    Made Delia's wholemeal cheese-crusted scones to eat with sliced tomatoes and a sneaky glass of dry vermouth over ice to be followed by a satsuma and a coffee.

    We had Cesar salad, spicy chicken, halloumi, coleslaw and new potatoes. In the garden with bottles of beer.

    Was going to treat myself to a takeaway but looking at the prices of the online menu deterred me so instead made lentil dhal from the storecupboard and ate it with rice and mango chutney followed by a satsuma and a coffee.
