I'm supposed to be meeting a friend after work to catch up on the last 18 months but don't know yet where.  (highly annoying as any place I suggest gets a firm no but nothing being suggested in return.)

But I should be home by 7:30 at least so weisswurst will be nice and easy.

  • Not been on for a few days, been off this week and had a couple of day trips so mainly ate out. Nothing too different.  Wetherspoons. Had pizza both times, was very nice. Wednesday night, stayed in and had some pork with rice. Tonight I am making curry using up last of veg and those little bits of frozen meat in freezer get chucked in ''just in case'' Found a shop bought thing of peri peri prawns. So far there also bit of pork and bit of chicken.  Chinese curry sauce. Rice and few samosas.

Had a rough night due to having a coffee too late (5 pm, normally I don't have coffee in the afternoon) but it was a really nice morrocan iced coffee enjoyed with a shared platter of meze - baba ganoush, hummus, beet & feta salad, little cheese pastries.  I suspect it was full of salt as I was glugging water the rest of the evening.  Or maybe it was just that I hadn't had any wine due to driving.....

@kerri_gt = my friend didn't want to spend a lot of time on a day off work on public transport coming to meet up and also wanted to ensure we had plenty of time to chat (so no meeting for breakfast or lunch) all of which i understand.  But I could do without the fuss of standing outside of "the morrocan place on the high street"  not knowing if it's the only one on that high street particularly as my friend was no where in sight!  (still at home waiting for me to call to say I'd arrived as agreed!!! sigh!)

Hoping the OH is doing steak with Roquefort sauce tonight as we'd got 2 nice bits of rump from the market on Thursday. Sauce will mean chips of course.

I would like fish for breakfast tomorrow but can't be bothered driving as far as a decent fish shop so may have to make do with boiled eggs instead - OH has been doing them as "eier im glas" having read that a favourite composer (Mahler I think) used to go to some restaurant in Vienna to eat them.  Basically - soft boiled eggs, peeled and served in a champagne coup with lumps of butter and chopped chives.  Toast for dipping of course.
