I got loads of stupid contradictory texts and emails. All worked out ok.

I believe it's the normal misinformation/rubbish that you can get depending on how smoothly the a/c gets opened.

I think their logic is as follows...

Before applying they have no mobile number for you.
When applying you give them your mobile number.
Hence their system reckons this is a change of mobile number and you get the text confirming this.

    Sensible, eh?

Switch completed a week and a half ago and I've just started getting the text messages reminding me to upload ID! What's really annoyed me about this is the timing of these messages: 1.04a.m. and 2.07a.m. Thanks, NatWest! Now I can't sleep. What an utterly stupid time to have text messages going out.

It's almost like they want to annoy their new customers.

Well they certainly annoyed me with their threat to not process my account application because of those "upload ID" texts/emails! Silly people had opened my account at least a week earlier, possibly two! Money had been moved in and out by me during this period.

I inquired via a free phone call and got little sense from them .... so I went all "Mchambers" on them and got £35 compo for the annoyance! They paid it into my account the next day :)

They will be getting a complaint from me for disturbing my sleep.

That happened to me a few weeks ago and of course the account was already open! Then it transpired they were using my details for someone else's application.

Phoned to complain and I haven't had any more early morning texts.

Forgot to ask for compo though!;)

Obviously something they are good at, can't think of any other company that texts in the early hours!:(
